I bet it does when your rice-burnin-self makes it. :p

Couscous is good though. I didn't like it the first time I made it, but you have to put something else in it. You don't just eat couscous alone.

Seriously... ya'll are sleepin' on couscous

CakeBatter 09-17-2009 11:31 PM

@ bejeweled - congratulations! I will think of some tips for you. First is make sure u have working internet as soon as possible so u can on here for support! I know beaka has many great tips

@matilda - it takes me about an 1-1/2 to run 8 miles. I love Zumba and congrats for stepping up ur elliptical game! Oh and I was looking at ur FB pics and I can really see ur WL. You are doing great! Keep it up!

beaka 09-18-2009 07:05 AM

So... just did Day 4 of the 30 day Shred. It wasn't so bad today. I guess my body is adjusting.

CAKE: I love you so much more, because you love crockpots. :) I hope your next BL WI goes well!

Matilda: Maybe we can help. Maybe the next challenge can be food accountability? Posting meals/grocery lists for the week? Or maybe trying one new healthy recipe a week? I was thinking of adding something from the Beck Diet Solution too. You're doing good on the elliptical. After a couple of weeks, you're gonna love it!

Brie: SO glad you shared!!! I didn't wanna be the one to tell your business. CONGRATULATIONS!!! So happy for you! And Cake is right! I can definitely help you avoid the mistakes I made during the move. We're keeping you on track!!! :D

Matilda08 09-18-2009 10:29 AM

Good morning Ladies! Happy Friday to you all.

I went to the gym today and did 30mins on the elliptical and again that machine aint no joke. I think Ill start doing that for all my thirty min workouts.

Beaka that sounds like a good challenge

Bejeweled congrats on your new job I wish you the best!

beaka 09-19-2009 10:29 AM

Hey ya'll! i just got in Day 5 of the 30 day Shred. I hinda half-did the first circuit, so I plan to get some extra exercise in today.

I hope ya'll are having a happy, healthy, on plan weekend. I'm about to go pick up some groceries and try to do some stuff around the house.

My plans for the forum this week: A challenge on food accountability and making an advantages response card. I'll come back and post more on that. Should I make an "Assorted Chocolates" challenge thread? I kinda feel that there are so few of us posting consistently that it's easier to keep it all in one place for now.

Anywho... have a good day ladies!!! :)

CakeBatter 09-19-2009 12:24 PM

Hey Ladies! I am just checking in. I did pretty well yesterday. I hit the gym for the longest 30 minute run OF MY LIFE>>>>okay well maybe not my life but it was longer than normal. I did pretty well on my points yesterday as well. I just mercked a 1/2 c of schezuan chicken and 1/2 c of fried rice. Emmm it was good. I skipped breakfast so i had enough points. Well hope everyone's weekend goes great.

 girls.

Sorry I've been MIA, I've been in such a funk the last week or so. I did manage to take care of two things so that less I have on my mind. I feel a little better. My eating has been pretty good except yesterday when I had a marathon reading session fueled by Pepsi. :dz: I'm on the hunt for a second job.....again. I hope you are all doing great!

New Weekly Activity!!!

Hey ya'll!!!

So who's ready for a Challenge?!?!?! Or maybe we should just call them weekly activities?

Here's what I want us to all do this week:
1. Post in this forum at least 1 time per day.

3. Try 1 new healthy recipe this week. This is something I'm trying to do more of. I made falafel with cucumber yogurt dip and had it in a pita with veggies yesterday. I plan to do veggie a lot this week. I plan on making black bean burgers and pita pizzas this week too.

3. Make an Advantages Response Card. Make a list of the advantages/reasons you want to lose weight. List them in order of importance on the front and back of an index card. You'll read the card at least two times a day. You pick the times! Also, read the card whenever you find yourself struggling with cravings, temptation, or sabatoging thoughts. You might want to make copies of the card to put in convenient places like your purse, desk, etc.
Some examples you may want on your card:
  • I'll look a lot better.
  • I'll be able to wear a smaller size.
  • I'll be have more energy and move around better.
  • Tyrone (or whoever) will wish he still had me
  • I'll have more confidence.

I'll post the things I'm putting on my card tonight or tomorrow. I hope everyone participates! Next week, our weekly activity will be food accountability, so get ready!

As for me. TOM started, so I have yet to make myself do the Shred. But I WILL do it today. I'm afraid if I don't it'll be a slippery slope to not doing it at all. Add I need to take some pictures of myself! I didn't do it before I started the Shred and today will be day 6 (20% done! Woohoo!).

Looks like everyone is doing well, so I hope this good streak of motivation continues in all of us!!! :D

Beaka I'm In

Okay I will pick up my index cards after the gym! I have no idea what I am going to try for the new recipe. I want to do 30DS and still haven't picked it up. I think I post at least once a day, so I am good on that.

I have done O-KAY this weekend so far. I haven't gone over my points so that is a plus!

Okay off to the gym at half time!

JasonsLea 09-20-2009 04:47 PM

Congratulations Brie!

Oooo, I have the new recipe I wanna try out this week, Greek style Chicken Wraps!

WI was good today, I got rid of all the water weight from last week and a smidge (.4) of actual weight. :)

How is everyone doing?

CakeBatter 09-20-2009 05:28 PM

WTG SHARI - Things are looking up

My recipe will be WW's Tortilla Soup. My mom said it was really good.
