HI Folks,
I'm a newbie, living in Sydney joining into this thread.
Story for me - My BMI was sitting at 29.9 (so close to obese but not officially there) when I joined the Gym in Mid June, by mid August I'd not lost any weight. This week I am celebrating loosing my first kg. I have been very frustrated - but now I believe that I have started the Downward trend.
Trying to Apply CSIRO Diet principles to my lifestyle rather than going on a strict diet. Trying to do Low GI Carbs only, and avoiding carbs after 3pm. Seems to be working on the hunger pains. I have noticed this week that I have replaced my something sweet after dinner with a pot ( about 3 cups) of Herbal tea - and I am surprised that not feeling like I am suffering by doing so.

I'm missing my momma today.

It's odd, you think you're getting used to the idea because it gets easier to talk about it or to reply when people offer sympathies etc.. but that's only if you don't really think about it. As soon as I do, all is lost and the floods of tears are back. So many things make me think "I must tell mum..." and then I remember that I can't.. it's not fair. Whatever else was happening in life, I always had my mum to call... it feels a lot lonelier over here now.

I lost my mum at the end of last year. Miss her also, I've been told that you never stop missing your mum.
Feeling it with you Augigi.

It's been 17 months for me now and I still feel the same as you Gen. I have moments where I want to tell mum stuff or ask her something, it's hard getting used to her not being around. I talk to dad but it's not the same.

I can't imagine how hard it must be to lose your mum at a young age and I would be willing to bet that the pain would never really go away. Big hugs to you all

Vonni I love the new do! You look HOT

I've made no progress at all this week unfortunately. I don't know why but I just cannot get into the head space I need to be in to start losing weight again. I actually looked through some photos tonight from a couple of years ago and was quite shocked at how slim I was when they were taken. Why couldn't I see it at the time!?!?!?

This week is going to be a busy one but I know that I need to start making some small changes. Goal for the week will be to make my lunches and take them to work ever day. That ought to save me from the temptations of the cafe!

Good on you Lauren! Nothing like going home

So what's everyone up to, weight loss wise? I'm at 96.4, slow but steady downwards trend. I have bought 3 massive tubs of protein powder that is supposed to taste okay (fingers crossed) and waiting on a shipment of sugarfree syrups to flavour them with.. I am definitely not eating much, and not nearly enough protein. Also waiting on a shipment of PB2 - this is powdered peanut butter flavoured powder without a lot of the fat - how cool!??

I have been making omelettes and scrambled eggs the past few days, with light cream cheese, 0% fat plain greek yoghurt, cheese to up the protein. Even added some shredded bbq chicken to my omelette tonight. Oh, and using "Egg Beaters" instead of eggs - no cholesterol but all the protein of eggs, they are great!

OK that's my boring food rant.. otherwise just sitting around reading a PPT I have to present tomorrow to a bunch of Italian surgeons.. it is FOREVER since I had to do training, so I'm cacking myself a bit. Good news is I only have one pair of slacks and one jacket left that fit me - and I haven't worn these ones for 2 years or so, I don't think. I bought a few size 16 work shirts at Miller's when I was home in the hopes that I'd fit them one day, and I can put them on now! They are pulling at the bust and might need another 3-4kg off before they look good, but size 16 woohoo!

hi everyone, one new aussie girl in the forums

i started south beach this week, so far so good. im going to the royal show with my boyfriend straight after work on friday and wondering how im going to work around it. i think i might bring a dinner-sized lunch to work and a small salad to eat right before i go. i looked online and saw in the main pavilion there is a nuts stall and a jalna yoghurt stall (and they do the fat free sugar free yoghurt ive been using) so i can probably snack there around dinner time. if i dont plan, i fail every time.
