Default Good WIW

Hi everyone,
It feels good to be back on the board after ebing away for so long.
Vacation was awesome, I love sitting by the pool reading, finished 7 books in 2 weeks. Also did some SCUBA and just overall had a great time. Only gained 3 pounds,up to 209, which I didn't think was bad considering how hard it was to find SB legal foods. Did eat lots of fruit, veggies and fresh fish, so I think that helped.
Got back in the gym yesterday, and did some major walking yesterday.
Have to go and get some work done, have a great day!

Happy WIW.

Hope the scale is good to everyone today.

I was pleased (not happy) with it. Now if I can just keep it going in the right direction. Eating has been Op all week, and I am determined to keep it that way.

I made the chicken marsala. This cooking thing is over-rated. Monet, I don;'t see how you do it so much. It turned out ok. Not as good as Carrabas but ettable. DD said it tasted too gourmet. I guess we are plain eating people. DD said it was good, but then he says everything is good no matter what. We had salads and mixed veggies and even a small glass of wine.

Tonight is bacon and tomato sandwiches and slaw.

Glad to see so many posts. Now if we could only get Deb back on here.

Melf, prayers for your mom. Alzhemiers is such a terrible disease.

Country, I agree out eating habits stem to how we were raised. My DM fried everything. I have gotten out of that, but we never had a great variety of foods and I find myself stuck in the same mold. Those fries are dangerous. Watch out for them.

Heart, maybe you should talk to your DH and ask him not to sabbatoge your diet but to help you.

Kengiw, welcome back. Don't feel like you have to address everyone. Some days it is impossible. Just jump onto say hi and how you are doing. Glad you are back. What a horrible thing to experience with your DD. Glad she is ok. A friend of mine takes here twins (3 years old) to survival swimming lessons. They actually have to get in with summer and winter clothes on and they teach them to turn over and float and them swim to the wall.

Pancho, I;m with you on the watermelon (even though I don't like it) and pineapple. They are so good for you, much better than chips. hope Lane adapts to her new bed soon. That can be such a hassle.

Toni, fill up on some fruits and veggies. You can fight those evil demons.

Bob, have you started your ark yet? This has been a strange summer weather wise. Glad things have worked out so well for Cathy's move. Just bummed that you won't be visting Lvll so we can get together.

Sef, talk to the therapist. Maybe they can try a different exercise. I believe when your time is up it is up too, but got to worry about those crazy people.

Fruit, 3 miles is great. Don't push for too much more to soon.

Gator, you are inspiring me to get a good pedometer. I have one from McDonald's but they are not very good. Some days I feel like I walk a million steps. Keep up the good work.

Teensy, is there any fruit you haven't picked this summer.

Monet, sorry you are up today. I guess we have to examine our eating and realize we have to pay the piper sometimes. Come on you can do this. We are here to keep you legal.

Wood, glad you are back and had a great vacation. That's some reading.

Hope I didn't miss anyone. I got so involved in reading all the posts, I forgot to make notes all the time.

Have a great OP day. Hope to be back later.

I'm going back to posting my stats. I feel more accountable when I do.

Jackie.

Next time I say I am going to bake a cake for someone, somebody SLAP me. I just CAN'T seem to keep my fingers out of the icing! It is not worth the $$ I get paid to do this, and see the results on WIWs, and feel frustrated. Its hard enough for me to lose without sabotaging myself with icing.

I stopped here for a second to confess/whine about my weakness. I need to get dressed and head on out to Curves, take the cake and work out.

JACK: Cooking is not a problem for me. I do enjoy it, and its easy for me. It doesn't bother me, as I usually fix stuff that is legal, its the baking that does me in. I find I am addicted to sugar. I just can't resist. I snickered about your menu for tonight...you are going from gourmet to basic! I do love BLTs, but my hubby doesn't like sandwiches for dinner. He wants meat and two veggies. He is SO disciplined with his eating, I really ought to follow his example.

WOODFROGS: Its good to have you back! You sound like a someone I could get along with! Seven books in two weeks is about my average! I can let EVERYTHING go for a good book!

Ok, off to Curves!

Good Wednesday Morning Everyone!

Yes, it's me, believe it or not, I'm here. Back, not quite yet, not til after MICHAEL leaves next month, but at least I have my computer back now and can at least try to check in once in a while, until he goes, it's going to be touch and go when I can get on the board.

I haven't been able to check the board since May, I think, if I have, gosh knows, I sure can't remember. I hope everyone is doing well and you've all been behaving yourselves. I haven't a clue of much of what's been going on with everyone or with the board so I'm hoping things are okay all the way around.

To fill you in on a few things since I "spoke" last...(if I've repeated anything, sorry)

MICHAEL of course graduated. I took the video camera, which I am definitely NOT accustomed to using - of course, somehow I turned off the camera RIGHT when he was getting his diploma! What an idiot! He was okay with that - thankfully. Since then, he's done NOTHING. He's on the computer so much it's ridiculous. The laptop we had to use when the desktop was down was able to handle e-mail and I/M and damned if MICHAEL didn't take advantage of it. He's up all night and sleeps all day - lazy kid!

LAUREN, the Monday after school got out she started theater camp, where she went last year. She got the lead role in 42nd Street playing Dorothy Brock and I have to tell you, she was WONDERFUL! Yes, she's my kid, but you had to see the play to see her - it was amazing. Now, I made the same mistake and took the video camera again - this time, the lighting was bad, so at times it looks like ghosts performing, but hey, at least you can hear her! Last week she started summer school for drivers ed. - so in the morning I take her to camp, then go get her at 1:30pm take her to school and then go back and get her at 5:15pm. She's doing THE WIZ next - playing the mean witch, not a big part but one she can belt out her tune to.

ELI & I went to Vegas - had a great time - couldn't get him out of the casinos! We played mostly at THE PALMS which was wonderful - got lots of free food, and free game play - best machines around - well, at least what I saw. It was a quick trip - thankfully, I made it to TJ'S while I was there but didn't bring much back due to our flight leaving at 6am on Friday and nothing cold would of survived, and besides, I know I'm going next month

COMPUTER - what a mess THAT was! Was told we needed a new mother board, went and randomly asked a guys opinion at COMPUSA and he thought hard drive. Finally looked in the phone book, found a place that gives free estimates - guy tells me the same as the kid that MICHAEL knows - I tell him this and he says he may have not done some things he is going to do, so, even though worried, I told him to go ahead - ended up being right, so it seems, cost me $80 to fix. BUT, I lost a lot of information. MICHAEL was able to retrieve most of our stuff before it crashed on an external hard drive but somehow some items didn't get on it and I lost all my info I had from Feb. to the crash, the time I switched from AOL 8.0 to 9.0 - nothing there - all my stuff for the board, all my work on stuff for Ebay - pictures are still on the computer, but none of my important "paperwork". Another good thing about him fixing it, he somehow gave me another year of Norton Antivirus (mine exp. the beginning of this month) and a program called Spy Sweeper.

SB - was good, was bad, was good, was bad, was bad, was REALLY bad, now being good since Monday. It's been hard - wish my nerves weren't attached to my brain and stomach! Trying to get on track and hoping all I have to do won't deter me (much).

I'm trying to get MICHAEL ready to go next month - it's going to be a chore. I had to take him to the Dentist the other day, going again today for Xrays, needs to get his eyes checked, new glasses, blood tests, drivers license, passport - CLOTHES SHOPPING! LAUREN has 1 week off between camp and school and I have to do the same for her - that will be a hellish week, and not to mention, the first week of August, I have to work for my Mom - not the best time for me.

Anyhow, I will try to get back as I can - Ihave to get ready to go.

Oh, can anyone start the board for me next month, on the 30th when I'll still be away???? Please e-mail me if you can do it. THANKS!

{{{{HUGS}}}}

Cool Vacation Has Arrived!!!!!!!

Good Morning All!

I took a week off work starting today, and I don't have to go back until next Thursday!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm sooooooo happy to have a break! We are going to pack up my mom's stuff and take a big load of it to Texas on Friday night, drive halfway after DH gets off work, and spend the night in MS somewhere probably... then finish up the drive Saturday EARLY. We're gonna unload into a mini storage since my stepdad is staying in a small apartment while they're trying to sell the house here... and we're gonna just hang out until Tuesday and then come home. My kids go back to school a week from tomorrow, so it's a last minute break. Plus DH goes to school for work next month!

So... I'm chugging away OP. I've had a few little items that weren't OP, but they were "scheduled" cheats so-to-speak, and I kept it to one small serving. I had watermelon at the family reunion instead of homemade icecream, and one slice of cheese pizza at a pizza party we had. Nothing disastrous and I didn't let it sway me off plan. I consider that a success!!!
I'm still having a hard time convincing myself to drink WATER. Although I've had more than I was before. Went to the DR yesterday and down 1 lb since last month. SLOW, but at least it was the right direction.

MONET - I wish I could get the computer fixed and get back here more often too!! I do much better OP when I have the board for reinforcement! LOL!! I spoke at length with the DR about the thyroid tests, and he feels my levels are all normal. He is sure my thyroid is not an issue, and a lot of my symptoms are from the PCOS and Diabetes as well as the fact that I need to lose some weight (duh). Who knows. I do know that the exercise I've been doing and the stretches have been helping me sleep better...and I've only needed Tylenol 2 days of the last 2 weeks!! I'm worried about the 10 hour trip to and from Texas this week, though. Most of my aches are made worse by riding in the car. I'll make lots of stretching stops... my mom has to stop every hour to tinkle anyway...LOLOL!!!

Hope everyone is doing great... this stinkin laptop is so hard to type on.. but our "real" computer bit the dust and won't even power up!! I guess I should be happy I have the laptop to type on at all, huh?

I'm not sure if I'll get back on before heading out of town, I have to help mom get the UHaul to her house, and then we're gonna pack it up the next 2 days!! I'm going to stay OP while I'm away. Will probably let myself have one small cheat as a reward on the last night there, because we will probably go out to a nice dinner. I might share something yummy with DH Less damage when you share dessert!!

I'll make it a plan to drink at least one bottle of water between pee stops on the trip, too... that should be a good way to up the water intake.

Everyone have a WONDERFUL rest of the week! Hope to get back... if not, STAY OP!!! And if you don't stay OP, don't stay OFF plan! LOL

Hugs to everyone... see ya later!

Oh dang you're ahead of me again. Piddled around to much this morning and didn't get on line to check the board. I'm trying to get up earlier and not sleep so late... I was up one lb. today but its the first time I've weighed all month, so don't know when I did this. Maybe my birthday. I'll finally walk on the TM today and maybe will get a little exercise in at last. Its so good to see so many people posting. It give a real boost to me and I'll bet to others. Better go if I'm to get DH working on the TM. Hugs......

Default Good Wednesday Morning!

Good morning everyone! This will be a quick post as I have to head out to a luncheon in a few minutes!

Eating was good yesterday--and I'm down 2 lbs from when I got back from vacation last week. I'd take a good steady two lbs a week! LOL.

For those of you intimidated by the amount of posts---come to the board anyway! I'm not going to do individual replies today, but it sure helps me to come read everyone's posts and to let everyone know I'm still hanging in. It's great when the board is busy, but don't let that keep you away!

Sorry I can't do the individual replies today, I'll try to get some in tomorrow! But I hope EVERYONE has a great OP day!

Just got in from lunch...she insisted on treating me, since I cook every Tuesday. I did not argue...just joked that I thought we ought to have lunch a couple days a week then! I was not OP at lunch. I ordered something that I thought was ok, but it turned out to be a battered chicken, and one that I have had before and really like. Its spicy hot, with minced carrots, onions, garlic, etc. with it. I ate it up...along with the rice it was served with. I just took my glucophage, so maybe that will help. (yeah, sure...)

This is the end of the cheats. No more. Tonight, I am making a simple meat and lots of veggies. Tomorrow, the same. I may make Gazpacho, which is loaded with fresh veggies. That might help me overcome snack cravings....

TEENSY: Thank you, thank you! The package arrived today. How totally yummy! Did you make them all without sugar? I was disappointed that I was full when I got home and found the package and opened it! I was ready to pull out the ww English muffins and sample some, but I am just too full! I can't tell you how much I appreciate this gift. I am going to be thinking of you whenever I eat some of them! Bless you!

I have full puppy syndrome. (you know that feeling, when your tummy is full and you just HAVE to take a nap?) I am going to go take a short nap.

Check it out... happy face... 157 so down 2.5 pounds from last week. Now if I could just keep it off...agh.

Jack-K...WTG with the eating and walking. If I could get my bootie in gear I know the weight would come off but my lack of motivation is keeping me from going that extra mile.

Deb...hey woman! So glad to see you. Looking foward to when you can get back on on a regular basis. You are such an encourager.

Monet....the problem is frosting was made to be sampled. I'm sorry you were up a bit this week. Hang in there.

Susan...wtg down 2 is great. I'd love to see 2 pounds a couple weeks in a row. Lately it's up 2 down 2...up 2 down 2

Beth..praying you have a safe trip without too much discomfort.

Woodfrogs...welcome back! That's a lot of reading. I go in spurts. I'll read a book or two then back off for a bit. Love a good mystery.

Toni....it's probably just water weight and will be off before you know it.

(((((Everybody)))))))))

Love,
Crystle

Hey, all. Man, the board is hopping. Not alot going on today. WIW sucks for me. I'm "around" 165-166. I have a digital but I would get on and it would be 165, then 166, and back to 165 and so on. So probably 165.5. That's up a pound and a half from last week and if I hadn't binged all day Sunday, I know it would have been around 162. So shame on me!! Here's my menu so far today.

BF- was low carb sf yogurt and 2 eggs. Glass of milk.
Lunch- was an open-faced sandwich(1 slice bread, mayo, cheese, and chicken breast). Was still hungry so I ate a BIG salad(tomato, cukes, onion, 1 boiled egg, and Ranch dressing)..diet coke.
I'm drinking my water..
Supper- will be Ranch chicken(fattening, but oh sooo good! it's chicken breasts cooked with mushrooms and lots of cheddar cheese, hidden valley ranch packet mixed with sour cream and mayo), butter beans, squash cooked with tomatoes and onions.

I'm really looking forward to my vacation next week to Pensacola. We'll be leaving on Thursday and back Sunday. I hope it doesn't rain. I think I'm going to "lay out" in the yard for a bit and let the kids play...

Pancho- yes, I still teach exercise class on Tuesday and Thursday.

BOB- Boogie's doing just fine. Typical boy.

Check back later...

Good Wednesday afternoon!!

I went to Walmart this morning and bought dh a watch for his birthday. It is an everyday watch so not expensive at all. I will see if I can get a babysitter on the weekend of his birthday so I can take him out for a movie

I did weigh in this morning and lost 1/2 lb. My menu for today :

Breakfast : 2 medium pancakes and some scrambled eggs with cheese.

Lunch : Stir-fry spaghetti (Dreamsfield pasta) with shrimps, bell peppers, onions, bean sprout and green onions. Serve with steam basa fish (black pepper, ginger, green onion, chopped garlic, rice wine vinegar, sesame seed oil, soy sauce and olive oil).

Dinner : Not sure yet. Might just be sandwich and salad.

MONET : I have been to Dekalb Farmers Market once quite a while back. What brand is the Agave? Is it Madhava Honey or Sweet Cactus Farm? Your pasta party sounds yummy!! Gosh, you sure is one gourmet cook I am sorry about the 6 lbs up, I can imagine how frustrating you must be. Would food journaling help? Some people said they help them a lot in identifying what they actually eat and what might cause their weight gain etc.

WOODFROGS : Welcome back! Your vacation sounds heavenly. I don't like being in a rush when dh and I vacation, I would rather have time to sit and enjoy the surrounding or do nothing! lol. Sounds like you made a lot of good choices, wtg!!

JACK-K hanks for welcoming me back. I love to be here and will reply whenever I can Dd's swimming lesson has been fun, the instructor was teaching her what to do if she falls into the water. Dd absolutely loves monkey climbing on the side of the pool.

DEB : Welcome back! I am glad the computer is fine now. Congrats on Michael's graduation and Lauren's big role on 42nd street. Wow, you definitely have 2 talented kids

Got to check on dd, she is awfully quiet...lol. Be back to say "hi" to the rest of you later.

Heading home soon.

DD is having a Mark Kay party (sort of). The girl asked if she could come and give her and me a facial. I think now other friends are coming. It seems to have turned into a party and I'm not prepared or up to it. I really don't like their makeup anyway. She was just helping the girl get her required # of facials in. Oh well. Maybe no one will show up.

Got to get the bacon/tomato sandwiches done and the slaw made.

Really tired so probably won't get a walk in. May try to do some wts.

Monet, how about chewing gum while you are doing the cakes. You can't eat icing and chew gum (or can you). Say you promise, no more cheats.

Deb, so good to hear from you. It's just not the same without you. Glad you had a good time in Vegas. Sounds like the kids are doing great too. Drop in when you can.

Beth enjoy your vacation. The whole wt loss concept is when you do have bad, not to go overboard and let it be a license to over indulge. Sounds like you have it figured out. You are doing great.

Toni, hope you get your TM fixed.

Susan, congrats on the 2 lbs. I know it is well deserved.

Country, Yeah! 2.5 pounds is great. Let that be your motivation. I'm never going to catch you.

Heart, sorry you are up. Hang in there. Keep that vacation in mind and it will keep you OP.

Pancho, yes we are going on vacation when all this is over. DH's company is sending us to Germany for 3 days of partying. But we are going to extend it another week on our own. We may take some weekend trips to Nashville and Chicago too sometime soon.

Ken, congrats on the 1/2.

Have a great evening.

Hey friends!

Well, I went for my deposition this morning and I think it went really well. Actually, I talked to my student’s dad afterwards and he said that his attorney said that it was great and that she may want to use me in court. That makes me a little nervous but I’ll do what I can for the boy – he is what matters anyway. He just needs out of that mom’s care – or lack of care! I really tried not to sound like I favored the Dad and I tried to stay in the “professional median” but the dad’s attorney said that I’d have to tone it down a little for court because I came across that I didn’t like the mom. Well, I guess it would sound like that when all documentation I have is negative – nothing positive. So, I’ll have to do a better job with my emotions and y’all know that is HARD for me to do – I’m such a big mouth!

Ok – time to catch up!

SEF: Hopefully the PT can come up with something new for you to do. If not, let me know and I’ll ask Mary. Hopefully the courts will go in the Dad’s direction this time…the child would be much better off. I never heard of that Carb Options Mac and pesto – but I’m glad you warned me about it!!!

KEN: I can’t believe that happened to your DD! It’s amazing how fast those little buggers run when you aren’t looking. The swimming lessons are a great idea. I was one that was on the swim team for 14 years. I started the team when I was 4. I loved it and it is the BEST exercise for you. I was a lean powerhouse when I was swimming.

MONET: Glad the pasta party was a hit. I’m sure everything was wonderful!!! You can bake me a cake while you are at it! That sounds yummy!

WOOD: Welcome back from vacation. Where did you go? You must have not done much sight seeing being that you were able to read 7 books!!

JACK-K: I love you….we must be twins. I think cooking is overrated myself! Your meal plan sounds like mine – something sorta difficult one night and then easy greasy the next!! HA!

DEB: OH MY! Is it really you?

BETH: What do you mean your kids go back to school a week from tomorrow?!?! That sure is early!!

COUNTRY: WTG on the loss! I know that feels great!!

Well, I’m heading out for now. We are going to Outback tonight with friends. I will do my best not to cheat. I’ll get the sweet potato without the butter or cinnamon I guess! See y’all later!

Good afternoon Sugar Buster's!! Happy WIW to you all. The scale was good to me today. I was down 1 pound, but am still over my all time low. But I am rereading the book and am determined to get down to my goal weight of 150!! No more cheats......NO MORE CHEATS!!

Worked out in the yard today. It is now too hot to do anymore, but I got alot done. Took the puppies out with me and let them run in the front yard. They are usually out back in a fenced yard. So they had a great time, and were very good. Now we are just kicking back, they are sleeping, I am on here!!

Monet-- You are so welcome!! The strawberry is all fruit with NOTHING added. Dh didn't think it was sweet enough so you can add some Splenda if you wish. The Raspberry and Cherry I added a small amount of liquid Splenda after I cooked them. (This was to keep dh from wanting to eat t
he high sugar jams.) Let me know what you think. I wish you were here too, it is soooo much more fun to have someone else with you. And what a deal.......70 cents a pound!! Nice and firm on the outside and juicy and tender on the inside!! Alas....I am now done picking fruit until peaches come on, and then apples.

Woods-- Welcome back. Glad you had a good time on vacation.....makes all the packing and stressing worth it.

Jackie-- I am going to try a Chicken Marsala too. I love the Cod Marsala that I did awhile back. Dh doesn't especially care for dishes like that, but I get tired of just grilled meats. As for the fruits....I don't work outside of the home, so I find projects for myself to do. Canning is one of them. And since I can buy the fruit cheap when I go pick it in the orchards, I figure I am saving myself money in the long run. I will not have to buy any jam or fruits this coming winter. I also have a head start on my goody bags for Christmas. A win, win situation!!

Deb-- Nice to hear from you! You are busy as usual. What are you going to do with all your free time when Michael leaves for school?? (Just joking!) Glad you had a good time in Vegas, and you are going back?? Wow, wish I was there. I love casino's, even though I usually just donate my few dollars. It is fun!!

Beth-- Enjoy your time off, even though it sounds like you will be doing alot of work.....packing and moving!! Sounds like you are doing great sticking to the OP way of eating.....wish I could do a better job!!

Toni-- Hello!

Fillise-- Congrats on the loss!! I would kill for a steady 2 pounds a week loss too!!!

Country-- Congrats to you also!!

Heart-- That chicken does sound yummy!! Enjoy your vacation.

Kenj-- Nice to see you again. Will you come and make lunch for me?? That sounds devine!!

Well, that's all folks.....see you later!
