FireCracker I havent made any appointments yet because I wanted to have a good few weeks joted down in myfitnesspal app first.

It runs in my family though, my uncle has had his zapped? whatever that means, it basically doesnt work at all. My gran has thyroid issues too. I hope its not the case, but there is no reason why I should be putting weight on when I dont eat anywhere near the amount of calories that many websites say that I do. Its not even like (oh you dont eat enough), because eventually I would loose the weight on a low cal diet. But Ive been pretty big for around 18 years. I had my blood tested about 8 years ago, but I was never told if the results came back with anything worth worrying about. So I feel like I am going to go for another blood test. Then hopefully see what road to take to try shift the weight.

Scotsgal - Ohh ok. Well I hope you get it all figured out!

BeEffective - Great job! 65 mins...I would die too haha 45 is my max

Stayed under my calories and went to yoga last night. Haven't been in two weeks and could really feel the tightness in my back.

Today I weighed in... 230 on the dot. I wish I could get out of this slump and get past the 230-229 window.

Had a starbucks sandwhich for breakfast (350 cals) and have a small lunch so I still have around 1000 calories for dinner. Hoping to go for a walk after work as well.

Hope everyone has a great Friday!

I've had a roller coaster couple of days exercise wise. Wednesday was wonderful - I was 13k on the steps! But my day was super busy and I didn't end up getting in until after 7 pm and I felt like that was too late for dinner, so even though I was hungry, I just went to bed.

That meant Thursday morning I woke up all shaky because I was so hungry. I didn't get my mile in before breakfast. And then I took my boys on a tour of an historic prison, much of which was outside. There was no water available for purchase along the tour and I hadn't brought any. I bought some before I got back in my car but it was too late. I was shaky again - this time because I was hungry and dehydrated. I ate as soon as I got home and felt much better. But then I had no time to exercise because I had to go to a cocktail party. The good news is I only had water. Just a little over 6k steps for yesterday. Lesson learned: If I haven't eaten dinner and I'm super hungry, I should just go ahead and eat something because a strict 16 hour fast is no good if it renders me incapable of my morning workout.

Firecracker - I'm all into supplements. Part of the reason I think I was so hungry before was that my body was starving for the right nutrients (that, and the diet coke was throwing off my blood sugars). Now I take an embarrassing amount of supplements and I've gotten my sister on a few of them too. She has PCOS and she's finally losing weight.

Forgive me! I've been sulking and hiding out. I gained 1.5lbs back and was dang frustrated! Last night when I did my workout instead of doing my normal 40min elliptical or tredmill I did 15 minutes of elliptical and did a weight circuit. Dropped almost 2lbs! Woohoo! I will try not to shun myself from the forums in embarressment... because that's part of what the community is, a support team! We are all going through the same battle just at different stages of it.

In terms of the 2lbs overnight I think my body was retaining water. I am less than a week from my cycle so that seems likely.

WELCOME Amberkkski, Thousandsunny, Firecracker777 and RetroRabbit!!

Scotsgal I am so sorry about the 3lb gain! Trust me I understand the frustration! When I started the high water intake I always retained a bit in the first couple days and then with some workouts or walking it started to come off (and obviously can happen again once in a while like my situation above). I got my thyroid checked several years ago actually hopeful that it would be the problem (my grandmother has thyroid issues that affect her weight) - no go! Dang that I don't have an excuse haha.

Amberkkski I totally get the struggling frustration! I've been battling the last 3 lbs back and forth. I have always had trouble when I get down to the 230's to get past them! I'm hoping it will work out this time. I find myself completely going off my original food plan about 2 weeks in as well. What I realize is ONCE IN A WHILE it's good to increase the calories a bit because it throws your body for a loop. Overindulgence is a big issue for me too. Sometimes what I do instead of say a whole piece of cheesecake is opt for crackers with peanut butter and mini chocolate chips. I had that last night when I was needing chocolate so bad.

MrsTibbles Keep us in the loop with your progress! I am dying to know how the new WW program is. They changed it up a bit this year (who'd have thought, they change it every year!) and it looks more feasible. I've been wondering if my calorie count(1220) is too low so I am anxious to see what happens! Grats on the scale dropping again! It's always a bummer when a mini-plateau happens.

Treasa Great job getting that 13k steps on Wednesday!! I'm trying to convince myself to get my 10k a day but I haven't been successful yet. Especially switching to some weight training. My pedometer only read 1k after work yesterday and that was a drag that I sit on my butt most of the day in my cubicle! Don't deprive yourself of food! There are some foods that are okay before bedtime. I've googled exactly that 'healthy food options before bed' and come up with some pretty decent suggestions. Agreed about the fasting though! Get that workout in girl!

Thousandsunny How do you like your Fitbit ChargeHR? I've been wanting to get one but hear the HR isn't very good. Any thoughts on that? I might just get the regular Charge. I wish you all the luck with the 5-6 miles a day! That sounds like it will be awesome!

BeEffective Keep up the walking/running!! I am considering seeing if Pattonville (school) will let me walk/run at their track... I feel strange just going up and doing it without asking. Is that logical?

Firecracker777 I feel the same way about the 230-239s! Get me out of this weight bracket and into the next!

Firecracker777 and RetroRabbit Welcome welcome! and ! Good to have you!

Awww MrsClayton gutted for you, but I bet its just temporary - bodies misbehaving as they do! I'll keep you updated, my weigh in day is Tuesday now, though I weighed in just now and i'm currently looking at a 1lb loss so far So it is moving again thankfully. But i'll wait til Tues to update it officially.

Treasa Wow @ 13k steps, that's awesome!! But you're totally right, if you aren't able to function normally then you definitely need to eat! It doesn't have to be something big, just enough to keep your blood sugar level You're doing amazingly!

BeEffective 65 mins, wow!! That is very cool. Keep it up !

Doing well today, been a super rainy day, and I'm a bit of a pluviophile so I had a nice cosy day watching the rain in my slippers. Going to possibly get a takeout tonight with the family, If i can find something that fits in with my points/calories (still tracking both at the moment just out of interest ) but i'm not too worried if not. We'll see.

Did 30 mins of horribly un-co-ordinated dancing last night (no time warp this time i'm afraid ) and tonight I will lift some weights. If I can keep up a nightly rotation of Dancing > Weights > Pilates, I should at least be getting a little but more active.

Hugs to you all! Weekend!!!

Returning from my 4 day trip with the kids. Exercise-wise, I think I got plenty! Up and down stairs & lots of walking. Food-wise. I ended up cheating bites here and there, which I felt super bad about! Came home and asked my husband, who didn't go, if I looked lighter. He said: no. I'm so disappointed for giving in to temptation! Evn though I packed and ate my meals, as I prepped sandwiches for the kids, I wanted a bite too! Ughhhhhh!!!!! My weigh in is tomorrow so we will see. Hopefully I walked it all off!

Apologies for not acknowling everyone today! Upon our return, my 6yo caught the flu so I'm at the Drs with him. Getting a few mins to catch up while he gets treated. I'll go back and read later!

MsTibbles I am a bit of a pluviophile as well! I didn't know we had a name! I need to tell my husband he will think it's so funny. If it could rain every day both of us would be perfectly content. Darn for missing the Time Warp! I swear something about it just makes you so happy! I like your rotation! I can't wait to get to 199lbs and reconsider going back to Zumba! I love to dance! Don't forget to change up your routine once in a while!

ladyvwj Good luck on the weigh in! Even if it's small its always an accomplishment! Or maybe it will be the same! I went to Chicago and walked around like CRAZY and ate horribly and didn't gain or lose any weight. I will take it! So sorry your little one is sick! Never a fun thing! Break out the bleach and Lysol!

Mrs Clayton - I use a private track/recreation area owned by the neighborhood subdivision. The school districts are pretty strict about not opening up school property to the general community. Even if they say it's okay for you to walk on their track in the evenings, you will be surrounded by all the varsity teams and perhaps even the marching band as they train. Personally, I would find that very awkward! Why not just open the front door and head out in your neighborhood to start? It's free and always there!!!!!!!!!!!!!

BeEffective I always see a lot of non-students walking on the track so that's why I was thinking it might be applicable. I did not consider the fact that it's summer and its training time! I would use the neighborhood except we don't have sidewalks for a good portion of it and I am partially deaf. It takes me a while to find out what direction noise is coming from so there is concern about walking on the street and not knowing where a vehicle is. It's also why I never learned to ride a bike. I wouldn't be opposed to walking in the grass but I have very weak ankles that sprain easily. When they get stronger I will consider it though

Ahh! I'm back up over 180! Those frustrating fluctuations! I know it's water because my rings are tighter than they've been in a couple of weeks. Plus, I haven't done anything to gain weight. Even though today's my cheat day, I'm going to get my steps in so I can have some guilt free wine with my high salt dinner tonight. My rings will probably be super tight tomorrow, but with my crazy body, who knows?

MrsClayton - That's unfortunate about needing permission for the track. The high schools around here let anybody use them. Are there any college tracks nearby? I know lots of people go over to use the track at St. Joe's University. Also, I've lived in cities that had reservoirs you can run or walk around. Those might not be as smooth as a track, but I don't think you'd be at high risk for a twisted ankle.

Hi everyone!

Amberkkski Drooool, I love McD's breakfasts! The wraps especially. Hope it was good!

Treasa Fluctuations are driving me mad as well. I'm a pound down this week, but it's been all over the place, sitting at 276, going up to 278, down to 275, back up again... I'm thinking that part of the 7lbs I lost week was probably water weight... which then came back,... and I lost again in fat I really want to get one of those super techy scales that calculate your water % and stuff. Keep at it, it will settle!

ladyvwj I hope the little one feels lots better soon!

MrsClayton heheh it's a great word isn't it! And awesome about the zumba. I'd love to try it as well but i'm pretty sure after about 2 and a half minutes i'd be flat out on the floor whilst everyone else around me giggled
I went to a beginners' dance class last year, and it was awful... I got asked if i had appropriate shoes... when I said no (first class) she asked me what size.. I said 8! She looked aghast and said "OMG, We don't have EIGHTS!" Then I proceeded to attempt to join in the class (which was clearly more advanced than beginner) and had to take several breaks throughout (embarrassing enough!) ... at the end of the class the teacher turns to me and says... "Are you going to bring your bed next time?" cue much giggling from the lithe and beautiful ones I just smiled sweetly and flipped the bird when their backs were turned Overall not an experience i'd want to repeat, but an experience nonetheless.

Goals for the coming week included purchasing a pair of trainers (mine have gone walkies without me, it seems), taking aforementioned newly purchased trainers for walkies WITH ME IN THEM, and drinking more water and less diet pepsi.

I hope your weekends are all going as well as possible!
