Hi you guys!

Treasa Awww bless you <3 She'll be back at Christmas before you know it! Well done on the stairs and lifting, that's really excellent~! Glad you had a little treat too, you deserve it!

LesGetFit I totally feel you on the sodas. I started drinking diet sodas years ago because of course they are calorie free... my vice is Pepsi Max. It tastes like normal cola but it is totally calorie free.. but its SO SO BAD for you! All the additives and sweeteners and stuff... I have tried multiple times to swap it for water but it's not easy! I do admire you for that! Well done! Yay for getting a scale too. But I totally agree with Amber on the once a week weighing. Wish I would follow that advice myself!

HaveDogWillDiet Hahah, thank you! And I totally agree - I use free time to interwebs about weight loss and health too. Always good to be informed! (And to hang out with this lovely bunch of course).

My scale was still being mean to me, so I threw it out.

(It was old and a bit unreliable anyway )

So I have a lovely new one now, which not only measures my weight but remembers my height and age, and records my body fat % and water % and bone marrow %. I'm still 2lbs up today, but waiting as patiently as possible for the whoosh. The new scale said my body water % was lower than normal. So I deduced that logically I should drink more! So I am getting through a liter or two of water this evening in the hopes that will flush the clingy little buggers out.

My body fat % is coming in at about 40%, which I think is quite a bit lower than when it was last measured (last october-ish). My BMI is now 40.2 - not long til i break into the 30s! Just hoping against hope against hope that that scale will shift again soon. DOWNWARDS. 3 weeks on Sunday til we leave for Disneyland and I want to be at or below 268 by then.

I hope you are all doing well - FRIDAY TOMORROW! Hugs!

letsgetfit - Soda is nothing but candy in a glass. Gross carbonated candy. It's really okay to let go of that habit. You can do it!

BeEffective- I know it's just basically candy that is full of acid, and basically poison for your body, but man, I loved the stuff. I was totally addicted for years. I was drinking at least 400-700 calories of the stuff per day, and probably more on some days to be totally real. I would drink ice cold glasses of it all day long. I have tried limiting myself before, and it never lasts, so this time I just knew it had to go completely. Now that's it's been a little over two weeks, it seems like no big deal.

MsTibbles- I could never drink any diet soda versions, they all taste so strange to me, even the ones that are supposed to taste normal. Glad you got a new scale, I will probably have to invest in a better one as I get closer to my overall goal.

Even though I said I would weigh in once a week, the scales are new and I can't help stepping on them all the time. This morning I was 220 again, just like yesterday. Works for me.

I've been walking for 10-15 minutes at a time. I'm out of shape and it's VERY hot here, even first thing in the morning, so that's really all I can manage. I did 10 minutes this morning before coffee, and this afternoon I went out for another few minutes. Turns out this time I walked at a more brisk pace for 20 minutes without stopping. So improvements in my stamina are happening already. I will go out for one more walk early this evening.

Still doing the water aerobics every other day. Just doing exercises recommended by some basic fitness websites, like underwater jogging, crunches, bicycling and kicking your legs, treading water, swimming.

Honesty I have lived such a sedentary lifestyle my whole life, that these small things are bound to make a big difference. I have always been an inside girl, who wanted to curl up with a book. I never cared about exercise or doing any sort of outdoor activity, haha.

I'm happy to be making some simple changes, and I hope everyone is feeling as good as I am today!

Hi Ladies - I've had a lousy couple of days exercise wise. Not so great food wise either.

I'll catch up with all of you on Monday!

Sorry Treasa, hopefully the next few days are much better!

Yesterday was my first mini binge. Went to a Chinese buffet and ate easily twice as much as I should. I did try to eat mostly lean meats and tons of veggies, but I did have a couple of my favorite wontons. I chased it wth tons of water. Can't be perfect all the time!

Letsgetfityou should be super proud of what you're doing! Baby steps are way better then no steps and absolutely anything active helps!

Treasa hope your back on track today

So I am beyond happy that yesterday morning and this morning I weighed in at 238.8!! -2.2 it feels so good to be back on track these last few weeks. Hopefully it sticks!

Hope everyone's weekends are going good it's a shame Monday always comes so fast!

MsTibbles – the new scale sounds like it will really help you. Keep on trying. Hopefully the #’s go down soon.

LesGetFit – Feeling good is the whole point. It’s definitely a great start! And wontons?! One of my weaknesses!

Amberkkski – Yay on your lost! Keep it going!

I’ve been super busy with the remodel. I did go to Zumba Thursday night. For Friday I worked out with Leslie Sasone’s Mega miles. On Saturday and Sunday I tried Jillian Michaels. I haven’t tried her videos in a long time since it last sent me handicapped. I modified 50% but I think it still worked. I burned the same amount of calories in half the time spent on Leslie.

Diet wise, it’s been so hard! The alcohol here and there and the not-super-lean-high-sodium meals are not helping me. I went to a Kelly Clarkson concert with my girlfriends Friday night. Ofcourse we had to go to happy hour before the concert. I had a small salad with a couple of hot wings and bbq ribs.

At my weigh-in Saturday, I lost 1lb. My dietician said I did well to get that change. I’m beginning to get disappointed in myself since I know I can do better.

Week 3: 180.0

Seem to be stuck in this 178 zone. Am going to need to push harder this week to get past it!

Scale is stuck for me too, but I'm down two inches and have lots more energy (most days, anyway, haha). Hope everyone has an awesome week!

Forced myself to workout last night after work for 45mins. I did well with my meal plan until dinner. I gave in and had some chicken curry soup - high in sodium! My plan for a successful week has failed so far.

On another note, we got a break from the renovation. Place a mess? Don't worry, we are working out anyway! I moved the ladder and tools to the side, put my laptop on the step stool, played my videos and worked out. I'd post a photo but I have not time to go save it paste the url. So you all will have to imagine it.

Thanks everyone

lady I know I do the same thing but you really have to view it as you still lost 1lb that's no gained weight and that's absolutely good for one week!
And good for you with that work out motivation! I wish I had half of yours lol

So I know ZIP ZERO NADA about weights at all and was talking to a really in shape friend of mind who recommended crossfit for me for the support and because its all classes where they show you what to do and whatever only thing is 1) 145.00 per month! (WHATTTTT!) and 2) my work schedule sucks! I literally leave at 7am and get home at 7pm so now I would have to leave at 7am and not get home until like 9pm, which seems ridiculous

Hi you guys!

It's been such a frustrating time! My weight went up and STAYED up, despite eating at such a defecit. I was at a complete loss Eventually I realised what was wrong - about 6 weeks ago i stopped taking my mini-pill, thinking that being hormonally au-naturel might aid my weight loss.. in fact it did the opposite and my body gained 4lbs and refused to let go I think it was probably water but it would just not let it go, no matter what I did. It even went up to 5lbs at one point. I decided that it might be better to withdraw from the pill when I am at goal instead.

So I started taking it again about a week ago and I have gone back to normal plus more, currently sitting at 270.5lbs (0.5 lb down on my last weigh in weight). Considering this time last week I was back up at 275 I'm happy! I've been set back about 2 weeks but I'll still be really happy if i can be in the 260s by Disney, which is only 2.5 weeks away now. I SHOULD do it. It's only 1lb. But at the moment i'm not taking anything for granted - it was scary to think that I had no control over my weight even when I did everything right! But I have gained a new good habit - I drink a litre of water every day now.

Amberkkski I'm so totally pleased for you - keep going!! You're so close to 50lbs now!!

LesGetFit You're totally right, and I think sometimes it is even good to give your body a break and have a day off. Yay for inch loss!! Keep it up, awesome work!

ladyvwj You are doing amazingly and a loss is a loss! Like Les says, can't be perfect all the time, you have to live too!

I hope everyone is doing really well, and will catch up with you soon!

MsTibbles- Glad to hear you figured it out and are heading down again. You can definitely make your Disney goal! And good for you on the water! I am up to 2.5 liters each day, and trying for 3 liters. It was tough at first because I was so used to soda all day, but now I'm used to it.

Amberkkski- Crossfit seems way too intense for me, but almost everything I know about it is from watching people on the Real World MTV Challenges, haha. You do seem to have a pretty tough schedule for such an intense type of training. And $145 a month is a lot! It may be worth it, but I'd wanna try it out first. If it helps it would be worth the money and time.

Ladyvwj- Can't wait to see pictures! And good for you for finding time and space to work out during that type of chaos.

As for me, we have a couple days of slightly cooler temperatures. My walking was enjoyable for the first time. I am walking between 3-5 miles each day, trying to hit 5 if possible. Today for the first time I added a few jogging intervals, but not many, haha. It's a start.

Beautiful day at the track yesterday with all these dragonflies fluttering around.

MsTibbles - This weight loss process can be so frustrating as there is so much about losing weight I just don't think anyone really understands. I don't think it is so simple as calories in versus calories burned. I don't think either that 10,000 steps a day is any kind of magic solution either. You've made great progress. Keep faith in yourself.

Next year the FDA is changing the labeling on about 20% of all packaged foods to reflect more accurate serving sizes, caloric values, etc. It should be noted that the serving sizes on food labels have never been the FDA "recommended" serving amount. It's never been an indicator of a healthy recommended amount to eat of any product. It's just been a way to measure nutritional facts about a product. That won't change. What do all of you think of the proposed changes? Will it actually dramatically change your food buying habits? Up to this point has it really had much positive impact on your choices?
