Hi

Back to work this week and it has been hectic. Doesn't take too long for you to feel like you didn't have a holiday at all

Petra, so happy to hear that you are getting a new dog.

3.5 days without power - I'm not sure I would know what to do with myself !

I'm heading out of town for a few days as I have a session for school on friday/saturday, so if I don't make it back before then have a great weekend !

Good luck with school Louie. Hope your eating program is going well. It's easy to get off track when you start to get stressed out.

I'm on call again starting today for the next week. This is when I start to get stressed out so I'm hoping this will be different. I do have some healthy food in the house which is a good start.

I hope it's going ok for you Petra. Good idea keeping OP foods around. Relax & breathe .

Isn't that the truth Louie? LOL sometimes I would prefer not to get any vacation at all rather than come back to what piles up on my desk!! Hope your trip is good!!! NAWWWWWWWWWWW

Things are back to normal back here. My scale is broken tho..... I never thought I'd be a scale stressor, but I'm stressing cuz I can't keep a daily accountability. I'm going to talk to Dr. about going off of Byetta. My stomache hurts so bad these days it's just not worth it. But I still have a $200. pen I haven't even opened yet. *sigh*.... no miracle cure there. When will I ever learn?!?

Today will be on track for me~~~~~~

Hugsss D~

Don't we all wish there were an easy way. That is my issue all the time Dee. I get stuck on the fact that this is so much darn hard work. I hope your weather is improving.

I'm on call this week and so far so good. No major disasters.

I keep asking Kobe what he wants his new dog to be like but he hasn't been much help so far.

Hope to hear from more of the PIC chicks soon.

HI guys!

well a few more weeks of freedomand then the new semester starts... Dee I am wondering about ur tummy as last night I had a very bad experience, starting feeeling sick to my stomach & indigestion @ 4 pm yesterday .. then was introduced "HELLO LISA I AM YOUR GALLBLADDER... NOW CURL UP IN THE FETAL POSITION & JUST TRY TO BREATHE" omg... I have a very very high tolerance for pain but that was just tooooooo much, this was the second major attack the 1st time i wrote it off as a 24 hour bug ... but after researching I am pretty sure its Mr. Gallbladder.

looking back I can remember other mild symptoms thru the years but this has become a major issue now... I have a drs appointment next week but my family dr is just a country bumpkin dr... so hmm what type of specialist takes care of gallbladder? endocrinologist ?

Anyways.... after all that I think I better get on the stick and watch my food intake,, at this point I am pretty much afraid to eat anything.

Petra, I know u are looking for a purebred GS, just wanted to mention that I had a purebred german shepard and purebred lab mix once was the most awesome dog ever!

ok gonna get outside and take the "chai monster" for a walk since the sun is out and shining...

Hi Everyone,

Dee I'm glad you survived without power. That must have been crazy.

Curly I had gallbladder (sludge) a few years ago and my doctor suggested I have it out. Instead I changed my eatting habbits and it seems to clear up on it's own. I haven't had another mri but I it just feels better. It is hanging over my head that it could flare up at anytime.

I hope you're feeling better soon.

I gained 4 pounds over the last month which I wasn't surprised about. After I broke my arm I couldn't exercise at all for the month. The good news is after exercising last week I lost one pound. So my ticker is only going up 3 more pounds.

Curly, its a gastroenterologist that takes care of gallbladders but if you need it out you need a surgeon. A good internist should be able to order the needed tests to confirm that is what the problem is.

I'm driving to AL next weekend to look at dogs. There are enough to choose from that I should be able to find a suitable match. I keep telling Kobe to "think German Shepherd" LOL.

Curly-I'll give you a hint. He should order an ultrasound. If that doesn't happen, maybe you should go see another doctor.

I have my appointment with my new primary care doctor on Thurs. I need someone to hold my feet to the fire about losing weight so I don't end up on blood pressure and cholesterol meds. Also, I'm going deaf (for real) and need to have my hearing retested. This started in PA but I think is getting worse. I have not heard my pager go off a few times this week. I may need a hearing aide at this point.

Well went to the grocery store tonight and got my supplies for healthy lunches, since my lunches lately seem to be my down fall....

I am gonna see about setting an appointment with a specialist. I am sure I will get blasted when I go to the GP friday... since my weight has continued to go up... well the chai monster is whining so that can only mean one thing... brrrr its cold out there too!

Hey PIC's,

I have been trying to get on the site but I keep getting hung up. It's been happening a lot lately. 3FC is the only site I have this problem with. Anyone else???

So.... I hope your feeling better Curly. I've had 3 other ppl tell me I should check out the gall bladder- based on where this pain is. I've been dx with gerd for years, and a side effect of byetta is acid so I've just been chalking it up to that. But it's really getting unbearable, and I'm noticing it has lots to do with what and how I'm eating..... Thinking about the cost of a specialist and diagnostics tests isn't helping either lol... we'll see what happens. I'm curious to hear what's up with you!

Petra~ That's so exciting. I want a dog soooooo bad. My friend has 3 puppies left. Thank goodness Lee and I have not seen them at the same time. Right now I can say no cuz he would kill me and he can say the same. We're both suckers for a cute animal tho and if we ever got caught together we'd wind up taking one lol. There is just enough sense in each of us to know we are not ready for a dog at this time. Does Kobe get to go with you to see how he and the new one interact?

Val~ I was inconvenienced by our power outtage, but our weather was next to nothing compared to other parts of the world. I try to look at it as an adventure lol. Glad to hear you're back in the saddle again gf. you'll have those 4 lbs + gone in no time I bet!!

I'm still staying steady. I fluctuate each morning from 233-234.5.... seldom above or below that. I've had a real bad week for sweets. I have eaten some sort of candy every day. Today I did buy a sugar free chocolate bar that I'm savoring and just having little pieces of. I plan to make it last four days.

You all enjoy your eve/day and i'll get back when I can again.

Hugssssss Dee~

I have trouble getting on this site too. I think the server gets overloaded. Just a Jan. thing I think with all the new people.

Yes, I get to take Kobe with me Sat. It's a long car ride. 3.5 hours and he isn't the greatest in the car. I'm going to put his crate in the car so maybe it will go a little better.

Val-glad to hear you are feeling well enough to exercise again. You go girl! You were the exercise goddess.

I got a call from a new nursing home yesterday. I'm going to visit them on Tues to set up my arrangements with them. Things seem to be getting settled. I'll have to find dog school soon too. Talk to you all later.

awwww poor kobe. I don't do well on long trips (winding coast roads), so I guess I can relate to him hehehe. I so hope you find the dog you both need.

I hadn't thought of the overloaded thing. I asked in another thread also and suzanne mentioned 3fc was just listed in another magazine so the hits are a lot higher. It's just so frustrating

Oh..... about the chocolate bar yesterday? I just have 2 words: Sugar Alcohol. I forgot about that. I ate just enough to make myself uncomfortable all night. LOL.

I'm sticking on plan (whatever that may be) pretty well. Happy with the way I'm feeling right now.

Does anyone read First Magazine? There is an article about weight loss using soy AND whey protein. It's interesting.

have great days girls!!!!!

I was a big believer in the "whey protein" .. it works... its pricey but good! I should go get some! Ive been doing real well staying OP cuz I really dont want to go through another one of those GB attacks anytime soon... hopefully I can quiet it down with diet..

didnt make it to work out yesterday... instead had go go to the dentist and give him all my money I had saved to buy propane (for heat) ... sigh...
$500.00 for a @##$$%%^^ crown! but he said I was very lucky that the tooth did not abcess ... lost a part of my filling and there was a gulley beyond the small crack in the tooth... yep I am a tooth grinder.. at night and when i stress.. I said great as if i didnt have enough to stress about .. now I will be grinding cuz of the expensive crown I had to get..........

anyways.. now that I am broke... I cant afford any junk food hahahaha!

I had my first visit with my new primary care doctor today. She did my pre-employment physical for this job but it took her a few minutes to remember that I'm a doc too. She gave me 4-6 mon. to lose about 20 lbs to get my blood pressure and cholesterol down or else I have to go on meds. My blood pressure was 140/90 today so I don't have much room to play with. She said she'd be my drill sargent, lol.

I had a really stressful day today at work and I'm really looking forward to Sat. I got the second crate out and Buddy's food dish. Kobe has been sniffing around. Talk to you all later.
