Happy Monday
Boy was it a beautiful weekend. We opened some windows but later had to close them as it warmed up. Fall is coming. Plus the CATS won and now are ranked 8th!
Toni, what kind of marinade did you you. I have a pork roast in the freezer and was wondering what to use. I used to do Sparks alot. Maybe I need to get back on there.
Country, boy glad to hear you were just busy, I was beginning to worry about you. Hang in there. You are better off than me, my scale is moving, but in the wrong direction.
Thin, what beautiful kids. You sure can tell they are brother and sister.
Bob, How about those CATS!!! #8
Monet, that kiln is sure keeping you busy. Of well, you know what they say about busy hands. OK Monet, my goal for Oct is to lose 10 lbs. Now I know that is a lot and I don't lose quickly, but 5 of it will be gone in a day or two so 5 is real fat to lose. Also to stay on plan. Which goes hand in had with losing 10 lbs.
Have a great day. Got to run.

Hello everyone! I unloaded yesterdays glaze kiln, and I got two STUNNING pieces of porcelain. I am SO excited! I need to make more. There were about four other pieces that were ok, and a dozen mugs that are already spoken for. I have another load I need to glaze and fire, and stuff drying.
My goal for October is: Exercise at least five times a week, and stay on plan. If I lose, great! If not, at least I will be better off for the exercise and eating right!
SOLLY: You can do it!

My goal is to have my fridge at work stuffed with health food!
Opening day was GREAT! I had five customers. Doesn't sound like a lot, but one guy isn't even from here, he was driving through town and saw my barber pole spinning and stopped in for a trim! That pole is SO worth it.

Oh boy I love a new month. Always feels like a new start. My goal this month is to walk 4 days a week at least on my treadmill. And to keep working on doing better on the week end. Went shopping today and was gone most the day. I was pleased when my friend stopped at Captain D's and I could eat legal. I had broiled Tilipa, a green salad and green beans. It was just enough food.
Tech-Woopie on the opening of your shop. I'm so excited for you.
Monet- What were the pieces you did that turned out so well? Bowls? Vases?
Solly- You can do it.. Oh I wish I could lose 10 lbs this month.
Better run. I'm pooped and need to rest...

Howdy
Hey ya'll. I had a food breakdown this weekend but I am back on track for the most part. There are some huge issues going on in my life right now and I did what any good emotional eater does I ate...it wasn't the amount of food but the quality. Nothing helps like the top off of all the cupcakes. Cheetoes have been a close friend more times than once. But at least I get that it was emotionally driven and I can take charge of that. I'm hoping to walk shortly after I get the kiddos feed if the sun doesn't go down too fast. We have had a lot of snakes this year and they are soooo hard to see at dusk on the dirt road.
Solly..there isn't a doubt in my mind that you will start going the other direction again. You are so consistant and motivated. ((hugzz))
Toni...I'm with you. A new month, a new start.
Tech...congratulations on the opening of your new shop. WTG on a customer seeing your sign and stopping in. That is so neat. I'm praying you have more buisness than you know what to do with as the days go on.
Monet...curious George over here would love to see the stunning pieces of porcelin. Did you take pictures? Everything I've seen that you have done as been wonderful.
((Everybody)) Wishing you a FANTASTIC week.
Love and hugs,
Crystle

I did take some pictures. Here is my favorite piece. It is porcelain, with a stain on the pot and a porcelain design added over the color. Then, I glazed it with a clear glaze. I am not sure if I will list it because I am not sure I want to part with it! Maybe I will double the price!

Goodmorning ladies,
Boy my back is killing me today. Stupid me did some ab exercises with my DD last night at the gym and I don't have ab muscles to work so I guess I used my back. I am paying for it today.
We had a good upper body workout and then we walked home from the gym. I know I was glad to get home.
Monet, your piece is beautiful. Is it spoken for? If not, it willgo quickly I'm sure.
Country, hang in there girl. I have been going through some issues too and have turned to food. Have you tried the Cheetos with jalapeno seasoning? Fabulous. I ate the whole bag in 2 days. :bad: But we can get out of this and start this new month on the good side. We will do this!
Toni, You can meet your goal. I know you can. When you figure out the weekend thingy, let me know, I definately need help there.
Tech, I am so excited that you had 5 customers. What a wonderful first day. It will take some time and word of mouth to get going. Let's see a pic of that pole.
Need to get busy,,,,,,, Have a great day.

Howdy ho everyone. Its a cool Tuesday here in Missouri but of course the day will end up in the 80's. I'm just sitting here in my recliner drinking coffee with Jackson snuggled up with me. I love the mornings that are nice and quiet. Think I'm still tired from my day out yesterday but I've got to get on the treadmill in a bit. I feel my eating could have been better this week and we'll just have to see what the scale says tomorrow. I rarely anyway have a loss two weeks in a row. Its so slow going. My choices in food are okay but I can see they could have been better. But I guess I didn't get this way eating right in the first place. LOL
Solly- Good job on the exercise. I can see where you're going to be toned up for sure. And you're getting the added benefit of a walk home from the gym. But boy that's allot after working all day. You must be exhausted at night. The week end just ruins me. I get on a good eating plan during the week and then here comes the week end and kills me. I've just got to try harder I guess. What are jalapeno cheerios? I'm dying to know.
Monet- Wow the vase is wonderful. You must be so proud of you're wonderful talent. The person that gets this we'll be so lucky.
Crystal- I'm with you. My biggest problem has always been emotional eating. Let something happen here and where will you find me? Why the kitchen of course. Its so hard to eat right when life is messing with you. Here's hoping things smooth out and you can stay on track. Lets do this new month proud and get with it. Cause you know those holidays are going to start hitting us soon and we've got to be strong.
Well guess I'll go eat something. And of course have some more of that good coffee.

Hello. I want to get back to Sugarbusters. I have been eating too many "white" foods lately! Anyway, I have the book however I bought it about 5 years ago. Has much changed? Should I purchase a new book?
Thanks!!

Hello, Melissa! The book has hardly changed at all. The plan is still the same. Basically, avoid the whites, and high glycemic stuff. The only change I can think of is that carrots are now ok. They figured out that the way they had tested the glycemic index of them was off.
I hope you will join us! It is a small, but friendly and helpful group.

Thank you so much! I am sure I will be posting lots of questions. I joined Curves about a month ago and I have not lost ONE pound! I am very frustrated. I know Sugarbusters works...that has been the only thing that has helped in the past. I do not have a lot of weight to lose but 15-20 pounds would make me feel a lot better.
Are the carrots ok raw and cooked?

(copy/paste of a post on the General Chatter thread...the kids are bugging me to come out to the living room, but wanted to give you all an update, so I'm cheating)
Okay...end of day two and I went to the bank to deposit over a hundred dollars! Rent is already 1/4 paid and its only Wednesday!!
Today I had a guy come in that came in yesterday to tell me that his haircut is the best he's had in years. Everyone always cuts it too short. And I had a guy give me a $5 tip because I trimmed his mustache, eyebrows and those pesky little ear hairs as part of the cost of the haircut. And I got to do a cool haircolor that came out wicked awesome. I've had a bunch of people come in just to see the place and say it looks nice. I'm having a ball!!
Monet: SWEEEET piece of work, my dear. I wouldn't want to part with it, either. Thanks for sharing the picture!!

We decided to use a coupon and go to the new bbq place near us for dinner. The pulled pork was really good! I got okra and green beans, and did not eat the Texas toast. So, all in all, I did not do bad at all!
MELISSA: Yes! Carrots are ok both ways. I think it is preferred to eat them raw, but cooked is ok. I can relate to your frustrations with Curves. I used to be a member and lost like six pounds the first month, then nothing! I finally let my membership end, and joined LA Fitness since they have a pool and water aerobics and were cheaper!
TECH: Yay! Glad it is going well. I wish I lived close...I would come in for a cut! I am getting decidedly shaggy!
