WHEW! It is HOT out there! I didn't get out for my walk until after 8:30am-it was brutal and unbearibly hot and humid. I don't know how I was able to get it in in 45:18, but I did and of course, was happy it was over!
Just cooling down now and eating some delicious mango yogurt I made (plain ff yogurt, .8oz mango and a packet of Stevia)
Forgot to mention the other day my plans to see I AM SAM just included Lauren and myself. We went after going to lunch at SHORTY'S, never made it up to Broward. Sean Penn is very good in the movie.
My goodness, I loved seeing all the new pics on the PHOTO ALBUM BOARD! Can't wait to get a few from Orlando up there as well (need a little time, be patient with me).
MELF, that doesn't even look like you in the before picture! You MUST get a better after picture to post-I want to see "the real you" and the one you posted doesn't do you justice at all. From seeing the picture of when you met with SOL & GATOR, I would of not recognized you from your before picture!
HAM, would love to see if I could get your picture more detailed-can you send it to me via e-mail as an attachment? You may think you have a long way to go, but you are well on your way and closer than you think You have a beautiful smile and I'm sure a good heart goes along with it. Can't wait to see an updated pic!!! Does your Mgr know you are following SB? That was wonderful of him to make you such a healthy salad-sounds like a great boss-and a great place for food! Sorry to hear about those blisters, but it's great that you got in 6 miles of work walking!! Try to find some moleskin to help pad those sore areas-it really helps. We ALWAYS tip our waitress/waiter well-I know from having the pizzeria how people are-trust me, it's worse for delivery people, many people don't tip them at all-and to think they go out to take people their food, having the possibility of getting in an accident-go out in ALL kinds of weather, and people don't think of tipping quite often.
FILLISE, did you get to see the Royal Tannenbaums? If so, a review please
BETH, you definitely have that cheesecake shot down pat. Your face is very tiny looking to me, heart shaped, is it? Curly hair? I would not think you were 220 at all from looking at you. You have a beautiful face-ahhh, to be that young again! CONGRATS on the scale being down, way down! I'm sure it's going to continue to go down too. Try to stay away from all that legal stuff you got-let your body detox totalling from the sweets, you'll see that you won't even crave them after a while and you'll forget you even bought the stuff.
JRED, loved the pics-gosh, how I wish I could wear something like that dress you have on with no sleeves!!! Okay, so a pisolettes is a roll? Why such a fancy name?
BOB, sounds like an interesting movie with the Amish kids-not an easy life. I'm here, just trying to get some computer time lately has been tough. You hate it when I'm off program, lots worse being the one who is, you know! I feel I'm back on track after that eye-opening expreience. Though, Eli didn't help last night when he came home late and we had to go get something to eat-ended up at a ME rest and I had falafels and some taste of a eggplant dish-and I wasn't hungry and didn't plan on eating-but did I'll find you another site to journal besides fitday-give me a little time to look through my files, but I know I have other sites. Let me know what you hear about MISSY!!
DARAMUS, hmmm, didn't someone else recommend you to eat about 2,000 calories as well? I can see though, you definitely didn't get those in from what you posted as eating. Work on it, you don't want to be counter-productive. Wish I could stop eating at 6pm, no chance in **** for that to happen ever!
BIGK, shorts? You are a stronger woman than I'll ever be-my legs haven't been in shorts since 7th grade and never will be again! So you were smaller than you thought-that's great! Probably was pissed and over joyed at the same time about the scale being off!
ZANNE, definitely, the journaling helps! Keeps me in line most of the time Sorry you had to throw out the smoothie-hate waste-I'd probably of drank it-was it THAT bad?
HAPPY, sounds like you too do the double bday party-we did the same for Lauren this year. One day of eating off plan won't kill you, as long as you get right back on track-my problem is I'm the type who if I eat something off plan I can't get back on track, so I don't do that-I have enough trouble with SB LEGAL DESSERTS and not being able to stop at one serving! Spelnda and agave are totally different. I don't like Splenda and use Stevia instead. If you can easily find agave, buy a bottle-if you want to try it, e-mail me with your snail mail addy and I"ll send you a couple sample packets I have at home. I don't buy that KETO stuff, have seen it though. Aunt Gussies, hard to find, you can contact the company and ask them if someone near you sells their products-you may be able to order from their website I think. Expensive though. I liked how you handled the chat outside your office!!!
NASCAR, when I was married to my ex he NEVER asked me my weight, not that I would of told him anyhow-a very sore subject, esp when you weigh almost 300lbs! One time I was eating ice cream and he says, "you really don't want to eat that, do you?" Let's just say, I yelled some interesting words I can't print and he never said another thing about what I ate again. I think you handled your husband just fine and he should get the message from what you said. He should be happy that you are losing weight and shouldn't have any concern of the numbers
Okay, gotta run, get in the shower, old man is off today I'll be back on later this evening. Please remember, tomorrow starts the new weekly board and it's MOTIVATIONAL MONDAY so if you have any words of wisdom, quotes, stories, etc. you'd like to share with the board, please, try to post them tomorrow!
Have a great day!

Ok... I am having some trouble. I'm ok staying OP, but my blood sugar is staying TOO LOW. I've been hypoglycemic my whole life, and I guess I got used to sugary snacks because of that... but I've been OP for a week today, and at least 3 mornings I wake up with a VERY LOW blood sugar. Last night I got up at 4am, and I was closer than ever to being unconscious... Hubby got up and got me a glass of apple juice and after drinking that, it took about 15 minutes for me to get coherent again. He was scared and so was I. It's happened about 3 times since I started, but never was I that close to going out. (I've passed out before from it when I wasn't OP!!) I think the lowest I've been is 24!!! (Being a Medic.. I've medflighted people with higher BS than I had last night!)
I do what the book says and don't eat after 8pm.. but I'm thinking that isn't going to work for me... I need an orange, or some juice after that right before I go to bed... and I also have to drink a glass of juice first thing in the AM to keep myself with the land of the living!
So What is going wrong here? I can NOT do this every morning.. he leaves for work before me and I can't stand the thought of my kids going thru having me laying on the bathroom floor asking for juice... NOT what I want them to see.
I ate pretty well yesterday... ate a late breakfast of 2 eggs with cheese, and water. Snack of peanuts and Diet CF Mt Dew. Dinner was a HUGE BBQ Chicken salad from Gibsons, and a cup of French Vanilla Decaf with S&L and a splash of milk. Then about 7:45 I had some more peanuts and some water.
I know that even if I had juice or fruit at 8pm... I don't get up until 4:30.. that's a LONG time with nothing in my stomach for a hypoglycemic!! Any suggestions? If it happens again, I'm gonna call my DR. and see if she wants me to modify the plan. I have NO energy, I got up this morning, drank juice at 9:30... and it took me 10 minutes to have the strength to get out of bed.
Well, yesterday was quite busy and I did el-stinko with my eating. I always get kind of stressed and nervous when teaching tutor training that when it’s over I eat EVERYTHING in sight. Yes, I was out of control. I’m not happy about it. I’m down right ashamed. But I’m not dwelling on it. See, the sun came up again this morning and that means I get an entirely NEW CHANCE not to screw it up today! HA!!! And so far, so good. I’m evening thinking about getting dh up out of bed to hit the walking trail. The sun is shining and it’s supposed to be warmer out there today. So we may just hit that before we veg in front of football for the rest of the day.
Speaking of that, may I say one thing???? Thank you. GO STEELERS!!! That’s my team and I’m hoping they play well today.
Geesh MELF, you look terrific. And I can tell from your smiling face that you are feeling WONDERFUL too. How great for you. And you gotta love that hubby and his attention to the new you!!! Thanks for helping to get me to the photo board. I hadn’t seen most of the pictures on it, so I’m glad I got to. You’re a sweetie . . . a skinny sweetie!!! I love your list of changes since you’ve gotten to goal. That’s very motivating to me.
WELCOME DARAMUS!!!! We sure are happy to see a new face here. And you’ve come to the right spot. You can get a lot of support here. The key is to read and post regularly, so we can get to know you and you can reap the wisdoms from all these fabulous people. Congrats on your losses so far. You are doing great.
SHEANN---From my above confession, you can see that I, too, was in the same shoes as you. Here’s the thing we MUST remember. Just because we messed up on one day doesn’t make it the right thing to do. But it also doesn’t mean that it has to affect the next day and the next meal for that matter. DEB is the wise one for NEVER every cheating off program. I wish I could be that disciplined. But since I haven’t gotten to that point yet, I will “cope” with my times of failure and move away from them as quickly as possible. Let’s kick those bad days to the curb and not let them affect us any more. Also, hope you like the cottage cheese in the salad trick. The key is to put lots of your favorite seasonings on it.
LAMAP---Glad to hear of your newly-found social life. Sounds like you two had an enjoyable time together. I hope it all works out just the way you want it to. Enjoy the journey.
HAM---You must be the busiest waitress on either side of the Mississippi. SIX MILES!!!! That’s quite a workout! Hope your blisters go away soon.
DEB---That was quite a revelation you had about the scones and the cheesecake. This out of control eating takes up a lot of my brain time. I often spend time wondering what it is that’s causing me to overeat certain foods. I can’t figure this one out. What is it about the taste of certain things (for you it’s the SB legal stuff) that causes us to lose control? If we could find the answer to this question, we would be thin and happy and probably rich (because we’d write a book and make tons of money!). Good luck with avoiding that cheesecake. It’s so hard when you know it’s right behind that refrigerator door. This morning I was getting into a snack mode sort of thinking. So I went to the kitchen and made a whole pot of green tea and will try and sip on that and hope the desire to eat goes down to some neighbor’s house and leaves me the heck alone. Also, do you remember there for a while a few months ago that you would go eat the Carbolite and then you’d have the upchucks? I wondered at that time if the Carbolite had something in it that was not agreeing with your system. I haven’t heard to mention making faces at the toilet since I’ve been back on. Is that not occuring with regularity anymore? Just wondering. I’ll look and see if I can find that recipe. It was some oatmeal cookie that I added pecans to. If I find it I’ll post it, but you have to promise to share the batch. Tee hee!!!
Okay, that’s it for me, folks. Hope you all have a wonderful Sunday. Take care.
Kim
I really want to be taking a nap this afternoon . . .
I tried to lay down, but the phone kept ringing about this stupid banquet. Oh well--only 26 hours and 50 minutes until it begins.
I didn't get to see the Royal Tannenbaums yesterday. When I got to the theater it was crawling with kids. The line was way too long--even though I knew the kids were going to see snow dogs, I just didn't want to put up with the hassle. I may try to sneak over for an afternoon matinee on Tuesday as a reward for all the banquet work I've been doing this weekend.
Fortunately none of my youth groups are meeting at the church tonight--so I have tonight to attend to last minute details as well.
Still, I'd really like that nap. I'm thinking I'm going to have to lay down for 20 or so minutes. I love a Sunday afternoon nap---especially when it is all cloudy outside like it is today!
My basketball team won yesterday--and I was able to keep the cards printing during time outs--so they got finished about the time the game was over.
OK I'm yawning way to much--must have some sleep.
I may not be able to get on the broard tomorrow--so it may be tuesday.
Hey girls and guy LOL
I spent the whole afternoon riding and grooming April. Surely all the troting and lopeing is going to burn some calories. I feel like my insides are jello now. LOL I love spending time out there with them .....that is why I am never in here anymore. But I know I must do better.
I am doing great these last few days and from my peeking and think I will have a lose to post on Wed.
Take care all and welcome to the newbies.....I will cya all later.
Hope everyone has had a good weekend..I had no shopping to do today, and had every intention of doing laundry....went to KMART....didn't get home until almost 4pm!
On my Sunday morning visit to STARBUCKS I was looking at their teas...DEB??? have you ever tried their green tea? I want to try some, but if it's not any different than all the others, I don't see the use. OPINION????
I'm hitting the sack early ....not that there is anything on TV, but I want to get snuggled in...Enjoy your evening
Had a nice day out with the BIG BOY today. We went up to Broward and DID NOT GO TO OLE OLE!!! We went to a ME rest. that we found up there which was quite good. Don't worry, Ole Ole will get our business probably Wednesday! Of course, went for Carbolite afterwards. In between we went to see IN THE BEDROOM, it was okay, thought it would be better from what I heard about it. Two movies in 3 days, and here we hadn't been to one since I went to see NANCE in August!
I was reading my latest Readers Digest and noticed an add for HELLMANN'S JUST 2 GOOD! REDUCED FAT MAYONNAISE DRESSING Has anyone seen this in their stores yet? I use the low fat that has 5 grams of fat in a tablespoon, this says it has 2grams-wonder what's in it! Let me know if anyone's seen/bought it please!
BETH, I have never followed the "not eating after 8pm rule" and eat whenever I am hungry, sometimes quite late. I eat small meals throughout the day and eating small meals would probably be good for you too if you can do it on your schedule. There's no evidence that eating late makes one gain or not lose weight-so go ahead and do what you have to and don't worry about it-eating late has notdetered me from reaching my goal Sorry to hear what happened to you-I'm sure you will find a way to be able to make this WOE work for you-remember, it's only a guide line they give you in the book, you can tweak it to work for you in a way you can easily do it.
QUILTER, you must of had DEBBIE DISEASE yesterday with being out of control Glad to hear today you're doing better-me too! I haven't touched the cheesecake today LOL! Nope, Carbolite alone won't make me upchuck, but I still do it, and it's either due to hormones, or if I go right after eating a lunch that fills me up-it takes so long for my food to go down, if I eat anything at all afterwards, there's no place for it to go because the food hasn't gone down yet, so it comes right back up to pay me a repeat visit.
FILLLISE, good luck tomorrow!!!!!
BUSDEB, how is your other horse doing? Is she home yet?? Have fun riding, haven't been on a horse in 20 years!!!!
BOB, haven't tried SB GREEN TEA, but have some of the others-love their WILD ORANGE one! I'll ask Eli his perspective on it, if he has one!
Okay, gotta run, Michael needs the computer for a little bit. Will be back later, at least I'll try!
Toodles

Just had to pop in and tell Quilter that she shattered my image of her!!!! GO STEELERS??????? NOT Yeah N.E PAT'S!!!!!!! we are going to the "Big Game" can u tell who my team is? LOL It was a good clean fun game and i enjoy those not to many bad calls either!
Beth I was going to post what Deb did. If you need to eat for your health just do it! Even Weight watchers says you can eat at night! Its important that you do! You sound like your doing great other wise!
Gotta run. I was just "looking" at my taxes! oh boy!
Thanks for the kind welcome. The weekends are tough for me because I'm at home most of the time. During the week I have school and other errands to run, and that helps to keep me busy and out of the kitchen. Knowing that boredom is one of my many eating triggers, I tend to overcompensate on the weekends and eat too little LOL. I'm scared of over-eating so I compensate too much. Also, I had been using the treadmill for 20 minutes a day, but I recently pulled a muscle bowling (of all things!) and my doc told me to lay off the workouts for a couple weeks. It's not that I especially like to workout, but I had gotten into a "groove" of sorts, and I hate the thought of having to work back up to where I was pre-injury. Anyway, I have math homework (YUK!!!) so I should be going for now. Now that I'm thinking of it, I also have a short story to read for my literature class, too! *sigh* Today was an "ok" eating day, but I will list it here along with some questions I had.
Brunch: pb & j on 2 slices SGWW bread, a small dill pickle. The spreadable fruit I use has no added sugar but it is above the 3 grams I believe. It has fruit juice concentrate, fruit, etc. Are these types of spreadable fruit legal?
Snack: 3 slices of summer sausage (no sugar but had dextrose and 1 gram of sugar), 2 slices of pepperjack cheese, and about 5 dates. The dates I had were SWEET and had 29 grams of sugar per serving! There was no added ingrediants of any kind that I could see, but I'm assuming that dates are not legal???
Dinner: BIG hamburger patty (no scale to weigh), steamed zuchinni, basmati/wild rice mixture (small serving), 2 tomato slices, and a glass of red wine.
Total of 4 cups of coffee (my bad!)
Comments are always welcome of course.
I haven't had the chance to look at the FOOD FOR THOUGHT BOARD, much less post a day of journaling on it. I have a new board for this week and will keep it going as long as you all think it's effective enough to do so.
FROG, thanks for the e-card for Lauren from the board-she loved it!
Hi Rhroo!!!
DARASMUS, pb&j and pickles-if you were a woman, I'd ask if you were pregnant! The spreadable fruit I guess is okay, many people seem to use it-I personally use JOK N AL as it only has 2 grams of sugars in it, I believe. Remember, as long as you are using it in moderation, I guess it's okay. Some of those sugar grams come from the actual fruit, whereas the other comes from the fruit concentrate. You have to remember, fruit concentrate is another form of sugar, just concentrated sugars from fruits-so moderation is definitely a key. DEXTROSE is sugar, but since it's under 3 grams of sugar per serving, under SB RULES, this is okay to eat. I personally don't do dates, love them, but I think this is one of the contradictions in the SB BOOK, as the GI for dates is 103. I found this bit of information on RICK MENDOSA'S SITE:
The best example is e-mail Chris Ball in Australia sent me last month questioning the reported GI of dates, 103 (where glucose = 100). He wondered how such a high number was possible with all the fiber in dates.
After checking the facts, he got me wondering too. That number comes from The Glucose Revolution and not from the earlier Australian edition of the book, then titled The G.I. Factor, which linked the original studies published in peer-reviewed literature. Subsequent editions of the book do not provide links to the original source.
Indeed, more than 10 percent of the carbohydrates in dates are fiber, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Nutrient Database. And according to the USDA's "Sugar Content of Selected Foods," the only tested sugar in dates is sucrose, 44.6 grams of a total sugar of 64.2 grams per 100 grams of dates. There are unknown amounts of maltose and "other sugars" (which means sugars other than galactose, glucose, fructose, lactose, sucrose, and maltose). But even if all the unknown sugar was maltose (GI 105 where glucose = 100), that could not explain the reported GI of dates.
Even Jennie Brand-Miller is puzzled by the high glycemic index of dates. She is the lead author of The Glucose Revolution and The G.I. Factor. When I asked her, this is what she replied:
We tested dates ourselves and we were just as shocked as you by the high number but we checked and rechecked. The only possible explanation is that the food label has the incorrect amount of carbohydrate so that we might have fed more than a 50 g CHO portion. Still it would have to be out by a factor of 2 if the GI were really in the middle like we expected. Bw Jennie
Again, I don't think you are eating enough, just my opinion. As for the coffee-as long as it's STARBUCKS, you won't hear anything from me
See you all on the NEW WEEKLY BOARD tomorrow!!!

Will write a generalized post trying to remember some of the things I have read!
All my sitting problem is not completely gone but it has improved tremendosly! Tomorrow after my NH visit I am going to the gym. The girl who set up my program won't be there, but I am sure that I can talk to someone else. Although I didn't feel I strained overly with the weight machines, I still think that was the cause of my problem. I, too, think I should reduce weights. At least I can go on the recumbent (sp?) bike and the arm mixmaster!
Today my church had a Congregational Meeting followed by a Potluck Luncheon after church. I took some SB WW Pistolettes. I didn't hear one person say these must be diet. They had been put on the buffet sans wrapper and no one knew. Someone else mentioned on the Board that they buy them too. At winn Dixie we have a bakery. The staff know me now as I am always asking for SB products (their MultiGrain Bread is delish!!!). I found out the product comes to them frozen and they bake them to crisp them up. One day, they had no Pistolettes out and I asked if they had any, the salesperson gave me some and said they had not been crisped yet but I could do it at home, they are already baked. Well, by the time I got home it was lunch time, so I tried one "uncrisped", I liked it much better and they seemed to keep longer too. The next time I buy some I am going to ask for them that way.
Did you know that Nature's Own also makes a SGWWSF roll that is like a hamburger roll. They are so good I use them as a dinner roll or just plain with butter or PB.
Oh, at the Potluck I did very well OP. Someone had brought a veggie tray, there was plain ham and the rolls. I have been doing great staying OP, I just took a while to get that mind set after the holidays.
This week I have the appointment with the Neurologist, I am really looking forward to it as I would like to solve this neuropathy problem and get some relief. My right hand is also beginning to tingle, so that's all four extremities.
It will be a busy week, two NH days, choir, a visit to N.O. with a friend, the doctor, the neurologist and the gym.
Nice to see so many newcomers. I can only say welcome, don't be afraid to ask questions. I think it was Quilter who said the question you ask is probably others were too shy to ask and the anwer will help others.
Can someone remind me how to change the Avatar under our name on the left? I did it once before and can't figure it out now! I found a cute one I'd like to use. Remember, it's my age!!!! Not my STUPIDITY!!!!!!!!
I have sat here long enough and cannot remember any more posts I thought I would add my two cents too.
DEB.........Dixie is not coming home ....we traded Dixie for April our new horse....I guess you missed that post. I was upset at first because I felt we were abandoning Dixie but she will be given a good home and will work good for another family. We needed a more seasoned horse like April. She is 10 and is trained really well and is very predictiable. Sara actually rode her today so I know for sure that we made the right decision.
See you all later.
Debbie )
Here is a picture of Sara on April this afternoon.
