Hey Ladies,

Well, believe it or not, here I am.

It's a extremelty difficult 4-5 weeks. I didn't realize how serious my medical problems were. My foot seems to be on the mend. I go Wednesday for more test to see if my blood is getting back to normal. All of this started with I thought was a simple blister on the top of my foot. I neglected it for a week before I went to the doctor and I suppose that was a stupid thing to do. That's how I developed blood posioning. It's really a mystery and I still don't have any definite answers other than something seems to have bitten me on my foot when I went fishing. I don't recall this happening. But hopefully I'm on the mend. It will be awhile before I can get back to do any walking for excersie.

All of this was complicated emotionally by the loss of my dog, Bogart. My companion for 15 years. Putting him down was the hardest thing I ever had to do.

Between these two events in my life, I've battled some depression for the past few days. Don't have a clue as to what my weight may be. But as I said I go to the doctor tomorrow and I'll get a chance to weigh. Shouldn't be any damage done. though. The only thing I'm concerned about is not being to excerise for awhile longer. I've got to come up with some sort of ideas that don't require much foot activity.

As a side note to the high drama being played out in my life, we have been slammed by the rain and floods.
As you all know, I'm from Baton Rouge. I live across the river in a little town called Denham Springs. And we went under this past weekend. My house in town was okay. The camp on the river was another story. That's the price you pay from time to time for having a place on the river. But I wouldn't take anything for it.
Many, many people lost their homes this past week.

Thanks to everyone who sent me good wishes. And for the ones who understood my feelings about Bogart!

Hope to be back full speed soon.
I miss you guys.

Blessings,
StarChaser

KAREN - New windows sounds great. Vince wants to get the kind they have in the Chicago Hilton - you don't hear ANYTHING when those windows are closed. I'm sure we could never afford something like that, but when we dream, we dream BIG!!

RHOO - All I can say is -- if the weather's yucky then they better be darn glad they invited you to pretty things up at all your activities this week-end! You've lost 62 pounds!! I can't wait to wear sleeveless outfits.

TIGGERME - I think we've all been there - done that - got the t-shirt (except Debbie, of course). Just let BOB know to swing through and pick you up when the wagon train comes through town. You'll most likely think about those side effects next time you're tempted to get that Big Mac.

FROG - What a sweetie you have!! I always get all tingly inside when I hear about someone's sweetheart who picks up on something like your admiration of that bracelet and got it for you. That makes that bracelet that much more beautiful! OMG, Spewer definitely has self-esteem issues if you ask me! You've got it together and have more quality of life and that pisses her off - Cause, as that Hallmark card says, "the best things in life aren't things". At least you recognize what she's doing - and SPARKLE is going to be tickled when she reads that you thought about her quote. CONGRATS ON GETTING UNDER 150!!!!!!!!! WHOOO HOOOO!!!!!!!

GATORGAL - I sent in some money. I don't want to see this site go away either. You'd think with as many people as there are who use it they would be getting enough money, but I've procrastinated sending in money and it looks like I'm not the only one. I wonder if they've looked at EZ Board - I think it's free, that's what www.dottisweightlosszone.com uses and I think people can pay to have the banner ads not pop up which helps offset the costs of running the board. Since I quit doing WW I haven't been visiting there very much. Maybe they'll get a surge of money and keep us afloat.

LDBLOND - I started using www.fitday.com after GATORGAL and MELF spoke so highly of it. It breaks out everything for you - and even helps calculate how many calories you're using in a day.

LAMAP - Glad you're feeling better!

DEBBIE - Great news about your Daddy!! Thank you for updating us! That's awesome that there was no damage to his heart!! We use IE at work and there haven't been any script errors for me - I get the whole glorious pop up ad.

NANCE - On the main page at the top right hand corner is a box that says "Help 3FC click here" - I did the credit card thingy since it's quicker and easier. (actually, I think it's up there in the top right corner on every page) Bryers SF Ice Cream?? I'm going to have to check that out - Vince is getting tired of the same 3 SB Ice Cream flavors we buy. He's been buying little pints of Ben and Jerry's to eat while I eat the SB kind - I may be too late because I think he's addicted to the Apple Crumb Cake flavor. I've only TASTED it - and it IS good. It's a good thing he buys the small cartons 'cause I can't sneak any out of those. CSI is one of our all time favorite tv shows!!! (that and Nash Bridges - yes, Vince is a Don Johnson fan) We tape it when we aren't going to be home to watch it. I don't know what we're going to do now that we're in re-run season - withdrawals!! Haven't checked out the FBI show, may have to look into that! So you like Robin Cook, too? I think he's an awesome author - where else ya gonna learn about benobo monkeys??? I'm so glad you'll be able to fit us in between your talking, swimming, talking, and Starbucks runs!! I know I'd go through withdrawals!

VIV - Glad to hear you were not partaking of the poisonous raisins!! I was shocked! Is that blue carpet shag, by any chance? I'm sure your house will be a lovely, peaceful haven for them. Orlando is so city-fied! There are pockets of "country" atmospheres, though, but it's all still FLAT. GATORGAL lives in a beautiful area of Maitland where they have awesome shade trees and big yards. He can look in Maitland (off Maitland Ave or Howell Branch Road). Yes, Dr. Phillips is for the well-to-do. I can e-mail you some information on the different areas and, if I can find it, a web site that gives information on the schools and crime rates and all for the areas. It would depend on where he is going to be working as to what areas I would recommend. Working at Disney you don't want to move to Deltona because it would take at least an hour to get to work. Working in Lake Mary - Deltona would give him the small town atmosphere he's looking for and a big home at a great price. Thanks for the info on White Flower Farm!!!! I'm definitely going to order a catalog today! I wish you could send me some black eyed susans and daisies, too!!! I just love them and can't imagine why I can't find them - they have to be easy to grow, don't they??

STARCHASER - Thanks for checking in with us!! Glad to hear you're on the mend! My Daddy had staph infection in his blood when I was in college and they only just caught it in the nick of time. Take it easy and don't overdo anything. (((((((((((((((((((((STARCHASER))))))))))))))))) Here's a big hug for you!! We look forward to hearing from you whenever you can check in with us. When I was single I'd go to bars and sit at the table and shake my shoulders - kinda dance with the top half of my body - maybe you could do upper body aerobics with BOB's Clorox bottles. We're all praying for things to settle down for you gals in LA and TX.

MELF - Did you make it back?? Is everything okay at your home? I hope y'all are high enough up to not have felt too much of the brunt of Alison!

I'll see if I can find a picture of my Vince-Meister to post. I had to work late last night so I didn't get to go lift weights and it's been since Wednesday and I'm actually peeved about it. I think that means I'm getting into the habit - yeah!!

Well, I just sent in the registration for my 15 year reunion in July. I've got to stay on that wagon and get maximum results in the 5 weeks I've got left. I'm drinking water like a fish today hoping that tomorrow the scales are good to me! Any tips on squeezing out every bit of potential to lose?

Have a great day everyone!!

LDBLOND - I like the words of wisdom. No don't pray for a drought! We'd be back where we started from! Things are drying out. We are dry in our immediate area, but there are others who are still submerged and need our prayers. The ones who are able to start cleaning up will never be able to replace what they lost. The physical things, probably, but the memory and sentimental things, never. Glad you are feeling better.
You do have to be careful with some meds.

LAMAP - My favorite exercise is the pool. When I had back surgery, water exercising was recommended. I went for three years to a class and learned a lot of exercise. I use them every time I go in the pool. I don't know how much it helps with weight loss, but it makes me feel good!

DEB - I, too, keep getting script errors and it's a pain! Annoying! Hooray for Dad, glad all is well. I put a post-it on the puter that I want it tonight at 8:15p CDT! Wait!
it's scheduled 9:15EST, but we're on CDT, so I think that it would be 7:15 here. Ouch! My math may not be too good!! I will just have to check and see!

NANCE - The movie wasn't an Austen movie. It takes place during WWII and was about the people in a town taken over by the German Army. The young man that is in the Winthorpe mysteries was also in it. Darn.......it irritates me I can't seem to
remember the name. Of course the priest was a central character who stood out against the regime! Brit comedies also include "Are Being Served?" and "Keeping Up Appearances" with Patricia Rutledge who is also Mrs. Winthorpe in those mysteries.

VIV - Strangely enough the pool have stayed clear. Probably because my ds has been really keeping it so. The water that flooded the back yard and pool was clear, but the water flowing down the street was muddy. Maybe because the two waters
did not meet is why the back stayed clear. DS probably threw in extra chemicals too.

STAR - So sorry to hear about your flood damage. We are among the lucky ones, I feel so bad for those that lost their homes. Did you lose everything at the camp? Hope you will soon be able to exercise normally. I'm so big I get out of breath even doing the RS "Silver Foxes" tape. So I pulled up a chair and followed along as best I could sitting down. It is amazing how it really helps! Maybe you could try that with a tape.

SOLSHINE - Liked the cartoon.

Which reminds me.........where does everybody find those cartoons and attachments?
Can someone point me in the right direction to read how to do it?

After the rain it is HHH weather. Went out to the freezer to get something for supper and like it or not we are having something the involves hanburger! The bottom shelf was melting. It may be because extra fridge and freezer are out in the garage and it is as hot as you know what.....and that is with the garage door open!

There are two packagess of meat. I can make a meatloaf with one (a fav of mine) and would like to make something different with the other. Will have to scan the recipe file!!

Take care every one. Hope to be at chat tonight and will probably check board later!

Debelli--I haven’t had any pop ups yet. Or if I have, I certainly have not noticed them. Maybe my new computer is so great that it screens them out. heh! heh! heh!

Nance--There was a big push for donations a couple of months or so ago, but then after the first flurry, the donations fell off. It’s pretty normal, because all of us on all the boards on 3FC just keep getting this “free” service. If the pop ups don’t work, I certainly would be willing to pay a subscription fee. Plenty of other web sites charge for using their services. If you want to make a donation now, just click on the section at the top of the main SB screen--that’s the top right where it says something about making a donation to 3FC.

VIV--It depends on where your friend works as to where he should look to live. If he works in downtown Orlando, then he might not want to be too far from there unless he likes to fight traffic. Like any big city, we have that traffic problem. Clermont is a town west of orlando and lots of people are moving there because it still has a country feel. But since lots of people are moving there, it probably won’t be too long before it loses that charm. Florida will never be like New England, no matter where one lives. North of the city about 20 miles is Debary, a small town that probably will stay small. The main problem there is that there is usually a huge traffic jam trying to cross a bridge that goes over the St. Johns River. They are working on building a new bridge, so it will only be a few more years until that problems goes away. Ha! Probably your friend should just rent until he gets to know the area better.

StarChaser--We HAVE missed you and are so sorry to learn of your travails. Glad your foot is on the mend. I probably would have delayed going to the dr. I hate to go to the dr. A closer friend just had to put her dog down TODAY, and she is really crying. I know the feeling. We had a DEAR cat that we still miss. I promise you that it does get better, but it probably doesn’t feel like it right now.

sef--We find those cartoons, pix, etc. on the internet. Go to any search engine such as Yahoo.com, MetaCrawler.com, HotBot.com and type in Gifs. Then hit “search” and a bunch of sites will show up where you can look for pix that you like. Then you select the pix and download it and use it for future posts. Hope this helps.

Gotta go. Have to clean house. DH is eating dinner downtown tonight because he has a late meeting. So I get to “nibble.”

BTW, I don't see UF Girl on this board yet. Guess she didn't want to come on over, or else she has a bunch of exams or something.

Iamap: I'm glad you are feeling better. It sounds like you found your motivation to exercise. Keep up the good work, you are on your way to the next "0".

debelli: I'm glad to hear that your Dad is back to being his old self! What a wonderful gift that he has no permanent damage.
Confessions of a pretty inactive woman, compartively speaking, I try to get up each morning and do a 15 minute workout that consists of Martial Arts/Calastenics. My 8-5 job is a computer job, and I don't get to wander much, maybe an hour a day. When I'm at home I play with my kids, and care for them - 3 hours a day wish it could be more during the week. Anyhow thanks for the tips. I am struggling to stay on weight loss while taking Biaxin, but trying to eat sf/ww foods. Like usual I will miss the chat, this is my special time with my family. Let me know if I miss any important info. Thanks again for helping me with some guidelines.

Nance: I had this problem for a short while too, did you increase your fiber intake or eating more artificially sweetened foods? It helped me to get back into a routine of veggies/fruits/grains at each meal until everything mellows out.
As for the Protonix, I'll pass for now with all that's in my body with the surgery, infection, and my normal stuff I don't want to mix in anything new. I would like to see you for lunch this week, though. Any chance you could come to the house and have a brown bag lunch? Give me a call.

Viv: Welcome back. I'm sorry to hear that you are a bundle of nerves and hope your kids are well taken care of next year. I hope the IL's don't add to the stress to badly, stand tall, your home is your home, something you are proud of, don't sweat your ML's comments.

StarChaser: YOUR BACK!! I'm sorry to hear that your time away from us has been difficult for you. I was unaware of your illness! My immediate prayers are for your full recovery. and then your loss...I lost Max a couple of years ago, it was devasting...and then the rains. That you are still on plan and maintaining through all of this, I'm incredibly proud. {HUG}

Solshine: What a great GIF!

A big hello to all of you I didn't address directly. More later, but for now I have to get back to work! By the way, I saw "Pay It Forward" last night. If you haven't seen it yet, it's worth your time and then some.

Deb, I can't begin to tell you how happy I am for you and proud of you. You truly are a success story in every way and not just because you've reached your goal, which is an awesome accomplishment. The energy and love you express through this forum, as in "real life" (haha) are your true success!

SolShine, thanks so much for dropping me an email alerting me of a new SPEWER story.....LOL! I LOVE those!

Froggie, Sonya is right I was tickled pink that you remembered my FAVORITE QUOTE! It was a huge revelation to me when I finally figured out that I was in control of my own feelings, and it's like everything is falling into place.

It's so hard when you are actually WITH that kind of person, but sitting over here in the Hawaiian sunshine far away from her negative influence, I find it very difficult to see how YOU, Renee, who is awesome in so many ways, could possibly in any way let HER, who is so fake and annoying, "make" you feel inferior! Chicks like Spewer I just pretty much avoid......but who am I to talk because my two best friends are guys and I don't have many women I get along with well.

And happy birthday to you and Cheri!

Anyways, sorry I can't respond to the rest of you right now. I'm having leftovers and battling a rare headache...I think it's the peanuts cause I normally don't eat them.

I've been doing the same, not good and not bad, really want to get on track and full speed ahead!

Love,

Chris

Evening All!

Had a nice day out with Eli, nothing exciting, just SCHMIZING (Jewish for running around). Had lunch at Ole Ole and Carbolite for dessert, had a mix of Pistachio & Strawberry, which makes what they call Spimoni-it was yummy!

CATLOVER, thanks for the congrats and once again, thanks for sending such a nice e-card, and of course, the happy dance picture on the board!

NANCE, missed our morning chat today, but we left early, and I am sure you were still cozy in bed. Oh please, lets not even talk about bad gas-Eli was hanging his head out the window as he was driving today, sorta like when you see a dog hanging out the car-it's bad, really bad My friend Mayra use to work for Panasonic and all the Japanese men fart without warning and then fan their backside, when she told me this, I died laughing-mention a fart story and I'm on the floor dying of laughter. It's interesting to see men complain about gas, like they NEVER do it-YEAH RIGHT! Oh, you CAN have bread with preservatives, I choose not to though. Since starting SB, I try my darndest to cut out all the other garbage in foods. I have something I will try to post soon that I think you would find interesting. How many sisters are you getting together with this weekend-sounds fun! I am sure many on the board will inspire you, but I hope that seeing that it can be done, not only by me, but BEACHFAN as well, will let you know that you CAN do this, and do it without feeling deprived and hungry. Just stick with us (and me) and we'll be rejoicing when you meet goal in the near future (see, no pressure, huh!?)

VIV, an official WELCOME BACK!!! We've missed you on the boards! Congrats 134-lower than you Fl weight-WOO HOO! I'll have to remember the poo, poo, poo next time Oh gosh, I hope you survive the in-law invasion, good luck!!!!

STAR, and an official WELCOME BACK to you too!!! I'm glad to hear you are on the mend and hope things get brighter for you every day. Sorry to hear you too had flooding, I can sympathize with you as I'm sure all of us can. I know it must be hard having one thing after another happen, but just remember, there is always a light at the end of the tunnel

SOL, I was laughing SOOOO hard at the picture of the man at the end of your post-where in the world did you get that picture of Eli? It was too funny-thank you for providing me with such a great laugh!! Where is your reunion? I never went to mine, I was too fat when it came around and didn't want anyone to see me, maybe when the next one rolls around.

SEF, don't ask me about central time, I can only figure out my time zone and Pacific, then I put on my dunce cap from there. I'll e-mail you with some sites for pictures, but I do think BOB has the best selection around!!!

LDBLOND, will e-mail you with the info you wanted, will try to get it done ASAP

SPARKLE, thanks for the congrats-it truly has been an easy road with the help of everyone on this board. Hope you get rid of that headache, peanuts do that to you?

Gotta run and make some chicken I bought today-will see you all for chat tonight, another reminder that CHAT IS AT 9:15PM EST!!!

Toodles!

Hi, everyone! I have been lurking and reading messages for a few days-hope you don't mind! Gatorgal, thank you for inviting me on; you all sound like a great group of women!
I guess I should tell you a little bit about myself. I am just starting my senior year at the University of Florida majoring in elementary education. I have struggled off and on for years with my weight-I have never had a serious weight problem-just always trying to drop fifteen or twenty pounds. I started SB on Friday, weighing in at 168. As of Tuesday morning I was down to 166! My goal right now is to reach 150. So far SB seems really easy; my body really has not reacted adversily to the reduction of sugar intake. It is so inspiring to hear how you all are doing and the excitement of your reaching your goals. Thank you for letting me join your group; I really think that with the support this board offers I will be able to reach my goal!

MEAGAN, WELCOME TO THE BOARD![/b] We're glad you are joining us.

It sounds like you are doing well so far following SB. Don't hesitate to ask any and all questions you may have. We are all happy to help in any way we can. I'm sure you have seen from reading the boards how supportive we are of each other. We have a close knit board that truly is wonderful and we're happy to welcome in another "member". I'm in Miami, Gator and Sol in the Orlando area, BOB (Bigorange) is in Sarasota and LAMAP is in Port Charlotte. If I forgot anyone, I'm sure to hear about it!!!

Hello everyone! It's Tuesday night and I'm FINALLY getting on the board. Ugh!!! I HATE falling behind. Anyways, so sorry. I couldn't get on the board last night. Don't know what the problem was . . . screens just wouldn't load. May have been our connection because Paul's computer wouldn't download the pages either. Anyways, thanks to AMSER and DEB for letting me know that it wasn't the ENTIRE board going wacky.

I haven't read anything yet. Just getting started and wanted to say "greetings!" I did notice SOLSHINE'S "little boy blue" and laughed my head off. Makes me want to go back downstairs and do another 40 minutes on the treadmill . . . just for good measure.

I'll get back on soon, but it's already 8 pm and don't know how long I'll last. Hope everybody had a great sugarfree day. I think I may weigh in tomorrow. Eeeek. I'm starting to sweat already!
Take care.

Gals here's a link to the SB CHAT ROOM

http://www.3fatchicks.com/forum/sbchat.php

Hope to see you in there!

BOB, there are just some things that a woman keeps to herself, and others she tells at the expense of others! Of course you don't think that looks like Eli, you've never seen him in a Speedo!!!!! And, just remember, who holds the coffee-it's NOT the one who brings it home!!!!!

CHERI, no need for thanks-glad you liked your card!! Hope you enjoyed your day!

QUILTER, guess from your post it means you won't be at chat

See you all in the chat room!
