Hi everyone! Just checking in to say I am still here. LOL For me, I am doing pretty well. Years ago I could lose 50 pounds in 6 months and have gained it all back within a year. learning nothing. I started trying lose this time almost a year ago now in August (not exactly sure of the exact date but remember it was sometime in August). To be almost 60 pounds less and learning to eat within my calorie range has been quite an education. I am not eating too low like I did when I lost it super fast so I am not hurting my metabolism.
KStrong It's amazing how quickly we can gain and how much work it can take to lose it! A big congrats on being so close to your March low!! You must feel like Wonder Woman losing so much and keeping it off!
flower1 Losing two pounds a week is really great! Congrats!

L&L's Mom - You are doing wonderful! Good for you learning your lesson this time around and keeping it off. That is great that you've found a good calorie range to keep you both satisfied and going in the right direction. I've been adding back in a few things to get my calories back up so I won't get into bad habits of eating too low for too long. It may take me another year to get off the last ten if I stay above my minimum calories, but I just need to be patient. Easy to say.

Day 38
I got in 6+ miles yesterday and some heavy lifting/loading. Today is my last super heavy lifting/loading day and I am back to normal exercise routines. YAY! This morning: 2/10ths of a pound away from my March low.

Hang in there KStrong!! The mama in me wants to say "you need to eat! Don't eat so little calories!" You're the expert with your body though. I know your body will eventually realize you aren't actually starving yourself. Even if you didn't lose another pound keeping the pounds off is still quite an achievement.
Me, I am still plugging along, going for the goal of 199. It is cool to really see it in the mirror and with certain clothes. From a 24 jeans now to an 18. One of those 18's even look loose!

Have a great weekend!

Thanks L&L's Mom! I'm eating more these last few days so no worries; more on that later.
You are doing great! Seven pounds to Onederland and NSV clothes. Awesome!

Have a great week!

Day 44
The scale finally moved in the right direction. I'm now 1/10th of a pound away from my lowest (in March).
Completed 6.7 miles yesterday. 4.5 in the rain but it was more of a refreshing spritz much of the time. Not my usual speed but it felt great! Did all three sets of my strength routine this morning, but the last one wasn't pretty. #stillstruggling

Day 45
HALFWAY through my challenge! I can't believe I made it this long without any misbehaving. Definitely a record for me! I can't say that it has flown by and 44 more days seems so long, but even before I weighed this morning I still felt positive about the whole experience. And getting out of the 160's would be an extra bonus. I'm also hoping that I'm picking up some good habits that I will maintain through the holidays instead of just saying that I will. For once! #lifegoals

I ended the day with 6.34 miles. I timed my walk perfectly right before the sky fell out. I've kept my calories in range the last two days and Sunday was even on the high end of my "losing range" so this morning's scale numbers gives me some hope that I won't have to "starve" to maintain this weight.

In scale news: I finally hit a new low. In measurement news: I finally hit a new low in my hips. I think I was maybe 15 y.o. last time I was this small and I was two inches shorter then. And, I updated my 2021 chart that somehow stopped grabbing data on July 1st and my trend line wasn't as bad as I thought. Today it is actually flat instead of going UP. I'll take it!

Thanks so much, L&L's Mom! Hope you are well.

Day 46
Ended yesterday with 3 miles, but got lots of upper body stuff done. Two days of new scale numbers. Less than TEN now to a "healthy" BMI.

Day 47
Still chugging along. Still not feeling great so I've decided to skip my walk today. I'll continue to do my minimum steps. Yesterday ended up at 3.63 miles but it was a busy day so I think it was more than that...

I took a break from my exercise this week as I was quite tired but I plan to do a long walk today (my first of the week). I was down 1.4 lbs this week for a total of about 13 lbs since the end of May (about 6.5 lbs per month). Overall I'm down 30 lbs and I think I will try for a total of 40 lbs (10 more to go). This is the second time I have lost these same 30 lbs and I hope it's the last time. I'm going to have to make sure I continue to exercise (key for me) and eat healthy. As KStrong said it's a lifestyle and not a diet. I agree that your calorie count has to be in the reasonable range so it is maintainable. Too low and it's not maintainable and I think it contributes to yo-yo dieting.
KStrong
- your exercise and dedication to your plan is impressive. I second what L&L's mom said - I want to be like you when I grow up

L&L's mom - I hope you're doing well

Have a great weekend!

Have a great weekend!

Flower on the 1.4 this week! Let's hope this is the last time we all see those hard fought 30 lbs! Good luck on the next ten! Maybe we will both get them off before the holidays. AND not gain them back.

Day 48
In ONLY Positive News Today: I lost another 1/4 inch in my waist.
Just did my min steps yesterday coming in at 2.83 miles but this morning I'm going to venture into the heat before it hits 100 degrees for a decent size walk.

Hi flower1 and KStrong! You both are doing great! I have lost weight numerous times before but did it fast and learned absolutely nothing. I also hope this will be my last time losing it and I keep it off this time.

I am doing good with my weight loss. I am at 206, so only 7 more pounds to the 2021 goal of 199! I know 7 pounds in 5 months is not much really, but that magic number will be awesome for me.
