Yesterday the sun was out and had a cool breeze. But looks like we will be expecting rain some time today! Just want it to wait till the laundry is dry! I reached my goal for yesterday! Now only 5 more lbs to go to hit my mothers day goal! I wont complain about gas Thurs I filled up the truck at 1.18/L it cost $97.00. I was very tempted to pull a drive away! LOL joking LOL. It just means much more bike riding! And as for hoidays I think it will be one campng trip somewhere near Owen Sound where the kids will go for camp. Save a few multi hour trips. But for the rest we will be checking out the local bike trails for hor family time.

Well we started out with rain this morning, ended up with lovely sun this afternoon with a cool breeze. Went out for a short walk and it was nice. They are still calling for that ***, but hope they will be wrong or it won't stay long. The temps have started to fall and dark clouds are rolling in from the southwest at a very high speed ... hmmm ...

Hi everyone,

Well, the body scan on Friday was troublesome, and the blood test results weren't all in, so the doctor wouldn't see me until he had the whole package. A little worrisome, and I was going to put off starting SBD until I got through all that.

But I've taken the bull by the horns and called a do-over day today. I have a new scale that seems more accurate, so you'll see I've re-done my weight tracker. And I'm starting SBD today, regardless of the scan results. Either way, I need to lose the weight to feel better, so why put off?

I'm glad everyone's in pretty good spirits (and flu bugs are starting to give up!). Our garden looks in better shape now that it's trimmed and started flowering. We're cutting down a diseased tree in our front yard this year, so I have images of trees (smaller one, though!), shrubs, bulbs and seeds dancing in my head. Oh my! :o

Hi Danielle. I think if you look up to the top of this page you will see JuliaHood is on the black team with you. I thought about joining TBL challenge but my summer schedule is so erratic I figured I'd miss too many weigh ins. I've signed up to do the Memorial Day 5K, which is our May 24th (but the weekend after the long holiday weekend). Good luck to all the biggest losers.

Danielle - We can kick butt on TBL challenge! We are planning on getting a WII in Sept. Didn't want to get it now as we want to be outside with the kids as much as possible. Have you heard about the Wii Fit? Looks awesome!

We had a sunny day with a cool wind. Was nice for the bike ride to church came home and did mapquest and found it is was 6k! Kinda impressed that me and the kids could do it. DH is a fitness geek so there was no question of his ability to do it!

Isabella - I signed the family up for the 5k too. The kids are loving the more active mommy! My hubby's family is from the rock. We are planning a trip there for summer 2009. But hey airfare might be cheeper than the drive!

Just another Manic Monday . . . at least for some of you . . . nothing exciting planned for this old retired lady. :lol: Never know what might turn up, of course.

Hope one of the things that turns up is the sunshine they are predicting for all of NS except Cape Breton -- :shrug: -- guess I live to close to the island because, once again, there's no sign of sun around here yet.

BTW -- I've got a Wii and I love it -- have the Sports package (that comes with) and the Play package and Boogie as well as a little thing called Catz (who are trying to save their world). Really want to get DanceDance Revolution -- but it's as scarce as the proverbial hen's teeth around here.

Hi All, overcast here this morning and a bit chilly. Had to put in the wood furnace to warm up the air for mom. I'm going to take her shopping today. We haven't been out together in over a month because I was so busy doing the vegetarian cooking demos. My DH is coming with us so I'll either be pushing mom's wheel chair or a cart.

Julia, if gas prices keep going up, I might have to learn to ride a bike. And you might have to do a bike trip to NL. I'd love to ride a bike but have a great fear of heights and when I'm on the bike I feel as if I'm way up in the air. (I don't feel this way on my exercise bike.) I blame all this on my mother who wouldn't buy me a bike as a child. When I turned 40 my DH bought me a bike and I promptly fell off and broke my arm and haven't ridden since. He suggested, just yesterday, that I get a tricycle. :)

As they say . . . great minds think alike (and fools seldom differ) . . . I was just thinking that those adult tricycles look like fun. :lol:
