KStrong You might be right about timing and the site refreshing especially if you stall in finishing your post. I am still copying and pasting just in case. LOL I hate to jinx myself but sweets haven't been too tempting for me (like the Halloween candy). Once in a while I do want vegan ice cream but I include it in my calories and try to have it earlier in the day.

I think once I get the 196 or 195 goal, the amazing one will be 194...70 pounds! I was focused on the getting under 200 and didn't even think of that at the time. It's funny how I seem to lose more on my hips than waist. I know the waist will catch up but it's now 8 inches lost on my hips and barely 6 in the waist.

L&L's Mom - I've never been a big sweet eater either, but when it gets around the holidays I always get cravings.

Have a great weekend everyone!

I read your post and it made me think of what I have read about carbs so I looked it up again. "Carbohydrates, or carbs, also cause the body to store extra water. When we eat carbs, the energy that we do not use right away is stored as glycogen molecules. Each gram (g) of glycogen comes with 3 g of water attached.

Cutting down on carbs is a quick way to use up the glycogen stores, which means that the water weight will also be reduced."

It's enough to drive us crazy, huh? LOL I think for you at your lower weight it's going to be more obvious the carb eating and bloating issues. For me now just counting calories seems to work OK.
Today I am 197.4!

Great job L&Ls Mom! . Thanks for posting the carb info. I knew that it carried extra grams of water but I thought it was even more. In my case it's more like 100x.

HAVE A GREAT MONTH ALL!

KStrong I wish I had some great advice to give, I just believe you hanging in there and plugging away as you have been is going to be rewarded.

I have been going through a LOT of stress lately. I already deal with anxiety issues, etc...so oddly enough it really effects my appetite (as in not much appetite). Sigh. It really sucks. I have been taking my meds, praying, etc...My weight is 194.2 but I wonder if it's maybe too low since I haven't been eating as much as I could? We will see. I am not trying to be a downer, but trying to be real.

L&L's Mom I'm amazed at how many commonalities we have. I suffer from anxiety also but I normally do the opposite of you and eat or drink for comfort. Same with stress. I don't take any meds but I probably should. The only thing that helps me is to try to not stress over things that I have no control over and also taking long walks. I hope things get better for you and I know you know your body better than anyone so you'll do what is right for you. Hang in there!

My measurements are finally back down and the scale is slowly following. I know I need to quit complaining because my clothes are comfy and I'm not ready to buy new size 8s yet so no need to rush...
Stay strong y'all!

Thanks for your support KStrong! You mentioned eating and drinking for comfort. I have to admit I have drank too much in the past. Way too much and using it as medicine so to speak. If some was good and helped, why not drink more? It was too easy for me to overdo it and made it a very bad habit. Around the same time I decided I was going to try to lose weight I also stopped drinking too. Who else stops drinking and takes up losing weight in a pandemic? LOL

You wearing a size 8 is awesome. To go from plus sizes to size small is amazing! If I ever got that small it might make the national news. LOL Today I was 194.8, it went up some as I knew it would simply because I had more solid food yesterday. I still can't believe I have the 1 as the first digit!

L&L - You are doing fabulous! I think you already hit another goal early.
I hear you on the drinking. I gave it up over the summer and usually only drink on special occasions or no more than once a month. It gives me the munchies and I lose all of my willpower so as much as I enjoy it, I have to stay away most of the time.

I haven't bought any size 8 jeans yet as I have so many size 10s that vary now from fitting right but tight to comfy. I would never think of me fitting into a small overall because I'm so top heavy but all of my medium jackets that were tight last season have room to spare now.

KStrong Thank you, I did reach my new goal early and was wondering if it was real since I haven't had much of an appetite. Right now I am 195.4 so basically I am the new goal I was aiming for by the end of the year. Now I am only "overweight" and not "obese." My new goal is 194 just to say I have lost 70 pounds. I am still impressed with the size 10's and medium etc...I am not sure what size I will end up being but I really think even a medium or 12 would seem like a dream when I have been mostly plus size as an adult. We shall see!

Thanks L&L! I felt the same way as I crossed the 199.9 threshold. It had been so many MANY years at the obese level. All I dreamed of was just being overweight. I think we all have to make that decision for us when we get there. I'm pretty happy at this weight but still have a little bit of tummy that I'd like to get rid of. These are definitely vanity pounds for me. If I could wear my jeans everywhere Id probably never worry as they are the modern girdle/Spanx for me.

You girls are tall! At 5'2" I need to get to 163 lbs, down 30 more, to be overweight instead of obese. I just need to keep working at it!

Wannabehealthy You are right, we are considered tall. I guess I never think about it. I subconsciously just know I am taller than almost everyone wherever I go. I am even taller than some men. LOL You are also right saying you just have to keep working at it. I have learned this in the past 15 months or so. If you said last August when I was 264 that I'd be 195 a year later it would be hard to believe! I haven't been this weight in 30 years for real. You can do it! I preach writing down whatever you eat and to keep your calories at the level of what you'd need to maintain your goal weight. For me, I am saying I want to get to 160. At 160 at 53 years old and mostly sedentary I'd need 1600 to maintain that. I try to get 1600 calories a day and if not I stay for sure below 2000. I hope that made sense!

KStrong I get what you are saying about the jeans! I have one pair that I LOVE and it's a shame they are getting to be too big now. LMAO I am looking forward to being at your vanity pound level but really am even enjoying being an 18 and not a 24.

Very good advice! I will have to find the calories for my goal weight, but I'm not sure what that is.

Wannabehealthy I use this website to calculate mine. I do the goal weight first and then the current. If my current says I need 1900 to maintain that and the goal weight is 1600 to maintain that I have a good idea of calories to stay between. Basically I am pretty sedentary so I use that. I figured on days when I am not I will lose a bit more. https://www.calculator.net/calorie-calculator.html
