Hey everybody, just checking in on my lunch hour. I had eaten my sandwich around 10:30 since I didn't get a chance for breakfast and in the rush forgot to take my meds!

Y'all have a very pleasant afternoon.

Hey there everybody,

Just checking in after a very hectic 3 day weekend. My husband's uncle pased away and the funeral was yesterday, but we had out of town relatives in at our house all weekend long. So I am super tired but back to work today.

Needless to say the weekend was a total wipe out. Grab n go meals all weekend long, no exercise. Cold and dreary weather yesterday, dreary again today. Yesterday was supposedly the most depressing day of the year and I felt it. <sigh>

JUST A QUICK CHECK IN.

Monet, I hope you sleep better tonight. I had the same problem the night before, but last night slept pretty good. I got in the hot ub right before bed, I think that helped.

Determined, hope you get that computer fixed quickly. Computers are great when they work, and you just want to throw them out the window when they don't.

Ray, I will like the red better in a couple days after it fades a little. Rudy i smy little puppy, a ****zu/Maltese. I bet you get tons more snow than we do. We normally don't get much, but there have been a few whoppers.

Mercee, don't get overwhelmed, you don't have to do replies to everyone. Just pop in and tell us how you are doing.

Chrgrl, darn, I was hoping I could eat those chick patties.

Sparkle, thanks, you just reminded me to take my meds.

Better get back to work. Have a great OP day

Rosemary, we were posting at the same time. I am sorry about your DH's uncle. Times like that is hard to think about what you are eating. Just get back on track.

I am impatiently waiting on the kiln to cool. I called our friend who was supposed to come for dinner tonight and gave her the option of rescheduling since Tom is sick. We will get together next week instead....

Tom is still pretty puny. I am not a very good nurse.

ROSEMARY: I am so sorry to hear about your hubby's uncle! Sure is understandable that it was hard to stay on plan.

SOLLY: I hope I can sleep tonight. I am trying to stay up and not nap or anything so I can.

RAY: So you think Monday weigh ins would be good for you?

SPARKLE: I am always forgetting my meds! You reminded me I needed to take my afternoon dose of thyroid meds...thanks!

Be back in a bit....gotta go check the kiln again.

Hey, guys. Just a check in...nope, I didn't make it thru the weekend OP. Nor did I do good today. I'm having some major financial issues right now which is contributing to my stress/emotional eating. I would appreciate it so much if you guys could say a prayer for my husband to find steady work. I have to make this short..work calls(sigh).

wow where has the day gone. I had an appointment for a perm this morning at 11 so got that. I sure look better. And glad its over. I didn't eat before hand and man was I starving when I got home. Made Steve and I two slices of low sugar, low sodium bacon, some southwestern egg beaters, a dry piece of whole wheat toast and orange juice. So now I'm having a cup of hot green tea. Yum.

Michelle- Sorry about your computer.....

Ray- I heard yesterday was the gloomest day of the year. Glad you're better today.

Mercee- Hope you get a treadmill I love mine.

chrgrl- do you ever have the black bean veggie burgers by morning star? I got me some of them and hope they're good.

Monet- Sorry you've had such a hard time sleeping last night. Maybe a tiny nap today would be good. Hope Tom feels better.

Sparkle- Howdy. Hope you don't get to hungry this afternoon.

Rosemary- Sorry about the Uncle passing away. It must have been a hard week end.

Solly - I'll reprint the recipe....

sorry this is all so quick. But I need to nap a few.....

Slow Cooker Chicken Taco Stew
Poultry Mexican Dinner
Submitted by GINGERFISH

I love this stew! It is so easy and leaves me feeling satisfied. I use 3/4 cup as a serving. If it is too spicy for you, substitute a can of diced tomatoes for one of the diced tomatoes w/chilies.

Ingredients

1 onion, chopped
1 16-oz can black beans
1 16-oz can kidney beans
1 16-oz can corn (drained)
1 8-oz can tomato sauce
2 14.5-oz cans diced tomatoes w/chilies
1 1.25-oz packet taco seasoning
1-2 boneless skinless chicken breasts
Directions

Mix everything together in a slow cooker except chicken. Lay chicken on top and cover. Cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 3-4 hours. 30 minutes before serving, remove chicken and shred. Return chicken to slow cooker and stir in. This is good eaten with cheese, sour cream, or tortilla chips.

Hi all! Just think of it this way, if yesterday was the most depressing day of the year, at least we are on the spring/summer side of it again!!

It is a cold, dreary, depressing day here again. Rainy and 34 degrees or so. Yuck!

I am currently weighing in on Sunday mornings, because of going to visit MIL most Sunday afternoons it keeps me from overdoing it there if I know that I've done well during the last week. Also, our work challenge is set up for us to weigh in on Sunday morning. Sunday or Monday makes the most sense to me.

Hope everyone has a nice warm and cozy evening and is able to snuggle up and hibernate well tonight!!!

Laurie: I feel your pain. Derek has been on unemployment since September after working steady for over twenty years. Just remember...things will be fine and the Lord has a plan and will provide. I always tell my husband...I'd rather be poor with him than rich with anyone else. Things work out...one day at a time.

Well, I opened the kiln. I had several BIG disappointments. I had two platters in it...one was for a special order. I had glazed it and the person it was for did not like it, so I was reglazing it and hoping to sell it on Etsy. I had remade the platter for her and it was in there too. The handles cracked on the new one, and the old one...well, I think the glaze was still wet because it just cracked in two! That is about $160 worth of platters I am going to have to toss. I had a few other pieces that turned out fairly well, and added two new listings to my Etsy shop... I just feel like I can never get ahead. Some days, I wonder why I bother even trying.

Tom is still very puny. I am not a very good nurse. I sure hope he feels better tomorrow.

Talk to you all tomorrow!

Monet: That really stinks. What a waste of time and moolah. I've been here at the computer all night posting new things on my Etsy. I have six items now.

Off to work on my Senators hat!!
