Hi beachgirl! Here's a link that will show you how to add a weight ticker to your posts.

Thanks for the welcome.

I was talking to my father who just finished phase 1. He lost 15 pounds. When I saw him I was shocked. His stomach and his arms looked much smaller than they used to. If only I could have such success in a short amount of time.

Welcome Veggielady

Good Saturday morning everyone!!
Going out for breakfast with a girlfriend of mine...haven't been out for breakfast in such a long time. Going to stay on the beach, no homefries or toast for me...

Another 1/2 lb gone...now for a total of 8 lbs. It's amazing how just 8 lbs makes such a difference in the way you feel and how your clothes fit. Sometimes I think...oh..it's just 5lbs, 6lbs etc., but when I think of a 5lb bag of sugar, it's alot.

Well...enough of my tooting my own horn..
how's everyone else doing?

Default 4 lbs in 8 Days

Happy to report this 4 lbs loss AND that I still feel really good! We were at dinner at friends' the other night and there was one side of the table that was carb free. It was tough seeing some of the yummy stuff pass by, but comforting that we were all on the same side of the table!

If another 4 disappear next week I will be so thrilled....this weekend I will get some exercise in since the weather is so much nicer. Just returned from the local pick your own farm for delectable plum tomatoes, which I sliced, brushed with olive oil, added kosher salt and chopped garlic - and now they are roasting in my oven. They caramelize and are amazing.

I'm concerned about what will happen when I reintroduce carbs.

Has anyone stayed on Ph I just a little longer? I could do this for longer......

Default Btw

I am in such fear of not succeeding that I don't want to do a ticker yet. But I will say here that I am looking to drop 30 yucky lbs.

Welcome VeggieLady! 4 lbs down already is a great place to start Phase 1 from!

didi123 - Hearing you describe how your clothes fit better with just 8 lbs gone is giving me hope.

RocknRoll - That's great progress since June, congrats!

viv - Congrats on your 4 lbs lost! I'm a little worried about when I add more carbs in too. Well, I'm mainly worried about my willpower. (The bag of chips or Snickers & a soda at the checkout in the grocery store, things like that.)

I'm starting day 7 of P1, halfway done. About 4 lbs down, so I'm excited to see if I lose a couple more next week. I have a ball to go to at the end of the month and that little black gown would like me to be not quite so lumpy so any little bit helps.

Default Sat while filling out college apps....

Kes - remember, there's always Spanx to help at the Ball!

I am going to be soooo careful adding in the carbs. I love the really good whole grains but the issue is always time, ie, I have none to cook!

Didi - congrats on the new pound! BROCCOLI and other veggies - par steam in the microwave, toss with some olive oil and kosher salt, then roast at hi temp in oven. Talk about SWEET!

Am drowning in college apps with DS today. College 1 is ED and a reach, but it would be nice to have this all end with that app!

It's day 6 and still doing well..................this is totally amazing me! I'm not getting on the scale until Monday. I don't want to get discouraged.

I'm confused about dairy products. I've been eating hard cheeses and see that people are talking about cottage cheese. Is this OK to eat? Also, are there things I can put in my desk at work if I need " a little something" to tide me over?

Sjerz - The little Good Fat Good Carbs Guide that goes with the plan has been really helpful for me. I picked up 2 at a library book sale and keep one at work and one at home. If you specify which cheeses you have been eating, I'm happy to look them up for you. Parmesan is Limited.

Hello all!

My name is Mary and I'm a SAHM. I have a 13mo son.

My dh and I are going to start back on the Beach on Monday. This past week has been "cleaning out the fridge/cupboard" week.

We tried it a few years ago before I got pregnant.

Wish us luck.

Mary, to The Beach!

We don't need to wish you luck because it looks like you have already started planning. That is key!

Please post on the Phase I Thread where we share the trials and tribulations and successes of Phase I and also join the daily chat where we do a sort of over the back fence chat about anything.

So I'm starting the beach today.. Again. I weighed myself and was disgusted. Had eggs with a little bit of avocado, string cheese, and fajitas for dinner.. No tortilla:-). Depending on how well phase 1 works for 2 weeks, I'll stay on it for 3 weeks like I did the first time.
Also did my pilates workout and 20 minutes on the treadmill today:-). Looking forward to working with everyone else with the WOE!
