Chicago doesn't usually close either, Rhonda. This one is a doozy. Stay safe.

Yes I heard on the radio this morning that over 600 flights were cancelled at O'Hare - thought of you Vickie - hope you are staying safe and warm.

Nothing major when I woke up but it did start snowing around 9:30 am and it's still going strong. I imagine the drive home will be stressful - altho coming in this morning was a breeze - guess lots of people did not go in to work today!

Rhonda - hope you did not have to throw that hissy fit and that you and everyone else made it to the meeting okay!

How horrible about the personal info being used by someone else - I have seen 'movies' about this but can't believe anyone would do that in real life - it sure sounds scary!

Have to drive dd to her dad's tonight and kids have dance tomorrow and I have a hair appt at 1 pm - sure hope the snow has stopped by then and I can get there - these gray roots have GOT TO GO I can't stand it anymore - and my hairdresser just back from a month in the dominican republic - bet she will look tanned and rested and I can't wait to hear all about it!

Thinking about leaving work early today???? hmmmm

And this is what I am planning to make for dinner (with salmon) - saw it on TV the other day and it looked very delicious: http://www.cityline.ca/foodandentert...#37;26+Seafood

Frouf, we don't get much snow at all here in north central Texas. We maybe get an inch or two a year but not every year. What we are more likely to get is ice, but again that's only once or twice a year and usually lasts only a day or so.

Ann, that's scarey. I'm glad your bank is covering everything. I hope they catch that critter. I am very inspired by your not turning to comfort foods. I hope I can be as strong as you.

Rhonda, how did the meeting go? Did everyone show up? You know how it is here in Texas--snow or ice and everything shuts down.

Frouf, I am spikey and loving it. My famous cowlick is causing a bit of a ruckus, though. Oh, well, I feel spunky again.

Well, the meeting was held at 10 AM, everyone there, laughing that it was the university way and we could expect a closure. Sure 'nuf: by 11AM the place was closed. The meeting itself went well.

We are the third largest employer in the city. Can you just imagine how much time people had to spend getting there in order just to go home??!!

I trudged home after going out to get corn tortillas for DH. As you can imagine they aren't sold in too many places but one place is close to my work. But, nothing is close on a day like this. I told him it was a good woman who would go get tortillas for her hubby in a blizzard!

The mexican grocery store also cooks limited foods. I had two soft corn chicken tortillas...of course, not core, but not so awful and really tasty.

DH shoveled at 12:30 he says. When I got home at 2:30 it was if it hadn't been done. I did it this time. I'm sure in another two hours it will need it again.

GO HOME, Frouf!!

I'm going to have some hot tea, take an Alleve, have a hot shower, and take and a nap!

Rhonda

Hi Everyone! Hope all of you are doing GREAT!
So, I just thought of another interesting thing I can share with you about life in Saudi.... the weekend here is Thursday and Friday, instead of Saturday and Sunday! Weird huh?
So, Saturday is the new dreaded Monday and Wednesday is the new TGI Friday... confused?
I was so confused once I got here, but now I get it!
So, goal wise, I think I'm doing OK. I've lost 11 lbs since I joined your group, so Thank you! I am hoping to lose another 20 between now and the end of March. If I meet that goal, then my weightloss journey can really begin! That means I would have lost all my baby weight! (I've had 2 back to back pregnancies/c-sections) Kind of looking forward to that clean slate...
Any tips are welcome,
Noussa

Good afternoon all. Vickie, I hope you are staying warm and safe.

I think I'm coming down with the local crud, but I am trying to keep my eating good. Lately, every time I get sick I let my eating get out of hand, so I need to really watch it.

Luckily, it was an early dismissal day at the school today, so I have the afternoon to sit wrapped in a blanket and work on business stuff. I'm working on an online job application now.

Happy Friday everyone!

Rhonda, Doyle's a lucky man having a wife who will peril a blizzard for him some Mexican food. Sounds like you two are getting a lot of exercise shoveling snow.

Angela, I'm glad you can snuggle in a blanket this afternoon.

Noussa, on losing 11 lbs!!! You are amazing, woman. Thank you for the info on your weekday weekends. That's interesting.

I am having a good day and hope all of you are, too. Ain't life grand?

Hi Everyone
Just a quick "HI"
The wind is picking up. And the lights have flickered a couple of times.
So I wont address each of you. But do know that I am thinking of each of you.
We have had a wild day with the weather. Freezing rain. Then just plain rain. Then it started flooding in some areas. Had to let the schools out early. Now it is getting windy. And it is starting to snow.
Dont think we are suppose to get much snow though.
Well ladies. Have a great evening.
Again. Thinking of each of you.

We've had high winds, too, Coco. Hang onto something and don't blow away.

Hi everyone. Hope you are all holding up well in the storm. We lucked out in New England -- alot of windy rain where I am (south of Boston). North and into NH, they are getting ice. No fun.

Noussa, congrats on the loss! Thats great to hear you are doing so well. Love hearing about the cultural differences. I feel so un-educated related to things in the mid-east. Thanks for sharing.

Not much planned here this weekend. Usual Saturday stuff, Sunday am we will be going to MIL. DH and his brothers will be burning brush for her, Sarah and I will be playing inside or maybe helping. Then home to watch the Super Bowl. Can we all Say 19-0!!!!! GO PATS!!!

Have to share this one -- a man I work with knows someone who was in Vegas last August. There was a bet with 100,000 to 1 odd --- pick an NFL team that will have an undefeated season this year. He put $100 on the Pats. When they finished the regular season at 16-0 the casino called him and offered him $800,000. He said no, when they were 18-0, they offered him $1.8 M, he said no. If they win Sunday, he wins $10,000,000. Wish I bought that ticket!

Well, have a great night. Keep OP!

Hi All:

Well, we have shoveled snow three times and we could do more. We went out to a friend's for dinner. The snow plow came by and plowed us in at her house so we got to shovel out our car and another friend's there also. Oh well, it was a great night even though I ate too much. Tomorrow is a another day.

Noussa, I think YOU could give US the tips. 11 pounds! Good for you!

Good night everyone..sleep tight!

Rhonda

Paula, I wish I had that ticket, too. Amazing.

Rhonda, sounds like a lot of activity points shoveling snow.

Hi Everyone! thanks for your encouragement! You know how it is... in the beginning you lose a lot of water weight.... the true test is yet to come!
I hope I don't get disappointed when reality hits and I start to lose 1 lb/wk, if that!
All this talk about snow... I miss it! Seriously! Enjoy it.
So, what's for dinner tonight?

Okay, I know we're not supposed to weigh ourselves every day, but I have been. I really shouldn't, because now I see it going up!! Grr. I think I am psyching myself out, because it seems like there's this invisible line that my body won't go under, no matter what. But this time I will not give up - I will push through it.

It's snowing again today!! I think it's snowed more this winter than I remember it snowing in the last 5 years!

I have a busy day today (do I ever have any other kind?) so I need to eat my oatmeal and get running.

Noussa, congrats on your loss! I hope everyone has a lovely day.

Hey Chicks! Good to see you are all well.

Noussa, HUGE Congratulations to you on your loss. Enjoy the results of all your hard work. Don't worry about when or if it will slow down.

I'm off to get my urinalysis done today and we are finally going to get out for dinner. I'm SO excited.

Sadly, I am truly food driven.
