Didi: way to go, Chick! Congrats!
Dcap: I've added in some carbs as I've crossed over into phase two but I feel a bit sluggish so I'm going to cut back on what I'm adding in. As for feeling full, I try to load up on more veggies and lean protein and consider the pita or bran cereal a treat. Although, I put cinnamon or pumpkin spice on my cereal and it's lovely.
Jenny: You are doing amazing!! Hope I can keep up with you
Dcap: I haven't really added alot of carbs back in. Just thin sliced whole wheat bread for lunch sandwiches. I've also used a bit of flour to make some of my dinners such as Scallops or Turkey Marsala. Staying away from high glycemic veggies. It's been so much easier for me this time..I'm preparing my weekly menus and shopping accordingly. It has not only made me stay on track, it's also easier knowing what I'm making for dinner when I rush home.
Hi! My hubby and I are doing this together!! I've had real problems the first four days...now it seems a little better. I just have to make this work. A real prob I'm having is constipation...even though I eat what I should and drink water. Any suggestions???
redd hatt, let me first say Welcome! You have come to the right place to get your questions answered! Are you eating beans? I found if I snuck some black beans in my salads or made turkey burgers with black beans mixed in, it helped. That was the key for me on p1 along with drinking lots of water. Maybe some of the other girls will have some other ideas for you! Good luck, and join our daily chat so we can get to know you!
Welcome, redd hatt! Constipation is common in phase 1. You need to make sure you increase your water and your fiber. Foods with fiber (like beans) can really help. I also use sugar free Metamucil with my breakfast and that helps.
hey all i am looking for a buddy on sbd because weekends and my fiance kill me! I think i will do alot better at the beach with a little support from people on it..if you would like to be my buddy contact me..thanks i am excited and looking forward to using this site as a resource and a mental pick me up!
You really need to read the book or look at the FAQ section. I don't know how you are going to do this without reading the book...it really is important. It is not a diet, it is a lifestyle.
You can usually get it at the library...but I would recommend going to Wal-Mart because it is under $15.
Well I'm really pleased with myself for not feeling guilty about this fact...I've officially fallen off the sbd wagon. It's ok though I went out of the country on vacation and ate my way through Europe. Actually I lost my final 6 pounds while on that trip to reach my mini goal. Now I'm back in the states and ready to start phase one again. I have to say that I can totally see how the carbs and sugars really can bring you down, make you sluggish and not feel the best that I can feel. Went to the gym yesterday and had a terrible work out - not enough energy.
