Wow Lindor. Amazing. I am chicken poop when it comes to things like that. Feel the fear and do it anyway, hah! More like feel the fear & run a mile - hey that's a thought, I'd get more exercise then!

I am usually chicken poop at these kind of things too. But for some reason, I feel I need to do this? I am sick of just existing and not living...every day is just a routine for me. It's time for me to live a little!

Before coming here, I was 'living' in a small town where I literally hid away from everyone and everything. I was fat, boring and convinced people were mocking me and every thing I did. Everything I did was also with others in mind - "What will people think if I did that?" Stupid...but I think that is what is called small town mentality???

Anyway, here is a whole new world for me. Here, is where I don't care what people think. Here, is where I do what I want to do!

Here, is where I am me!

Woo Lindor that's awesome! I'm sure you'll absolutely love it and good on you for challenging yourself to do something so out of the ordinary.

Ani I'm so sorry to hear what's happening with you and your friend. It seems totally unreasonable that she has done this to you and it's put you in an awful position. No chance she can find someone else to use the ticket?

I've had a quiet weekend, toof pain still pretty severe so I've been laying low. Diet seems to have been pretty good. I've tried to do all meals as low carb as possible and today I got a couple of books from the library so that I can learn more about it.

Here's hoping that my toof is feeling better tomorrow! I'm on antibiotics to try and kill the infection and have to wait till 3 August for my appointment to see an oral surgeon who will then assess if I need the wisdom teef excised. Eek!

Toof's a little less sore today thank goodness. Hopefully it will be totally painless soon

I've been doing the low carb thing for a few days now but I'm considering today my Day 1. Breakfast was 1 rasher of chicken bacon, 1 chicken sausage, 1 egg and some onion and green pepper.

Gym tonight and I'll do weights and maybe 30 minutes cardio.

i exercised everyday - i thought that alone would make me lose weight
i ate well everyday - the minimal treats i had should not have made me put on weight

The more I read about lap band complications - bands slipping, rupturing, infections etc, not to mention port problems, needing fills/unfills forever... I am leaning towards laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy. Makes your stomach smaller permanently (staples) and reduces the hormone ghrelin, which causes hunger. No followup maintenance needed (apart from usual checkups).

Only problem is - don't think my insurance pays for it as they call it 'experimental'. Will have to ask the surgeon when/if I get to that stage.

Sorry to hear that Kel. I'm afraid I don't have any words of wisdom but I can definitely sympathise because that's pretty much what happens to me all the time. It's VERY frustrating! I guess you've just got to keep on keeping on and it'll pay off in the end.

Gen, you've certainly got a lot to think about. Any kind of surgery is a BIG deal.

Chicken bacon is produced here by Tegel which is NZ's biggest chicken supplier. It takes very much like bacon but is made of chicken so contains less fat.

Lindor I am in awe - do you have to do anything to prepare? Are you doing a tandem jump or leaping out solo? I think it's a fantastic thing you're doing, and I can't wait to hear about it.

For $50 I can change the date of my trip to NZ - but of course my friend has refused to change her plans. So I am stuck with a plane ticket I hadn't planned on buying, and will now have to start saving to make a trip on my own that I hadn't planned on taking. Excellent!

I'm working late shift for two weeks in a row now - so I guess I'll have some kind of routine.

Gen keep researching. It's a big decision, so you should be really comfortable with it before deciding to go ahead and do anything.

This week's plan is to stick to my goals. I'll weigh-in tomorrow and see how I am tracking. If I can't get myself sorted by the end of this month I am going to join a local Weight Watchers.
