How I wish I had the time to read and post more often.

BOB: Are you in the part of FL that had water damage from storms? If so, have you checked your house for mold? Some types of it can be deadly.

Monet: Just think, in 24 hours you will be resting up in bed with the worst behind you. My favorite uncle is also having surgery tomorrow, so you and he will be buddies in my prayers tonight.

Hello to everybody else! -Ruby

AFTERNOON EVERY BUDDY!

Got started on my meds, feel like poopy....and if this is not enough....we have
plumbing problems...they are here now...the arm has to be replaced in the kitchen so they are outside drilling through the block (which they will not replace) to fix the problem...we have water every where! I'm running out of towels to sop it up....when it rains it pours! $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

RUBY...we are in the area of the first and second storm, but we were lucky and none of it hit us....The GOOD LORD was definately watching over us. The first storm was 30 minutes south of us, and the second was 30 minutes to the east of us....I think they said total damage to Sarasota are was less than 1million and that was wind damage. As for mold, I know we have mold upstairs, (attic) We have been having problems with our air conditioner since they put it in two yrs ago. We are to the point of threatening attorney to get everything fixed. No problems with the old system. The plumber who is here today (same company for everything) said the problem is duct work which they should have replaced at the time of installation but didn't give us the option..said it was all ok...NOT!!!

MONET...STILL THINKING OF YOU....Kick Tom in the butt. He won't forget it and might be on time from now on!

NAT....I think you're right, my resistance is rock bottom right now and I've got to get that built back up. Money or no money, I'm staying home this week and get better!

KEN...{{{{{{{{{{{THANKS}}}}}}}}}}}

JACKIE...Yes, I'm having epidurals...I have a buldging cervical disc and hopefully, this will help my back and shoulder problem. I do have considerable nerve damage on the right side that runs down thru my arm, but I don't know if this will help that or not....
How are your taste buds coming along...anything coming back yet?

COLLEEN...I'm not sure if this is my usual sinus infection or not because I've got alot of upper respiratory congestion....shortness of breath at times because of the coughing etc....

I'm off for now..will check in later....

BOB

Just got in from my pre-op. My arms are both killing me...they had trouble getting a vein for blood...and they wanted about 10 vials filled! I have a huge purple bump where they finally got a vein and filled the tubes from. It sure hurts! Everything is a-ok for tomorrow morning. Its hard to believe its here!

Gotta go get a few things done, so I will check in later!

Oh my, I ate too much at lunch...lol. Yep, you guess it, the beef stew with red wine is awesome!! I added about 1/2 cup to the stew and can instantly smell the difference. It didn't taste good until when I reduced the liquid and then thicken it. I like to add about a tbsp of sour cream right before I serve it. That really bring everything together nicely. Without the wine, it was good, with the wine, it gave the dish another dimension, like Emeril says, "Kick It Up A Notch!"...LOL. Today's lunch was actually big with a mixed green salad added on top of steamed broccoli/cauliflower, not to mention the beef stew over pasta. Now, wonder why I am stuffed?. My consolation is, I didn't eat more than 1/2 cup of pasta...lol.

RUBY : Post anytime you have got, if not, just let us know how you are doing from time to time. I like reading your posts!

BOB : {{{hugs}}} Sorry you had to deal with plumbing problems even when you are feeling so pooped. I will pray for you.

TONI : How are you today?

DONNA-D : How are you? Haven't seen you here for a while.

Hello, all. The scale still sucks today. I'm down 1 from yesterday BUT that still puts me up 5 pounds from Oct.2nd when I weighed 159! UGH! And I'm still not making the best food choices. Definetly need to add more whole foods like veggies to my menu. But I'm staying legal. I'll really try to make tomorrow better. I haven't exercised yet, but as soon as I get off this computer I'm going to do Burn it Up!..really don't want to, but know I better. Don't have much to say, just staying at home today not doing much at all.

Jack-k- Another 4 pounds? You should start feeling better soon with getting that extra fluid off. Good going on the exercise.

My menu for the day:

BF- LC shake and NSA pudding(told ya my menu wasn't that good, lol)
Lunch- I had 1 egg, 1 slice cheese, 2 slices of bacon, and 1 tbsp of mayo on a bagel. Next time I'll skip the mayo with this. It was over 400 calories for this and 26 g of fat. The mayo had 11g of fat just by itself.
Snack-? Maybe yogurt
Supper- will be fully loaded cheeseburger on bun, additional patty, salad with Ranch dressing

I have got to share this conversation I had with my 3 year old dd few mins ago. I was on another website earlier and Jess saw a poster there had a "a cute M&M's" avatar and she pointed at it and said, "hey, that's "M". She has this small container of this little M&M's guy that says "M" on the front of his belly so that is how we called M&M's "M". Here are the rest of the conversations :

JESS : I ate him the other day.

MOM : Oh no, poor "M".

JESS : No, not poor thing, he is with his family now.

MOM : What?

JESS : In my belly.

MOM : Oh, you ate all of them too?

JESS : Yes, and now they can all talk...LOL.

I love seeing things thru my dd's eyes, so funny!!

Default Good afternoon.

We had the best Ruebins last night. Of course the scales reflect it this morning but they were worth it...LOL

Jack-k...4 more pounds!!! woo hoo that's 8 pounds in two days. I bet you feel so much better with all that water off of you.

Laurie...hang in there. It's Mr. Monthly week. Next week I bet you are back down. Plus, girl I saw your picture and you are so thin. You look GREAT!

Colleen....pass the pinto beans. We grew up on beans, rice and corn bread. Of course now hold the cornbread but still love em.

Monet...Austin is about 5 hours from my house. I'm sorry they had to use you as a pin cushion. They do me that way every time I fast. They even went for the hands on two different occasions...ouch.

Julia...your stew sounds wonderful. Awesome on your driving time...you will be a full fledged driver before you know it.

Bob...ugh on the plumbing. Sorry you haven't been able to sit back and rest up from your trip. Praying things settle down soon.

Poncho...you don't need any excuses...you are still doing GREAT!

Off to feed the kiddos some lunch.

Love and hugs,
Crystle

This will be quick, but I wanted to be sure to get on today to tell Monet Good Luck for tomorrow! I will be praying for you!

I have asked Monet to put me on Tom's list to call once the surgery is over and Monet is in recovery. I will post the good word on the board once I hear from him.

So far so good today. I made a huge salad for lunch with chopped apple, crumbled blue cheese, diced avocado, cucumber, spring greens, salad and a lime vinigarette dressing. YUM! Last night Kroger had the tiniest avocadoes I've ever seen 2 for $1. I bought 4 and used the first one my salad today. I might go back and get some more to make a guacomole for the game on Sat to dip with triscuits.

Sorry I can't talk more, I've got to go to a screenprinters and order 500 Bush-Cheney t-shirts for the last home game on the 23rd. Then it's my afternoon to work in HQ.

Cheers!
Susan

ps--Monet--the pre-admittance stuff was the worst part of the whole ordeal and now that's behind you! On surgery morning the only thing that I really hated was when the inserted the IV--but I was pretty well knocked out for the rest of the icky stuff. If you have last minute questions tonight don't hesitate to call (either before or after the debate). ;-) S.

FILLISE: I will call from the porcelain throne...they told me to drink a magnesium citrate this evening. Yuck! Doctor visit went well today... I just got in from CVS, where I got a plastic cauldron and some candy to give to the nurses...thought I would put a sign on it that read, "thanks from the witch in room ***!"

Going to go eat a can of soup before drinking my 'cocktail' !

Hello ladies,

Got up early and got all my exercise in before we headed to my Mom's. Went in and stopped at my Sis's but they didn't have the insulation yet. We will stop back at a later date and get her fixed up. Went in and picked up the furniture. Took it to her house and unloaded it. My Uncle helped us, and I am glad he was there! It was sooo heavy. But it sure looks nice in her house. She has some more stuff ordered, but it is wicker with all the cushions, and has to be made. It will go in her small TV room.

Here is my menu so far today--

B--3 slices turkey bacon, 1/2 c Fiber One, 1/4 c FF milk, (cinnamon, splenda) Lite 85.

s-- apple

L-- Bowl of ham hocks and beans. 2 SF caramel Nips.

I think I will probably eat another apple for snack and then dinner will be Grilled chicken breast, (boneless, skinless) salad and yellow squash.

Some replies;

Monet-- My thoughts will be with you today and especially tomorrow. I am sure it will all be fine, and you will start feeling soooo much better.

Jack-k-- We need the rain too. I can't believe the days we are having.....supposed to be 70 today!! It is absolutely beautiful out here. All the leaves are turning colors and the display is something to see.The mornings are nippy, and the afternoons are gorgeous!! Just the kind of fall weather I love.

Pancho-- Where do you find the flax chips?? Those sounded so good when you mentioned them in the past, and I kept forgetting to ask you where you're finding them. Your Mom's club sounds so fun, wish we would have had one when I was mothering my boys. (Don't let me kid you, I still mother my boys!!)

Keng-- We are still pretty dry too, but I am not going to do any watering as yet.....they are calling for a cooler and wetter weekend. We shall see. We need to be thinking about getting the sprinkler system all blown out.

Ruby--

Bob-- I wasn't sure about mine either to start with, but decided it must be just allergies. I didn't have any lung congestion, just a stuffy head. Stay home and take care of BOB!!

Laurie-- One less pound is good!! Just keep doing what you are doing and soon it will be two pounds down, then three. Soon you will see that 159 again, and it will start sticking around!!

Country-- While dh and I were eating the beans last night, I told him the only thing to make them even better was a big slice of cornbread. I said, "But I wouldn't eat any now", he said "But I will, so why don't we have any??" Ughh, just what he needs. He went to the Dr last week because he hasn't been feeling good, his blood pressure is so high that they immediately put him on some pills. (I told him watching his diet would help wonders for high bloodpressure). He just glared at me, lol.

Fillise-- That would be nice of you to let us know about Monet. Your salad sounds awesome.

Well, please keep your fingers crossed for Brant.....his interview is at 10 am tomorrow. I would so love to have him closer to home!!

Good evening everyone. I've been reading so much on the board its made me really late with posting. Cleaned a bit today. Tomorrow I get a hair cut. Woopie. The temp. is supposed to drop tonight and it be in the 40's. Brrr. I hope I'm not sorry I still haven't picked the last of the tomatoes from the vines. I've taken a hot bath and put on some warm p.j.'s in preparation for the cold morning.... LOL

Teensybean and Monet thank you so much for the pie crust recipes. I'm so excited to have them.
Teensy- Your pinto beans and hamhocks sound so good. I love them. I really enjoyed the pot of 16 beans and ham I made Sunday.

Monet- Prayers for your surgery tomorrow. You'll be in my thoughts..

Jack-K- I'm looking every where for the recipe for the cornbread. I'll find it yet. Will look better tomorrow. Congrads on the weight loss. Hope you're feeling better.

Pancho- MMM flax chips. Wish the health store would get more of choice in there stuff. Those really sound interesting.

Kengjw- Your little girl sounds so adorable. I love your stories about her. Your beef stew sounds just yummy, wish I had a big bowl of it right now.

Bob- When it rains it pours at your house. I'm so sorry your sick and on top of everything having plumbing problems. I hope it all lines out soon and you're back to feeling good soon, with no plumb. problems..

Heartmom- congrads on losing the lb. you'll get back to your number cause you're sure going in the right direction.

CountryMom- Yum on that Rubens.....

Mock Cornbread Great batter for corndogs or hush puppies too. (Add onions) Preheat oven to 400 degrees. 1 8oz. pkg. cream cheese, 3 eggs, 3 Tables. splenda, 1/3 cup atkins bake mix. 1/2 teas. baking powder, 1/2 cup soy grits (Bob's Red Mills Brand) 1/4 cup buttermilk, 2 Tbsp. bacon grease melted. Add a little salt. Beat cream cheese with mixer until blended smooth, add the remaining ingred. and let sit for 5 min. before using. Cast Iron Skillet. Preparing the pan, this is a southern thing, so if you have never done this don't despair it's easy! Preheat the oven with the cast iron skillet in side for 5 to 10 min. Remove to stove top and add 2 Tbsp. bacon grease, return to oven. Once melted remove the pan and turn to coat the sides of the pan, pour the remaining grease in your batter and mix well. Pour the batter into greased pan and return to oven, cook until golden brown on top. If you don't have a cast iron skillet just grease a 9x12 pan and pour in mixture, don't forget to add the grease to your batter! Slice and serve with a big ole pat of butter.

Hey everyone! Deb called me tonight. She had a tooth pulled and was having bleeding trouble with it. She was on her way to get her prescription filled when she called. Things are still hectic with the apartment building, and between Eli and Lauren, she is running around a lot. She says she hopes to get back on soon. Her biggest problem is trying to get past the gizillion emails she finds whenever she logs on. Once she gets through half of them, her free time to get online is gone. Lets hope she can get back on here soon.

I am going to be heading to bed soon. I have to get up and out of here to make it to the hospital at 5:30am. I hope I can get back and post again soon, but it may be Sunday before I can fly by with a hello. I will have Tom post, if I can, and he will call Fillise tomorrow after the surgery is over.

Take care, my friends. I hope there is a lot less of you all when I get back! pound wise anyway....
