Good Morning everyone,
WIW again, I only gained a pound over the weekend, and since we spent 5 days in San Francisco for a wedding, I didn't think that was too bad. We did walk quite a bit around Fisherman's Wharf.
It sounds like things have really been hopping here on the boards! Sorry that I missed it while I was away.
I've also got this lousy cold(the whole family has it), and it certainly doen't help any. I'll probably go home early today. The husband and I are taking ballroom dancing and we have a class tonight.
Lesbia - I loved to hear that you met your husband on the internet! I did too! And we've been married 2 years. We also know 2 other couples who met on the internet and married. One couple had a baby earlier this year, and the other couple is trying. We just want to raise my teenagers and get them going on their own lives. Good luck with your new hubby!
OK, Deb, don't look now, but here I am posting 2 days in a row. Can you believe it? Well, with my renewed outlook, I've been totally on plan for 2 days in a row. Not enough water, but it was better yesterday. Tonight will be tough, we're going out to dinner for a friend's 50th birthday and I'm not sure where we're going. I am determined to stay on plan, though. Just hope it's not Mexican, those chips/salsa and margaritas kill me. It's actually our 20th wedding anniversary, but we decided to celebrate this week-end (after the Longhorn game of course).
Deb (and everyone else) - Thanks for the welcome back into the fold. Yeah, it was a little crazy with Jordan leaving so fast, but I think it was actually better that way. He was originally scheduled to leave in July. He went to the processing area, couldn't do the required 2 pullups and they sent him back. We were all devastated, because he had wanted this so bad. We got him working with a personal trainer, and he started working out regularly with his recruiter. He worked his tail off. So, just getting this far has been an achievement. I loved the cravings post. I heartily agree with the soup info. I had read that once before and they are right, at least for me. Whenever that's offered as an appetizer, I always try to get that. I find I eat much less and am more satisfied.
Lyn - Those crackers sounded yummy. Did you say you found them at Whole Foods? I saw Deb mention something to you about Aunt Gussie's. Have you found them here? I haven't seen them at all.
ChrisD - Great picture (of both of you). Congrats on doing so well at Carrabbas. I don't know if I could have stayed away from their bread. It is soooo good (I'm sure it's sourdough, right Deb???).
JackieO - WTG staying on plan and getting that exercise. I've got to get the exercise back into my routine. I know I feel better when I do it, it's just a matter of getting my butt off the couch when I get home from work.
Jecrites - I took a cake decorating class once years ago. It was so funny that at the beginning of the class, everyone was licking their fingers with all the icing. After a couple of classes, we were all so sick of it. To this day, I can't stand decorated cake icing.
Teensy - Congrats on all those inches lost. That's wonderful!
Monet - Woohoo, the wicked witch is almost gone.
Jack-K - Wow, your picture looked great. Your daughter is beautiful, too. I take it that was "THE WEDDING". Hope your hip is doing better. I'm with whoever said, try ice. If it's an inflammation of some sort, ice should help. Try 30 minutes on and 30 minutes off.
BOB - Nope, not gone forever. Deb keeps dragging all of us wayward children back. You're right, this is HOME.
Cherylco - Welcome back from another wanderer.
Sef - Congrats on starting the water aerobics.
SuperDave - It's good to see a fellow Texan on the board. We need to have a Texas get-together sometime.
BKM - It's great to see you back on the board too. Are things settling down for you.
Momtomaya - Yes, water makes a HUGE difference. Where in California are you? You may have posted that but I missed it.
Pancho - So sorry you had to witness what you saw. I used to work for EMS here and we used call motorcycles, job security. Kind of callous, but true. Even when the motorcycle driver might not be doing anything wrong, horrible things can happen. It's just not worth it.
Well, I better go and actually try to get some work done. These silly bosses actually expect me to work for my salary. Don't they know I have more important stuff to do??? Have a great day everyone.
Hello, I worked a long day yesterday, and I'm swamped with errands today,so I will have to ga back and read when I have time.
I weighed in at 187, which is what I expected. The last time I weighed was 2 weeks ago and I was 192, so I am assuming that the loss mostly this week, since I ate out all of last week like a pig. I've only been back OP since Sunday, and I already feel healthier and have more energy. I'm not sure why I even bother to eat sugar, since it has always made me feel sick. It sure is a hard habit to break. My new goal is to be to 170 by christmas. (Iwas so close in june, and now I'm right back where I started!!!!!)
Selah is much better today. She is all over the place!! She started to take some steps yesterday. Right on time, since she just turned 9 mos. on Sunday. (please read the last sentence with an assumed tone of sarcasm) Why can't she just slow down!!!!
I have my 11yr old brother all day, and I have to pick up the boys, so I don't have much free time. I may just pick up a rotisserie chicken from sams for dinner, so that I have time to walk before bible study tonight. I haven't exercised all week!!
Here is what I ate yesterday:
B: 7grain hot cereal w/ salt and pepper, no butter!! (I'm finally learning to eat it with no butter!)
S: 3 chickfila nuggets
L: Chickfila Charfrilled Salad with Spicy dressing
S: 1/2 c orange juice
D: side salad
Carbonara (WW/spinach linguini W/ olive oil, parmesan and crumbled bacon)
Water: 80oz
No exercise, again. How am I supposed to find time with 3 jobs and a 9month old?
I'm sorry that I don't have any replies. I'll try to catch up later.
Just woke up again this morning-went back to sleep after taking the kids to school-can't believe it's so late! Still tired. Woke up before 4am and couldn't fully get back to sleep til later on.
ELI is off today so I have to get in the shower and get ready to go, it's late.
Hope everyone fares well with the metal monster today!!!
Trish, take a ziplock bag of trisbuits with you. They tast great with the salsa, and even better with the cheese dip!! When I do that my friends are usually impressed at my will power, anyway...
Make sure to drink a glass of milk of eat a snack BEFORE you leave for the restaurant, so you wohn't be straving when youg et there. I keep single packs of sunflower seeds in my car.
Wow..I missed a lot yesterday. Welcome back everybody!!! It's so good to see ya'll. We are still on vacation..not doing anything other than just resting but it's nice to not have too many committments.
We had a wonderful walk this morning. It's been great only walking once a day. We might walk tonight because the lady I walk with thinks she might want to. She has been there too many times for me not to be there for her.
Sorry I don't have time to post to everybody. Robert just got in and is telling me about his hunt this morning.
I weight in at 234 this morning have made commitments to walk 1 1/2 miles 4 times a week for the month of October, and weight in every Wed. am\nd post it. Thnaks to all of you who have been so kind to me.
Jack_K Thanks for the support, we need to add more salad to our diet at home. My portions are quite large, also. My weight is upa pound also from Sunday. Here"s to our loss at the next weight in!!!!!!
jecrites I think the cake looks great!! I am sure they all enjoyed it, and think of the love that was added with your artistic work.
debelli I added my name to the Bio Board, might as well fill out all important info, as this is a lifestyle change for me and I will alway's be here. Took 4 large trash bags of food to my sister's last week. I am using Frutose now, someone gave me a large bag of it a while back, when I finish it I think I will go to Splenda.
Fillise Saw your info in the Bio information last night, nice to meet you.
Lesbia We seem to have joined about the same time. I am thinking about going to the Health Food store today. Just to see what they have, I bought WW pasta recently, it is a little heaver than the the white pasta, so my family does't like it as well. I cook lots of rice, love Basmiti (only have white, hope to find brown today). Any idea's on the pasta?
beachfan37 I LOVE your quotes, we need all the positive reinforcement we can get, Thank You.
Talitha Hi, Sorrry to hear Selah isn't feeling well. Well I am off to the Health Food Store, have a good day.
Good Weigh-in-Wednesday: I weighed in at 123.5, which is pretty average for me. I was actually down to 122.5 for about 3 days, but went right back up and have stayed here for a few days now.
I woke up at 4:30 a.m. to get to the gym this morning since my DH had an early morning appt. I wasn't able to sleep well last night and was ready to get up at that time, but will be dragging mid-day, I am sure. So, I worked out yesterday, today and plan to on Friday & Saturday as well.
We brought my DD's teacher a dozen roses yesterday to see her off for her hysterectomy surgery this morning. My DD seems to be sad that she will be out for over a month, but doesn't seem too emotional. I hope she does o.k. in her absence; she is rather sensitive.
Nothing much too exciting going on here this morning, so I will jump into some posts:
JackieO: Thanks for the kind words, but I did have a very restless night's sleep. I knew I would, but couldn't get the images out of my head.
Deb: I think anyone who rides a motorcycle without a helmet is on a suicidal mission; their days are numbered, no doubt! It was a terrible scene, but thankful I didn't actually see it all happen. If I were there a few minutes earlier, I could have been a witness; something I hope to never be. You crack me up...the electrician got an eye-full; maybe that is why he makes house calls at 1 a.m. Not too many women are wearing their jeans at that hour .
jecrites: I did have a restless night's sleep. My DH use to entertain the thougth of getting a motorcycle at one point, but he has "grown up" and decided he doesn't want one. I guess he knows his life is too important to risk. I had a friend whose husband was killed on a motorcycle. I couldn't imagine going through that.
Sef: Glad you found those muscles!!
BKMomma: Welcome back. Good luck for a great week.
chrisd: You did great at dinner. You could have done a lot worse. The dessert sounds divine, but you know that when you left that restaurant you were full of energy, and those with you were getting ready to crash hard after their sugar high.
Wood: You did great for being away in SF for 5 days. I hope you feel better soon and that your cold doesn't linger.
Trishaloo: (Maybe we'll call you Trishaboo for this month...ha). Happy Anniversary. I don't know how anyone could treat those injured in such accidents. I have such a terribly weak stomach. I get queasy if I cut my finger. I am such a wimp when it comes to blood & gut stuff.
Talitha: You did great this past week; 5 pounds! You can make your goal by Christmas, but will have to really buckle down as you only have 3 months. This time of year is soooo hard to be good. This will be a true test for me since I started SB in May. Summertime is the easiest time to eat the right foods (when they are all in season). But when the cold weather rolls around and all the goodie foods are out.....oh boy, help me be good!
Well have a fantastic day, and I hope to check in this afternoon.
Good Afternoon all! Gotta get in the shower just wanted to send a quick post. Going to try and find Dominic a halloween costume....well Im starting to look today. Its gonna be hard because a lot of the stuff I like require either a mask or something on the head...he will NOT wear a mask and he will not keep a hat or something on for more than a few minutes. So thats why I have to start looking now.
TRISH - Yes it was very hard to resist the bread, especially dipped in oil and herbs. But I feel so good today that I did resist temptation!
MOM - Thank you!
TEENSY - Thank you for the compliment as well. Ok, I went online to look at the TBT. I had no idea it was that big and cost so much. Maybe I can find it on Ebay or something. I did find a website that will do free shipping...thats a plus. I will let you know what the outcome is!
PANCHO - You are sooo right. My husband was in the bathroom most of the night and about passed out on the couch. Not me...I felt great. I feel so good today that I didnt indulge! Great job with your work outs. I wish I had it in me this week! I just cant get motivated for some reason!
Good WIW. Hope the scale is great to everyone today.
The scale is moving down, but I'm still not back to my low. I have one week until N.O. and I bet I can't get those one pair of capris on yet. Urgh.........
I didn't walk last night. May skip again tonight. It is still bothering me but I think I can make it until Sat to get a shot. Then I guess I will do something about it.
Man there have been tons of posts. It has taken all morning to catch up.
Jecrites, Glad Autumn is feeling better. Hope that strep test doesn't come back positve.
Bob, better be careful with that soup. The high here today is only 65. This stinks. Come now, it feels like winter. That will be a great game Monday night. I'm pullin DH thinks they will lose but they have been playing great. for my Colts.
Chris, Wow what a cute son. Those eyes are huge. Your pic is pretty too. Great to put a name with a face. Pat yourself ont he back girl. You did fabulous at dinner. You should be so proud. It's a good feeling isn't it? Yes, I stuck an ice bag down my pants during lunch. It helped a lot. I am alternating now.
Cherylco, Welcome back. Hope youa re back with us for awhile. Good going on your eating. Way to get those converts to SB. Must be the great instructor.
Pancho, what a horrible accident, I hope your prayers were answered. You are maintaining great. WTG on getting to the gym. Hopeyu get a nap in today.
Deb, Curious minds have to know, where your boobs hanging down and OUT of your gown? You have done a great job on rounding up all the strays from the board.
Sef, I kicked you with my other leg. Hope it worked. Glad you are liking the water aerobics.
Dave, Glad you are feeling better. I took amuscle relaxer last night, but they only make me sleepy. I can't take the pain pills, makes we weird (or more so)
BKM, Welcome back. Glad to hear everyone is doing great. Life does go on and surprisingly, may get much better. Hope you are back with us for the long haul.
Gator, was the second one your by line?
Momtomaya, the water is to important. Drink up! Yes we weigh-in on Wed. Really helps to post it. Sorta of like wt watchers without paying.
Teensy, yes I skipped my walking last night. It is some better today, but after sitting awhile, it starts hurting again.
Woodfrogs, if you only gained 1 lb after that vacation, you did great. I can easily gain 12. Hope that cold gets better. Nothing worse than a summer cold.
Trish, yeah! 2 days in a row. Happy Anniversary. 20 years is a milestone. If it helps, I have been making chips from ww tortillas ad taking themt o the mexican rest. It works great.
Talitha, WTG on the loss. You will get there. Just hang in there. My DD walked at 9 months too. Glad she is feeling better.
Crystle, glad you are enjoying your vaction. But we are missing you.
Green, way to make some plans and committments. That will surely bring a loss next week.I sue 100% duram semonlina pasta. It is supposed to be legal. I only eat it about 1x a month though.
I finally bit the bullet and weighed this morning at the gym...The good news is that despite my poor weekend eating I did not gain. I also did not lose (I probably just lost the weight from the junk I ate). I have been very serious about my exercise and did not even frown this A.M. when my alarm went off at 5 so I could get to the gym. I feel very positive, despite the fact that my weigh in was really not that sucessful.
SuperDave and Jack K- Please feel better soon. I am sending prayers and positive get well vibes your way!!
ChrisD- just got a chance to look at last nights posts and saw your pics posted. You look FABULOUS!!!! Your son is too cute for words. I could chew on those little cheeks of his, but they probably contain too much sugar!!!
Nat- Good job remaining stable on the weight. The exercise will definitely help move the scale in the right direction.
Green RN- Good for you making a committment to your exercise. Keep us posted!
CountryMom- Enjoy your vacation, girl!!!
Talitha- Losing 5 pounds in 2 weeks is still amazing. Keep up the good work!!!
trisha- Happy Anniversary!!! Good luck with eating out tonight.(That is always so difficult for me!)
Woodfrogs- glad you had a nice vacation. The ballroom dancing class sounds like fun, and great exercise!!!!
Hello to Deb, Teensy, Monet, SEF, Mom to Maya and everyone else. have a great day!
Did I tell you guys that I have the sweetest hubby ever???? When I got back from lunch (went to the mall to buy his anniversary present, had lunch - steak teriyaki, extra veggies, no sauce, no rice, water, thank you very much), there were a dozen beeaauutiful roses waiting for me. 4 red, 4 salmon, and 4 lavender. Even though I was expecting them, he always sends me roses for our anniversary, it's still great.
This is gonna be quick, I'm still waiting on the doc office to call about Autumn's strep test, and then I have to go to Wal-Mart to pick up Katie's meds, after they get home of course.
I actually found some sourdough pretzels at the commissary today. I was in shock. They have never had anything there that anyone here has said anything about.
Didn't take Autumn to story time this morning just in case she does have strep. Don't want to spred it around too much. We did go after story time was over though. Needed to return some movies and check out some more books for the others to read and then a couple movies for them to watch. I found a cookbook for diabetics, so I checked that out just to see what's in there, and also one on decorating cakes like Monet suggested I do.
Trish, I'm sure if I was to take a class and do that then I would be the same way. Too much sweet can make you sick of it.
Green, Thank you for your comments on the cake. Yes they all did enjoy it, even though hubby preferes yellow cake with chocolate icing, he still had his share of it.
Pancho, Sorry to hear you didn't sleep good last night. I have a cousin that used to ride a motorcycle all the time, but after he saw a guy have an accident on one, he got rid of it and got a car. I myself hate the things and won't get on one for nothing.
Jack-k, I've got a pretty bad feeling that it will come back positive. She started running a temp this morning. I just wish they would take out all 3 of the girls tonsils so they wouldn't have to deal with that crap no more.
Ok, now off to find something to eat and hope the doc office calls me soon. Talk to y'all later.
