EVENING EVERY BUDDY!!!

We have gotten SO BUSY at work. We had a couple fly in from Alaska yesterday to see one of our Surgeons for some "back work"...They will stay until the surgery and then afterward for the care also. It was fun setting this up for them. To call them, you might as well called THE SOUP CAN because that was what it was like. They aren't Eskimo's though...I was kinda bummed about that!

JACKIE...I'm so excited that I can't stand it. Did you read in the paper all the damage that was done after the game Saturday.....if they beat the GATORS, there won't be anything left in Lexington! I'm not giving up on the VOLS, they play at 12:30....BEAT BAMA!!! It's on Jefferson Pilot so I'll get to see that. It should be over by the time YOUR GAME starts!!!
Are y'all suffering from the drought like SE KY??? My Brother lives in Danville now (since he got married) and I noticed it was raining there today as well.

TONI...Was your roast tuff? I find that when I do a boneless, it tends to be that way...I just love a bone in hunks of meat that I cook...Last night, I put
2 inch centercut porkchops on the grill after marinating them over night..MAN WERE THEY GOOD!

MONET...I've got your check ready to put in the mailbox in the morning. You should have it by Friday or Saturday. What's for supper???

CRYSTLE.... Hey Girlfriend...good to see you...I hope all the hard things go away really soon!

MAABLES....{{{{{{{{{WELCOME}}}}}}}}} we're glad to have you with us. My suggestion is forget the gravy....it's pretty hard to make good gravy without all that sausage grease! I love the Spelt products, but can't help you with the biscuits....

I'm off to fix some supper...See you LOSERS later!!

Bob my roast was tough a little bit. But I sliced it really thin so it was okay. I really was disappointed in it. Should have thrown it in the pressure cooker. Your pork chops sound so good. I'll probably have fish again tonight. I seem to kind of eat the same things durning the week.

MAABLES: There are several recipes for whole wheat biscuits in the recipe section. I have made a couple of them, and they were not too bad. I make gravy with broth and whole wheat flour. I have used broth and cornstarch. Not legal, but you don't need grease for it,and it tastes pretty good. Just need to limit how much you eat of it. Pie crust isn't hard, you just need to make sure you don't over work it. I make it with 1 1/2 cups whole wheat flour, 1 stick of butter, 1/2 t. salt. Cut the butter into the flour with fingers, or a pastry cutter until it looks like coarse meal. Then add ice water - about 1/2 cup total- just a bit at a time until the dough just sticks together. Press it together, roll out on a floured board. I use whole wheat pastry flour. As for soy flour, I avoid soy like the plague. It is not good for your thyroid, and I have thyroid problems.

Thank you all for your wonderful suggestions. I was afraid the gravy might be a bit much...but can't blame me for trying.

Morning all.... Its raining here and gloomy. Maybe our fall will be prettier for it. Wish we could share our rain with one of the states that really need it. Well I gained 1 lb. this week. I know its over having wine over the week end and I've just got to choose to not do that. Also need to get my butt to moving with some exercise. Well now I've got a new week again. Hope I do better.

Bob- Is that a dry mix then you add your stuff to it? I'll look for it next time I go shopping. Thanks for the tip.

Monet- I'd misplaced your pie crust recipe so thanks for the reprint. Its time to start thinking of those Thanksgiving recipes. Wish there was a Whole Foods around here. I would love to buy a pie crust already made.

Mabbles- I think its such a good thing to think of things to cook that you love. You never can tell what someone will come up with.

Well guess I'll finish up the coffee here and figure out whats for lunch. Think its going to be a tuna sand. I'll have to cut up some veggies to put in it.

Maables- I just talked to my sister and shes a diabetic she makes gravy by using wheat flour. She said it comes out grainy and not as smooth but just as good as regular. So you can make biscuits and gravy.

I had my doctor's appointment this morning. I am going to like this doctor. He goes by how you feel and not the lab tests. Yay! I then took my car to drop off at the shop and went out to lunch with Laura. I was going to be bad and get a burger, but I got the meatloaf instead, with two veggies. It was rather seasoned, but pretty good.

I am about to change and get down to the garagio to work. Later!

MAABLES: Ditto what Toni said about the flour for gravy. You CAN do it with whole wheat...it is just not as smooth but tastes pretty good.

Good afternoon. I just love coming to the board. You guys are the best. Things appear to be calming down. I don't want to say it too loud..LOL

Jackie...We can do this I know we can. It has just been SOOOO hard this time around. I got spoiled the first time. It just fell off and this time I lose in ounces instead of pounds and one cheat seems to put it all back. I wonder if it has anything to do with being older? Water is a big issue. I need to start drinking it again.

Toni...Your pie recipe sounds yummy. We are cloudy here in my part of Texas also. Day before yesterday was our rainy day. My pasture looked like a lake.

Maables...howdy. Welcome to the group. One of my favorite holiday treats is the crustless cheesecake in the recipe section. YUM YUM

Bob...thanks for the well wishes. Hopefully it is time for the mountain top again. I know the valleys are benificial but they stink.

Monet...Good job on passing on the burger. I wasn't such a good girl yesterday. I dont' know that I should be so honest but I ate a whole sleeve of crackers. I'm so weak.

Stormy is in the kitchen cooking something. I"m curious what since she is suppose to be making salads...LOL Speaking of food we tried fresh mozzarella for the first time yesterday. It is WAY different from the stuff we usually buy. We LOVED the fresh.

Awww the smell just hit me..Stormy is cooking bacon. Bad girl...LOL

Love and hugs,
Crystle

EVENING EVERY BUDDY!!

DANG I'M TIRED....AND THE MASSES ARE NOT EVEN HERE IN FORCE YET!!!

TONI...yes, it's a packet. My grocery stores quit carrying it so I order mine online. Let me know if you can't find it and I'll give you the address..It comes in HICKORY and MESQUETE (sp>?) I especially love it with my grilled chicken...I take the chicken (boneless breast), cut it into strips (after grilling)
take a tortilla, spread it with MARIE'S CHUNKY FETA DRESSING and put the chicken on it and wrap it up...OH...MY...GAWD!!! It's to die for!

MONET....Glad you like your new Doc...I MAILED YOUR CHECK TODAY..... So, you had a meat and two instead of a meat and three... I just love it when I go to Greenville...there are so many good MEAT N 3's places there...good ole country cooking!

MAABLES...be sure to let me know how that gravy turns out...I just can't imagine....I'm from the SOUTH....born and raised and I don't know any other
gravy but the good ole greasy kind...

CRYSTLE...Honey, I do know about those valleys....I believe when you get to the MOUNTAIN TOP...you need to let it go and scream your head off.
Did Stormy fix your bacon real good and crisp??? I do mine in the microwave on paper towels...I know a lot of people who bake their bacon on the broiler rack. I've never tried it that way, but they say once you have it, you don't want it any other way.

Now I want bacon....so I think I'll fix some and some scrambled eggs for supper. Kate had a salad, grilled porkchop and some corn...

I'll catch y'all on the flip side!

Good evening. We're having a rain storm here and are under a tornado watch. One has already touched down and did some damage this evening in another part of Missouri. I love how they tell you to get out of a mobile home and lay in a ditch. I guess you would drown cause the ditches are filled with water. Besides its pitch dark out there. So guess I'll take my chance inside. Hope it doesn't mess up me watching Larry King tonight. The hard rain makes our dish go off. And Dr. Oz is going to be on Larry. Dinner was good tonight. Fish baked, steamed asparagus and a salad.

Bob- I may have to get that site from you. Being in the boondocks is sometimes a real disavantage. Oh my gosh that wrap sounds so good. I've got to make that.

mabbles- Hope the gravy turns out good. Are you going to make some whole wheat biscuits to go with the gravy?

Crystle- Hope your dinner turned out good. Just keep coming here you'll slowly get back on it. You can do this. I know what you mean about getting spoiled the first time around. I'm having a heck of a time and eating healtier than I ever have.

Monet- Thats so good you like the doctor you went to. Thats so important. I have the best heart doctor but my primary doctor is for the birds.

Well poo the program I was going to watch on Larry King is changed. Guess I'll go pout.

Slow day here in SB land. I have been going all day! My older daughter came to visit today. She lives about 45 minutes away, so I don't get to see her often. She works as a assistant bakery manager for Publix, so she is working 50 plus hours a week. It is always a treat to have a day with her. She is very artsy, and makes jewelry and sews. We went to Hobby Lobby, out to lunch, Trader Joes, and now she and Laura are off shopping for clothes and toys for Kaeleb.

I bought some new toys to use with clay, so I think I will change into some dirty shorts and shirt, and go pull some handles and decorate some piggy banks.

I hope everyone is doing well. We haven't heard from THINWITHIN for a while...or TECH, ROSALIE, THUNDERWOMAN, FILLISE, SAROSE, and where is SEF? I always worry about her when she doesn't post....

Hi all. I came over here today but no one had posted so I didn't. I can't believe how slow we are. I've snacked all day, I can't seem to settle on something. Theres really no news here. WE had a big storm last night. Lots of places in Missouri got tornado's. I think they said we had 11. Have a good evening.
