Have you lost the 38lbs on South Beach???? If so...how long has it been since you started?

thanks again,
Di[/QUOTE]

Di ~ I've been eating the South Beach way since January 2004, and that's how I lost my weight. It's the only diet that's ever worked for me. I really have to buckle down, though, and get serious about losing these last few lbs. I've been bouncing around for way to long! How did your chops turn out? Your idea sounded pretty good. When I make the Tex-Mex porkchops, I usually only marinate the meat for several hours, and they turn out great.

Smile Third day

This is my third day on this diet. Over the years I have been on every imaginable without long term success. So far this is working for me. I'm not hungry or craving anything.

I'm looking forward to all the support this forum has for us. Thanks

Hey Chicks
How is everyone doing????
Welcome sjerzelady

Cottage- the chops turned out great. I sauteed onion & red peppers, cut a pocket in the chops, threw in some feta and added the onions & peppers enough to fill them. Used a toothpick to hold closed. Sprinkled the chops with a salt free garlic & herb seasoning and pan fried (no oil)....
Had some leftover onions & peppers so I topped them with that.

Kestral- Good for you that's a great NSV!!!! I know I'm going to have a tough one on Sunday, it's my niece's 1st birthday and we are Italian...so you know what that means...lots of great Italian food. As long as there are meatballs, I'm all set...tee hee

Well, I'm still holding onto the same weight for the last couple of days, but that's okay. I need to drink more H20...I haven't been drinking as much as I should and I have the bottles of water right under my desk, but I just forget to grab one when I'm busy.

I'm so excited to be back here

Have a great day everyone..

Di

Good morning everybody :-)

Day9...can't believe it....and going strong! Going to the Dr's tomorrow in the a.m. and get weighed (had an appt last week, but didn't look to see how much I weighed--too chicken for now) and find out how much I've lost. I'll be sure to post it...

Cravings: pretty much have subsided. As long as I don't dwell on them, I don't crave them. I may want cake, but I want to lose weight more. I also had gone about 4 days withouth having any diet soda, so last night when I took a sip of the diet Hansen's peach soda, it tasted sooooooo sweet. I had to slowly sip the stuff and put almost half a can back in the fridge.

And whoever on here said that broccoli tastes sweet to them now.....I have to agree! Last night I had some broccolini and they actually tasted sort of sweet to me. My my. How much my taste buds had been perverted by all that sugar in my diet. I also hadn't realized how much sugar and starch was in my diet pre-SBD until it was eliminated!

Have a great Thursday!

Morning ladies! Day 5 here. Garbanzos sound good, I know I have a couple cans in the pantry so I think I'm going to toast some as a snack.

I didn't realize how much sugar and carbs were in my diet until I started SB again either. It's not my meals so much as it was the "casual" intake of carbs & sugar. A graham cracker left over from the kids' snack, a pack of powdered donuts at the store, 3-4 sodas a day. Yikes!

Can someone please tell me what kind of creamy salad dressings I can have on Phase 1? I usually eat Ranch or Blue Cheese and just can't bring myself to eat oil and vineagar type dressings. Is Maries Blue Cheese or Ranch allowed? Thanks

Karen, see response in the daily chat thread. Are you on South Beach now? If so, ; if not, continued success to you on WW. We do have a thread in the FAQ about the WW/SBD combo.

Talking Another lb down!!

Morning chicks...
another day and another pound down. Sorry if I keep tooting my own horn, but seeing it in writing keeps me motivated...

Anyway...hope everyone is happy on the beach today

Beachgirl- I can' imagine broc tasting sweet ... I'll let you know if I get the same feeling...tee hee

Monday should be my first day on Phase 2, so there's lots of menu planning to do. It's really lunch that is hardest for me, so I think I'll be adding bread for a sandwich. Didn't really like the lettuce thing as bread.

Good luck everyone and have a GREAT day!!

Di

Wow! Over 100 posts! Shall we start a new one on Sunday or keep this one going?
Didi, how about adding a half sandwich (one slice) and see how it goes? I think the book is full of brown stuff with it's Phase II menus. Most chickies do a Phase 1.5 to transition.

Hello everyone! I decided to switch my diet to give my body a nice weight loss boost. For the longest time, I tried to avoid the SBD because I thought it was just one of those eat all the meat you want diets. Those diets would be hard to follow for me since I am a vegetarian. Anyway, I read the book, and realized it is nothing like what I thought it would be, so I decided to try it. A few weeks ago, I started phase I, but didn't follow it strictly, and still managed to lose 4 pounds. I am officially starting phase 1 strictly today.

VeggieLady. Yes a lot of folks get us mixed up with Atkins. This plan is totally doable for everyone. I'm glad you've joined us and congratulations on your loss so far!
