Kel how cute. Also silly heads should NOT have had anything sitting on stove with kids around let alone a teatowel. I am really paranoid about that sort of thing. Even when I was little I was taught not to put anything on stove. We have a simmer hot plate on ours and u only have to tap it and it turns on, and HOT............... simmer my a s s lol.

Ani 42 blerk. I thought i was sweltering at 36 on Friday. Yesterday at 3pm Matt got paged and had to take fire truck to Texas. Grass fires were starting to threaten the forestry and strong winds. They started a backburn and also had planes dropping water. He got back at 10 last night. Today was pretty good but still a little windy.

I've just been teaching myself how to play Augie March - One Crowded Hour on the keyboard, been fun. Typed all my letters and resumes so just have to send off now and HOPE i get a nursing Job. Big W really sux at the mo.

Gotta fly have a smoke b4 i brush my teeth for ni nighs.

Very quick 'hi' as I have limited internet access (getting close to maxing out my monthly wireless rations!)

I arrived last monday evening, got the keys to my house and literally crashed on the floor with the dogs and cat.

Went on a massive shopping spree early Tues and bought a load of furniture...only the essential stuff...and a TV

Was told none of that could be delivered until Thursday...so spent the next two nights sleeping on the floor! Hate to say it, but thank gawd I had some fat on me to ease the pain of the hard floor!!!

Have had airconditionersinstalled in two bedrooms and main living area...however since organising that have come to realise 34C is nowhere near as uncomfortable as the 40+C I was used to...so that was probably not as urgent as I had thought. Nevermind...the job is done now.

Have been informed I have a massive tree in my yard that is full of ants...been advised to get rid of it...$1200 thank you!!! And I paid for a pest inspection prior to purchase!!!

Ani (Bunnings Guru you!)...any advice on getting rid of the juicy green ants that bite? They nest in clumps of leaves high up in the trees. My yard is full of them!!

I have a Bunnings store just around the corner...but it seems to be run by kids! When enquiring about my ant problem the girl dealing with me was more obsessed with saving the life of a worm that was left on the counter from the previous customer who bought some potted plants!! The freakin' worm wasn't even 5mm long!!! I left and bought some home brand surface spray from Woolies instead!!

Was told on friday that my belongings that I had put on the truck with an ETA of the 19th is sitting somewhere in Perth!!! ETA is now the 28th!! Grrr!

Weight...I am eating at regular meal times, not gorging on fast food (although have had a couple of meals from Red Rooster, more out of convenience rather than splurging!). Unfortunately my mother is here with me and is doing the cooking! She is my biggest critic when it comes to my weight, but she still serves huge portions! I've asked her to cut down the portion sizes...which she has done...but has started preparing morning and afternoon tea!!! I start work on the 27th so that will get me away from that during the day...and I'm sending her home a week later! When she goes I fully intend to take control of my diet, exercise and weight-loss!!

Must go...this was only intended to be a quick 'hi'!!!

Great to hear from you Lindor, it sounds like you're getting well settled despite a few hiccups. That sucks that the truck with all your stuff is stuck in Perth though, I hope it gets to you soon.

Kel, well done for avoiding the fast food and for having the willpower to say no to fish n chips

I had a reasonably good weekend. Went to the gym on Saturday and for an hour long walk yesterday. Not so good with food on Saturday night as a friend came over to watch movies and she brought crackers and dips which I fair scoffed down.

I've realised that that is my biggest weakness - snacking while watching tv and not thinking about what I'm eating. I need to stop doing that as I'm sure that it's not helping my weight loss.

Goals for today: Stick to my points and have a good workout at the gym tonight.

Hope everyone is well

i stayed the same
so "at least it wasnt a gain"

julia - i reckon if you cant help but snack in front of the tv change what you snack on OR keep it in check give yourself ONE cup of popcorn and MAKE it last the whole show or something
or change to boring food you dont want to eat and maybe you wont snack on it? or take up knitting as it is more a distraction fidgeting thing i reckon.... maybe??

woohoo lindor in darwin safe and sound with all her stuff on its way
why not get your mum being creative and give her fancy smancy cookbooks to get h ealthy recipes out of - or get your mum to plan your meals, tell her how many calories you are allowed and get her to do it...... hehehehehe getting her working with you not against you? cant believe your stuff comes the day after you start work!

vonni - i hope you get a nursing job really really soon, is it warwick you live and are loooking for work?

i have just "lost" the digital camera so i am freaking out a little coz the last i remember i had dropped it next to the car in the driveway - now did i pick it up and leave it on the roof and lose it on the road? or did someone steal off driveway or am i not seeing it somewhere in the car?

Yep Warwick. Went around today putting in applications. Aged care home would be great for medication and wound care experience. And to become more knowledgable about chronic conditions. And EVERYONE in aged care is on antidepressants lol.... Gen WHY is that? lol. I reckon depression prob side effect from the combination of all the other drugs they r on. And I know they do use some types for behavioural problems..... but really.... ALL OLD PEOPLE ARE BADLY BEHAVED?????

Sry, just a rant.

I really enjoyed my surgical prac too. Love to get into obs but EENs have buckleys in that department here.

After my disappointing weigh in last week I was really hopeful of a better result yesterday so was not impressed to find that I've gained 200g.

I know that I'll just have to be patient and the weight will come off in time but man it's frustrating!

I dropped 0.9kg this week and weighed in at 71.3kg . I'm VERY happy with that!

I also passed Norseman on my 'virtual walk' and have turned east, heading towards that big, big desert .

Lindor those ants (which I think are called weaver ants) seem to be considered little heroes of the insect world because they are thought to significantly reduce fruit fly. Give your local Department of Agriculture a call and ask for their advice about managing them. Not surprised to hear about the kids at Bunnings - we all have that problem.

Glad you're there safe and sound!!!

Vonni why are you gaining weight? I'm a little worried about you - are you OK?

Kel I think it's a good thing that you maintained this week. Maybe if you try and drink a little bit of water, and then just change ONE habit with your food, that will help.

Julia it sounds like you're going really well.

Hey Gen, how's life in the freezer?

Amy where are you?

My aim for this week is to at least maintain. Usually when I have a really good result on the scale (and today surprised me), I let myself have a "little bit extra", and that's one of the reasons I'm so slow at losing. Maybe a bit of self-sabotage, maybe a lack of self-belief… I'm not sure. But this week I want to really focus on ensuring that I 'hold my ground'.

Anyway, I'm up at this ridiculous hour because I start work at 6.30am - better go and get ready. Have a great day everyone!

Julia take a deep breath! It's frustrating - I agree, but there are so many reasons why our bodies hang on to weight. Sometimes when you start exercising again your body will hold on to water for a bit - for your muscles.

Remember all the positive things that are happening: you're stronger, more focussed, making better choices to fuel your body - it will pay you back. It really will .

nope not ok. I am but i'm not... does that make sense???? It seems the more I am dealing with the more i have to deal with extra.

Kids are being right royal brats and i need a beak, SERIOUSLY. I wish someone would just come and stay with my kids while I take off for two weeks to rest and recuperate.

I have a 14yr old REFUSING to return to school, he was hardly at school last eyar always truanting. My 8 yr old is bored of holidays and being a downright bully to her sister and is being a bossy MESSY brat. My 2 yr old is being MESSY and she needs a mute button. In saying all this, i do love them, but i am at the end of my sanity.

I have my nuclear scan done on thyroid next thursday. will let u know how that goes. Maybe thats why i am gaining??????? Tho usually if cancerous Dr said u lose weight so she is stumped.

Even now i snuck in to post, and i have Ebony pulling my hand off keyboard for attention.

i thought the other day vonni how amazing you are as i was trying to control myself when jemima weed on the floor for the second time in an hour...... you are toilet training etc etc etc etc and trying to look after yourself
i bow down to you!!!!

and i did 13 mins on the cross trainer when i got home from tupperware at 10pm tonight - i made the decision on my way and stuck with it
tomorrow i will do at least 13 mins as well and try and go for a walk with jemima
i need to move
i drank more water this arvo too when i usually would have grabbed a soft drink

i just need to incorporate all the food i like into a plan so i CAN have my cake and EAT it too and realise that no one is going to steal the cake so i dont have to hide the cake in my belly

Oh Vonni, I don't know what to say other than I hope you can get the support you need and I hope you are okay

I had a great day with food yesterday and did 55 minutes cardio at the gym. I snuck a peek on the scales and after saying 88.1kg on Monday, it said 86.9kg yesterday. Not sure if I should change my weigh in day or stick to Mondays and see what happens over the next few weeks.

I've been up since 5:30am today especially to watch the inauguration and that was very exciting

Thanks guys but as they say keep soldiering on. Plenty of people have bigger probs than me so.........

Kel..... Yep Skintastic was great. My tatt has lost NONE of its colour and its been nearly 4 years now for that one. Even the one on my arm done by their 'apprentice' is good. has some fading but sunlight does that and there is no way around it. Had no probs with them. They healed well without any dramas.
