Welcome flower1 and welcome back VickieLou!! I see the stats from you both and wanted to encourage you both. If you googled the average American female height and weight you'd see it's 5'4 and 170. You are both less than that so you are better than average! VickieLou It's amazing you have lost over 100 pounds. Just keeping that off is epic!! Stay encouraged and keep plugging away!

I am still working on my personal goal of 199 by the end of the year. I know it's doable. If I lose two pounds a month it will happen.

Thanks for the welcome L&Lsmom and congrats on your 50 lbs. You're doing great.

KStrong: Great job staying on plan and congrats on your loss I understand how you feel about bouncing around for the same 10 pounds. I did the same thing for almost a year - stuck in the 150s and was finding it very difficult to stay on plan. It took me quite a while to get back in the right mind set to start losing and exercising again.

I was down 2.2 lbs this week which I'm happy about I update my weight above each week.

Congrats flower1 and KStrong!! You both are showing the rest of us that we have to keep working on weight loss. I think we seem to think we will get to goal weight and it's done (or close to it). But really we have to keep watching the calories daily or the weight will keep going up. Do you exercise? My daughter (the liv in my login...Olivia) is a teen and healthy weight but she does exercise as well. She does cardio and some weight training along with takes dance classes. She has danced since she was 3 years old. She loves it! I have never been an exerciser, but do walk with her a few times a week. As I've lost weight over the past almost year it's gotten much easier since I am getting stronger and have less weight to carry around!

KStrong As you said to me before, we have had similar paths. I was also dieting at a young age. I can remember being 12 and eating Weight Watchers frozen meals vs what the family was eating thinking it would save calories. I was always a little heavier than the other girls. I am tall so being a large felt huge next to the smaller size small girls in high school. Sigh.

You are lucky to be tall though. I'm about 5'7" in my sneakers and I've always wanted that extra inch.
Have a great week everyone!

Congrats KStrong!!
You really are strong like your login says! I think most of us know those cheesey quotes are true like you can only achieve what the mind conceives or the opposite theory of if you think you can't then you are right. "I'm too busy to eat right and exercise" then you won't since it's impossible, right?

Thank you. That is so true! So much of what we think we can't do is all in our minds.

woo hoo!! Yay!! You go girl!!

What keeps me going is the little goals each month. I am also on a thread that posts our mini goals each month. Like for June I said I'd like to make 55 pounds. I can break it down to tiny pieces since I have a way to go. In the back of my mind is also the mini long term goal of seeing that 1 as the first number in my weight (my goal for this thread) by then end of the year. It's almost surreal. I KNOW I haven't been in the 100's vs 200's in well over 20 years. It's hard to believe sometime that I am "only" 12 pounds from 199. I know you understand since you've been here yourself.

Happy Wednesday

I did a lot of exercise until about age 20 as I competed in a sport. After that I have always done some sort of exercise but at much more leisurely pace. Currently I walk about 4 days a week for about 2 to 4 miles each time and I do yoga one day per week. I just started golf lessons 1 day per week for about 6 weeks which I have never done before. So far I'm enjoying it. I'm down 1.8 lbs this week.

L&Ls mom: I agree that mini goals are helpful as I like to break it down in smaller chunks. I belong to the June exercise challenge and set a goal for the number of minutes of exercise I want to achieve for the month. I also belong to the June weightloss challenge and try to meet a goal each month.

KStrong: Great job staying on plan I agree the right mind set makes a huge difference and I have to remind myself of that. As a former competitive athlete I used to practice visualization and positive thinking which was very helpful when trying to achieve a goal. I need to apply that to my weightloss as my weight has bounced around a lot in the last 5 years. I would like to get back to being at a consistent weight and staying there.

Have a great week everyone. The sun is out so I'm heading out for a walk later.
