Oh Holly-PLEASE posts pics of them if you can. I'd love to see them!!!! They sound gorgeous-I would love to be able to do the pretty bakery things that you do!!!
Well, you're surely an energetic group. I'm guessing I'm older than most. Anybody else over 50?
So what is my program?
1200 calories
no sugar or white flour
40 min walking daily (as a start)
Wow Holly, I would like to see them too! Yes I am thinking of adding a new DVD to my work out. I have one of those old step blocks for step arobics but I need a dvd. It came with a tape and we have no VCR. I am also going to gets some arm weights. My biggest issue is tummy so that is where I need to loose and focus??
I am having a good day and am feeling like I am back on a good cycle to loose again. Well see. I will check my weight on Sunday. Amy how can you go so long with out checking your weight.....I can barley wait throught the week.
Elyse - what a pretty name! I'm usually pretty secretive about my age ("Over 40 Biker Chick" ) but I'll own up - I'm 44. Welcome, again!
aphil - as soon as I can, I will post some pics, thank you for the enthusiasm! They're more a labor of love than profit. I enjoy knowing that it's something not everyone knows how to do, and I love to hear people exclaim over them. I think I like making them because it's therapeutic - and it's something I'M in complete control of ("I choose to make you all pink!! with sugar bunnies!!!! bwahahahahahah!!!")
Holly ~ girl you crack me up with your little "one liners" or your Bwahahahahhaha" that is just to funny I cant wait to see your creations to, well I should just drive down there and get one, Im only like 3 1/2 hrs away, they sound like they would be worth the drive!! (road trip, hehe)
Well I have been doing good staying OP this week, as usuall the excersise could be going better but at least I am eating good and healthy. The snowbanks are only about 2-3 ft now instead of the 6-8 ft we had a week and a half ago so it looks like spring may actually get here sometime, and that means walking, yay!!!
Looks like everyone is going good, glad to read that, keep it up!
Hi everyone, I'm always here just always lurking. I've been staying OP as regards to exercise but i've fallen into a really deadly trap of craving potato chips at the end of my workout. I've been trying to stop...I stay within my calorie range but the junk in my body is unnecessary. I was doing so well the 1st month...I think its TOM, when aunt flo is around I feel like I have no control over what I eat.
Good new though I AM formally training to run via the great help of nikerunning.com, SO my new mini-goal is to run the revlon breast cancer 5k runwalk straight through no stopping. That takes place in times square on April 30.
Vermont, I wanna see pictures too your description has intrigued me!
Elyse Ima lil baby...22...but I have minimal energy
I am feeling great today. Spring is in the air. It is going to be a great day so I am going walking after I eat my lunch. OP and did 30 minutes on the elliptical along with a long nice full body stretch! Boy, after eating out all weekend I thought for sure I gained weight Well I broke down and weighted my self this morning, mind you after eating a large piece of toast with peanut butter and a "friends" size mug of coffee....I was a at 153.0 after being at 154.0 Sunday and for over 2 weeks I think all that mall walking helped and I tried to order good food that wasn't too bad. It gets me so motivated when I see a loss on the scale !
Last night while I was laying on the floor with my DD watching the turtles eating, my DH starts picking on us and decides to leg wrestle me It was so funny...He tried his hardest to out strength me and my legs were stronger than his! LOL I am getting in better shape with each month that passes. It is a good feeling to actually be almost 2 years into my program and still loosing, still sticking with it and not gaining it back! I truly believe this time is forever and I have broken through the 3 month "diet" and have move into a true life style change. I think that is the whole key to being successful in this battle. My DH told me last night that he was going to start taking better care of him self I hope he does. He as been sick for weeks with a cold I think he sees me and that my plan is working????
Hope you all have a great day and a nice Easter...Don't eat too much candy!
Hi all,
Well, already I stayed up too late and got into the sugar. It is clear that I need to add 2 important things to my program:
1. Get to bed earlier - much.
2. Exercise before getting on the computer in the morning.
So tonight I go to bed with my husband (that sounds funny). Or if he goes early 11PM is my committment. I have a bad habit of staying up until at least 1am and sleeping veeeeeeeerrrrrrrryyyyyy late. And nighttime is the worst. I totally lose my sense of fullness (if I ever have it).
Brooklyn Chick - "minimal energy" - congrats on committing to that 5k run! that is awesome!
amie, I am so psyched for you!!! you are doing so well, and seeing the loss on the scale even after feeling full from your morning meal - that is GREAT!!! I think also, this is IT for you - it will be a lifestyle change that you will always stick to . GOOD FOR YOU!
Lisi, I have also gone to bed early to avoid the kitchen!!! It is hard to break that habit...but we can do it! And I also agree, sometimes disciplining ourselves is what works - like saying "no computer 'til the exercise is done!"
I will try to attach the easter egg pics, but I think they'll have to be resized. I get mad at myself when I can't figure that stuff out and it seems I'm always bugging my husband to do it for me. So if you don't see it below, it means I have to wait for him to get home to help.
Have a great day!! it's snowing here now oh well, it's still March!
Well, I'm doing better but have a ways to go. No sugar yesterday, but stayed up late.
Vermont - thanks for your words. I'd rather have a cicle than a pickle too.
Today we go out to lunch and I need to be careful on the portion. It is ok to get hungry later, I don't have to eat the whole day's calories at one sitting.
Elyse
Hey everyone! Elyse, hang in there with the late night cravings. My problem time used to be around 5:00 in the afternoon right when I got home from work. My habit was to go straight to the fridge and see what was there. I'd usually end up with a big spoonful of peanut butter. (evil habit picked up from loving husband). Anyways, I started going to the gym after work and that helped to nip that one because by the time I get home it's time to start fixing supper. Also I've started eating a protein bar (Myoplex Lite is my fave)around 3:00 or on my way to the gym just to tide my hunger over....that normally helps!
On the homefront I am Aruba bound in 1 week!! I cannot wait...I swear it's the only thing that keeps me going both professionally and sanity wise this time of year. As of this morning I am at 140. I haven't weighed that since before my wedding about 5 years ago. I am shooting for 139 by next Friday so we'll see! I have really stuck to my plan and am happy to say that I am seeing definite definition in my stomach, arms and legs. I have been lifting weights since July and it is finally paying off in a visual way! I'm also getting alot stronger which keeps my husband upping his weights as well. Even though he outweighs me by 90 pounds (he's 6'3") I think he's afraid I'll be able to lift more than him That'll never happen but whatever motivates him. He's really starting to get the major chest definition...so he's looking really good to me Watching him become more fit and defined definitely keeps me on my toes. Last thing I want to be is that couple that everyone looks at and thinks....What was he thinking??
Anyways, one more pound to reach my goal. Once I get back from the vacation (we're gone for 8 days!) I'll have to re-evaluate my goals and see what the next step is. I really want to get down to 120 by July...but we'll see. I never thought I'd see that size again, but the closer I get, the more attainable it appears to become! Everyone have a good one!
Just wanted to pop in and tell everyone that I hope you all have a great Easter...I am doing good and staying OP so far this week. The weather this weekend is suppose to be nice out (and I might add, its about time) so I think I will go walking somewhere, I definately have cabin fever and Im tired of it!!! I'll probably end up out in my driveway walking circles Ah, well, anything to get out into the nice fresh air, hehe.....
Holly ~ I cant believe it was snowing down there today, makes me glad I moved back up here
Have a great weekend girls, keep up the good eating and excersising...talk to ya all next week...
I'll probably end up out in my driveway walking circles Ah, well, anything to get out into the nice fresh air, hehe.....
that darn snow actually stopped early, the sun came out and it's almost 43 now - with sun, that's balmy!!
A nice angel here is helping me with resizing the egg pics!! Stoopid me, when I took 5 more to the store today, I forgot the digital camera, sigh. Well, I still have Sunday to take a picture of the display.
