Sorry I haven't been checking in much, but it'll likely be that way until I get my PhD apps in. I'm glad you ladies are still on track. I'm not doing the best with my crazy schedule, but I DO still plan on going into 2010 less than 200 lbs. Kepp up the good work! :carrot: |

I hope everyone had a fantastic Halloween! I actually braved the RiverWalk with a friend and her son. Managed not to have a panic attack, got to see some pretty cool costumes, and got in over 3 hours of walking! That's a win in my book. ;) Oh and the only treat I had was an outrageously priced mini-cup of cinnamon-chocolate ice cream. :D WI was today and I'm down 2.4 lbs! Yay me! |

Hey ladies I start ChaLean tomorrow and will continue to run as much as I can with the videos. I know I will be very sore but Im gonna try to push thru it. My goal still stands I just need to get my diet while at work under control. How do you ladies handle to the holidays? Do you stick to your diet or do you let loose for that one day, wknd, or month. I havent been home for the holidays since college so I dont get to chow down like I like so my wt stays pretty steady its just gain from the whole yr I have to worry about...haha!! I hope to push thru this holiday as I go home for a wk with my family and grandmas cooking. Since Ill be doing ChaLean and Im into my running I think Ill be okay

Hey, bablou00! This is gonna be my first time really being on plan through the holidays. I'm pretty stuck on being under 200 in the New year, so I definitely won't be messing that up during Christmas. I'm only flying home for 4 days, so luckily I won't be around the temptation for long. I plan to let myself eat what I want, BUT I won't let myself eat past being full. I haven't been home since July. There are so many places at home that I love and miss going to (like my fav pizza place). But at least now I know when to stop. So I plan to let myself indulge, but not over-indulge by getting smaller portions.

Hey Chickies! I am back from my month long hiatus (or somewhere there abouts) I just got back from my cruise to the Bahamas on Sunday. I haven't weighed myself yet that will be tonight. I am re-comitting myself because I have been playing around every since I hit my 50lbs mark. I had not paid my WW subscription for two weeks and they kicked me out :o. So I paid last night and it seems from my online account that they have started me over *sigh*. so I I am going to start myself over as well. New ticker, new goal, new attitude. I will post the correct starting weight tonight.

Hi Ladies I found 2 great workout videos you may like. I found them on Exercisetv on demand. IF you have Time warner cable you should be able to get it.
The one I did last night was called Disco Abs. I wasn't able to finish it but It was a lot of fun and kept me moving. I also liked it because I didn't have to get on the floor, or do push ups or crazy stuff like that which I can't do. Just fun dancing. A lot of music was from the John Travolta movie. Staying Alive. The other one I just looked at the preview of it on Exerciseondemandtv. Take a look it's called African Beat Latin Heat. Lots of Drums and it looked fun. I got mine at half.com Hey for 8 bucks I can try it. |

Welcome Back Cake! How was the cruise? Bablou ~ I'm actually not stressed about the holidays. I probably won't get to see my family so it'll be just me and the pup. I might hang out with some friends but I've already called several side dishes and at least one pie so I can try some healthier recipes. :D TOM decided to finally show his face last night (2 weeks late) so I'm relieved and very cranky today. :lol: I hate Bally's. I miss the Y. |

Babalou - Those videos sound fun. I finally got my arse in the gym last night and it felt great. I ran 5 miles and while the first 20 minutes were like a slow death.....I was fine after that. I can't give up I have a HM in a week and I am GOING TO FINISH IT! Plus I weighed last night and I gained 5 pounds. I am not exactly upset about it, but it woke me up and made me realize that the battle is not over, and I have to keep fighting wether I am Losing OR Maintaining....that is all! I love you girls and missed you very much! |

WoW wee! I am so sore from my run last night! 7.5 miles and I am beat! I am crosstraining today and then 9 miles tomorrow. I can do this....I can do this....I can do this....
My food has pretty good so I hope to drop some of this "cruise weight" by thursday. Funny how long it takes to remove and quickly it can come back |

Been doing alot of thinking today, trying not to fall into a pocket of deep depression. TOM is basically over and if this morning was any indication, tomorrow's WI will not be pretty. :dz: It's all my fault of course. I lost complete control this week. Tomorrow is a new week, I suppose. :halffull: |
^^^ YEs this is why I hate the winter time and living in the midwestern area. I get SAD in the worst way. I am hoping that I dont let it effect me this year as I will keep on working out. Im just worried about running and the cold. The ChaLean videos are great and I would advise anyone who likes to work out at home to check them out. They say the first month you really dont see a lot of weight loss just changes in your body then by the second and third the wt drops off. I weighed myself before I fly home and I was 146ish. My parents dont have a scale so I jumped on the Wii to weigh myself today and it said 144. I told myself not to get too excited and to wait till I get home. I want to be consistent w/ my scale.
Cakebatter congrats on your 7.5 miler thats great. I need to push myself to do more then 6...its my next little goal Thanks for the warm welcomes everyone. Im trying to get a feel for this site. I see this thread was started off of another about hair and working out. I love talking hair and am newly natural. I know the woes of working out when relaxed and its tough dealing w/ that. Well I hit the gym again tomorrow for a 9 or 10 miler and then tapering for the race next weekend.....which I am soooo nervous About. But anyway I have been doing well with my points and I am HOPING to be down at my next Weigh-In.
bablou - I am newly natural as well!!!! I am 7 months post relaxer. My hair started short anyway from a asymmetrical bob. I have chopped off most of my relaxed ends except about 1/2" - 1" left. I am wearing braids the rest of the month though. My natural hair started due to trying to keep my hair decent while working out and I was tired of being chained to it. I have use the Chalean videos but other than dancing in the club I have bad coordination for that typ e of stuff, even though it was fun. shari You are right it is a new week! And you will be fine...We all get down, but the key is getting back up....so up, Up, UP you go! :hug: |
