Scotsgal - My usual weigh in is saturday morning. That's a great idea to use the Boots machine - I am using a pair of weight watchers electronic scales at home at the moment. I may borrow your idea though, that sounds more reliable! Got my paws crossed for you for saturday. You can do it!!

BeEffective - Thank you!

Treasa - Hello, welcome!

I will try and join in the mini-challenge too. Planning to start lifting some weights, huuuaah!

Hope you all have a lovely day today!

Ms Tibbles - whenever I do anything with weights (or even Pilates), I initially gain weight, but then there's usually a big whoosh where a fair amount of weight starts coming off rather quickly. I just wanted to share my experience in case you also initially see an increase on the scale.

I did well on my diet. However, I didn't meet my 30mins walking goal last night. I purchased Leslie Sasone's 5 Mega Miles. Barely survived Mile 2, so about 20mins including warm up and cool down. It gave me a good sweat though! In the past, I'd have to do an hour of turbo kickbox to get that sweat! Looking forward to tonight's workout. I usually prefer morning workouts but am still too tired to get up in time to squeeze in a work out. I want to try her belly blasting too! Side note: finished the painting in my lil' guys room. Up next: hallway adjustment! But, I get a weeks vacation starting tomorrow with my sister and her two girls. I'm planning to stay on my diet course. I hope I can do it. We will be on the road. My weigh in is Saturday and I will be restocking ready to eat meals! I might just purchase additional L&G or prep in advance since the hotel has a microwave and refrigerator. My worry: the restroom stops every 30 mins!

Treasa - Thank you for the heads up, I'm glad this has happened to someone else too - a few months ago when I lost a few lbs, I seemed to stop losing and wobble between gaining and losing a pound after starting to lift and it was quite discouraging! I'm guessing its not actually fat gain but fluid and muscles fluctuating, etc!

Ladyvwj - well done on your workout!! if you're sweating, you're burning! You're better than me. I really really don't like walking. I'm sure i'd like it more if I were fitter... but the problem is... I need to walk to get fit Have a wonderful week away! Sounds like you have a good plan in place

I am actually terrified that I havnt lost my 4lbs this week. Like mentioned before I actually havnt been able to make choices on food this week. Which has meant that I have still been under my 2000 daily limit but not always under my 16/1800.

Hang in there Scotsgal! Today's a new day!

I'm a fairly normal 6/10 today. Yesterday ended up terribly for exercise. A little more than 6k steps and at no point did I work up a sweat. I tried to make up for it by having a big bowl of broccoli as my dinner. Today's a lot less driving and I'm a lot more rested so I should be able to hit my 10k.

Well this morning I had a bowl of cherrios, which actually didnt last very long, after about an hour I was hungry again which shocked me.

Then for lunch I could tell by myfitnesspal app that I needed to get some protein in, of which I only had cold cuts (cold meat), so I put a good 50g of it onto a sandwhich. I am hoping the protein will make me feel fuller for longer because carbs just make me feel hungry ALWAYS.

We only have pasta for dinner, So I am hoping that I can find some random frozen bag of veg that had possibly stuck itself to the size of the freezer and frozen over. It will mean I can eat less pasta but add the veg to bulk it out.

Goodluck Treasa for hitting your 10k today, every step counts
p.s a bowl of broccoli actually sounds pretty apetising to me lol

Yesterday, I didn't do so well with my diet. My 1wk vacation started today so I had meetings and outstanding items to finish yesterday, throwing off my timed eating. By the end of the day, I had missed 2 small snacks. Workout was great! I completed mile 1 & 2 of the mega miles for a total of 45 mins with warm up & cool down. I'm so feeling it today in my limbs! I'm on travel today to my home town to pick up my nieces. So far I've said no to fast food and beer!

Scotsgal - I won't eat cereal anymore for that exact reason - I end up famished! And often tired, kind of like a crash a couple of hours later. Too bad, because I really used to like cereal - Not just its taste, but also its convenience.

Unless I'm having just veggies, I need protein and fat at every single meal. I actually eat eggs every morning or I don't feel right. I do add two slices of Arnold honey whole wheat bread with Kerrygold butter. That breakfast probably has just as many carbs as a bowl of Cheerios but for some reason it stays me better.

I'm lucky that I don't get bored eating the same thing every day. It's more the opposite with me - I don't feel right if I stray from my usual breakfast. I guess I'm a stick in the mud!

ladyvwj - It's hard to keep saying no to the fast food. I gave up beer about a dozen years ago and switched to wine and that I limit to once or twice a week. Actually, wine is the main reason I'm not losing weight faster. Three glasses on a Saturday night probably equals the rest of my sugar intake for the week! But for me, this eating plan is all about what I can do for the rest of my life and I really don't want to give up wine.

Scotsgal - I think you've had success this week. You've made a commitment to a life change and took small steps in that direction. It takes time to build a new life approach. Weight loss isn't going to show up every day or week. But maybe this week you reduced your mental stress or thought about food differently or found an online support group for fellowship in your journey. You did lose 4 pounds - awesome!!!!! Are you sure you are having hunger pains versus the beginning of serious sugar withdrawal?

Terra1984 Thanks!

Scotsgal you are doing incredibly well - ultimately, whether or not you make that 4lbs on the scale I'm pretty sure that you will have come close. Remember that in some cases you can lose fat but the scale doesnt pick it up, whether it be fluid, muscle, whatever. I bet people are going to be really pleasantly surprised when they see you sunday - prepare to smile a lot and say "Why yes, I HAVE been working out..." fingers crossed for you for tomorrow though. I know how important it is to me to have that scale number.

I've had a good day today - Friday is usually takeout night in our house and my mum offered to get me a special treat of takeout Nandos (My absolute drool-worthy favourite!) so I accepted and I made great choices, had a medium-spicy butterfly chicken breast and a corn on the cob, coming in at about 506 cals for that meal so it fit in perfectly. The scale is weighing me in at having lost another 2lbs, but i'm waiting til my official weigh in tomorrow to count it properly.

I hope you are all doing well today!

Okay so I did 20 minutes at the track last night and 1 hour and 10 minutes this evening. I've made improvements in my diet but a lot more needs to occur in the weeks ahead.

BeEffective That's awesome, well done <3

first weigh in since restarting today, lost 7lbs this week which makes a total of 22lbs since October. Feeling even more motivated now and ready to take on week 2!

I did an hour of dancing last night. I even did the time warp. I'm glad it was dark so nobody could see in the window...
