  • Hello everyone!

Our trip to Tulsa went well. Had a wonderful time! Slipped off the weight loss wagon, but hopped right back on when we got home. While I was there I hit up some used CD/DVD shops and got 2 Denise Austin workouts for $2.00 a piece. What a deal!! I just love her!!

It's flower and veggie garden planting time for us this weekend. We are adding some new landscaping to our yard this yr. Trying to spruce the house up a bit. We are looking to buy a bigger place this yr, and every little bit we can add to this place will help us get a better price when we sell.

Hubby told me tonight that he wants to sell his Harley. I am soooooo depressed. We don't ride very often, but it's still great to do. He wants the extra cash for our house fund. Guess I can't argue with that....but still....he looks so hot on the bike!!

Hope everyone is well. Talk again soon!!!!

  • Hi Ladies,

I have been MIA as well in here. I have been spending all week long working on my costumes and performance for next week's convention. I am SWAMPED. I am working really hard to try and get everything done in time.

We are going to be staying in a hotel next week and working the convention for 4 days...so I am already making "plans" diet and exercise wise. Just a true test on how you can stay on plan when life happens. When I made the hotel reservations in the fall-I went with a hotel that has a fitness room. I am not sure what all they have-but most have basics like a treadmill, exercise bike, and free weights. I plan on getting up early before the con each morning and getting my workout in. I will also be doing a TON of walking through the day while I am down there.
Our room has a microwave and fridge-so we are taking a cooler down with us so we don't have to eat at restaurants 3 meals a day for 4 days. I am bringing some fresh fruit, rice cakes, almonds, protein bars, bottled water, and things like that to eat so I only have to eat one restuarant meal a day. I plan on having grilled chicken salads-you can get those about anywhere now. I also plan on indulging in a beer or two during a special party while we are there-but I am either going to have Michelob Ultra (90 something calories a bottle) or the new one that has 64 calories if they have it. We plan on having a really good time.
Holly-good deal on the workouts! I love rummage/garage sales and thrift stores-and I always come away with some really good deals. I found tons of great workouts in those places!
  • Uh-oh,
Spoke too soon. No sooner did I tell you the move-in noise story, then the motorcycles are going by on I16 tonight! What's the occasion, anybody know?

Spent most of today in the home office trying to install the software on new printer. On the phone w/tech - but away from the fridg. It was a go OP day - but no exercise.

  • Angelinabtl good for you using the elliptical machine. I just started using it at the gym it really isn't as easy as it looks. I started off at 10 min. then increased to 20 and then finish some more on the treadmill. Then do some wt. res. training. I hope that sometime soon I can say 30 min was done on the machine.
BingleBug hope your feeling better. Take it slow so your don't have any set backs.
HollyBerries I am with you I can't wait to start planting. I do have some spring flowers out but I have seeds and things to put in. Here in Upstate N.Y. we still are having frosty mornings. So I have to wait..
I did my scale thing today as it is my planned time. I was the same as last week. But thats okay at least I didn't gain and slow is better in the long run with wt. loss.
Have a great day everyone I am off to a wedding this afternoon so a workout is needed first for preplanning the extra goodies.
Vermont Mom hope your enjoying the good riding weather?

  • Hi all,
woo hoo, down a pound, I can't believe it. .Its been long time since I was here. Usually I can remember my weight on every special occasion, but I'm not sure when I was here. Maybe 2002-2003. Gotta change my ticker.

Thank you all for being around.
  • Today is the jump back into reality day for me. It has been a busy weekend with lots of things going on. I had a beautiful wedding we attended on saturday. Yesterday was just so nice with a long walk around the lake for exercise. It wasn't as good as going to the gym but beautiful as could be. Today I am focusing on my intake and being healthy, going around the lake with some friends later on. Have a great day everyone. I did get on the scale on saturday I stayed the same. But for me taking it off at a slower pace has always been the best.

  • Hi all

Good going Elyes on the pound lost!

I weighted in Sunday but no loss for me this week I am hanging on at 152.0 still. I want to see the 140's bad. It seem like the last month has been more of a struggle for me on the weekends? I will do great all week and work out all week then on Friday night - Sunday eat a few things I normaly wouldn't (ice cream or cheese on a burger, or mayo, which is my enemy! or chips!) I also have a harder time to work out on the weekend. I just think with the great weather we have been having I am out side all day working in the yard and with the time change...by the time I get inside and get done it is like 8:30 -9 PM and I am so warn out. I ate icecream and ate some chips yesterday. We have been cooking out every weekend and instead of being strick with my self and cooking chicken or veggies I was eating the hotdog, corn and chips with them.....I am doing great, like I said Monday -Friday so I am maitaining just fine. I want this last 27 lbs off though. We are into the 70's-80's here now so it is already shorts weather! I have up my work out to get back in weight loss mode??? Not enough time in the day even more so if you are not a morning person and like to sleep in??

Amy, slow down a little on your trip and try to have a good time! Sounds like fun....

Hi Holly....any riding this week? We were at the Harley shop over the weekend looking at used bikes. Oh, boy...they just started carring new custom bikes. They were so nice. 35-47K !!! We found a Dyna for sale that is a 94 modle. It is not even out yet. They are putting a new fender on it. It has been wraked out, lots of crome, the lower front legs cromed and nice new bars on it. It is black but we would want to paint it and change out the fenders. It has nice crome wheels and a wider back tire too. They are asking 13900.00 for it but we think they will go down to 12900.00. Just have to sell the car now? There are two other bikes he is looking at. A 99 Springer and an 84 Dyna that is loaded but would be more to work on being an older bike? The New Springer he wants is 17K but we can't go that high unless he saves up more money to pay down. I want one of those customs so bad....but $40K You can buy a cheap small house for that or a load brand new SUV! They are bad though! It was fun to look.

Hi Lori......How was your friends birthday party? Didn't eat too much cake did you?

Well lets all aim to stay OP and go that next step to get this weight off!

    Have a great week

    Amie
  • Hi all,
That was short-lived ecstacy. Two open houses at the Pool Club and hamburgers and potato salad and ice cream. I may have to put no sugar back on my committments. Then last night I was up late exasperated after trapping a mouse and then seeing yet another. It headed into the fireplace and then scooted right towards my chair and under the hassock. Yikes. I stood and ate in the kitchen plenty of calories.
Had to file a last minute tax extension because I cannot get the new printer set up. DH was very upset.
    Stressful weekend.

Back to the real world today.
Amie, you've already done so great. I'm routing for you. BTW, you have my name slightly wrong.
Aphil, loved your cooler idea. We travel with snacks too. Good luck at the conf.
  • Hi everyone!

Was having a bit of a problem getting on to the website for awhile, but finally it's working for me. I finally broke through the plateau and lost another six pounds. I have been logging my weight loss and am starting to see a pattern, I hold the weight for three weeks and then have a larger loss??? I upped my calories to 1500 a day, and have been able to stick to it pretty well.

My running is now up to 30 minutes six days a week, and I am really able to cover some distance. I bought my "real" running shoes last week and feel so good about it. I am now a real runner!! As soon as I hit the three mile a day mark, I will start adding long runs on the weekend to build toward marathon ability.

VermontMom - Loved the eggs, I do them with my kids every year. We started with the wilton forms, but now I just use any ol plastic egg to get different sizes. The kids have there friends over and i just premake the shells and have little easter ornaments out for them to put inside. (Of course they do not turn out anywhere near as beautiful as yours)

    Talk to ya all later

  • Hello,
My name is Allison, I am very new to this group (to the site even). I am 27, married with one daughter. I have spent the past 6 years putting on 70 pounds and now I am finally ready to take it off for good. I have tried "dieting" several million times with no luck. Of course I quiet within 2 weeks or less. I have been counting calories, eating healthy and exercising for over a month now. I have currently lost 6 pounds and honestly "feel" better than I have in years. I have a long way to go to my goal weightloss of 55 pounds... but I am staying strong this time (with a little help from friends and support groups!)
    Thanks,
    Allison
  • Allison,
Like the ticker says, keep going. We are a lively group. I'm relatively new myself and enjoy the posts. Look for support before you eat.
    Welcome.
  • Morning All ,

WELCOME Allison, you sound like you are on the right track for loosing, counting cal's and excersising is the best way!! This IS a great support group, all the girls are just great! Glad to have another!!

CONGRATS Elyse on the loss, good for you, keep it up!!

Well we (fiance and I) had a great weekend. We went to VT and went to the b-day party and it was so fun! The cake they had was a special one cause my friends mom is diabetic so she cant have all the sugar and stuff, so this woman made her a white cake with real raspberries in the middle, OMG was that good, I did well, only had 1 very sm pc.(could of eatten the whole thing ) So to answer your question Amie, I did great not over indulging Then we went to our friends bar later that night, there was a band there, they played the 70's and 80's rock, what a good band to dance to, we danced just over 4 hrs , so the drinks I had Im sure I burned off, hehe! Sunday was a beautiful ride back up to ME. high 60's, so we put the top down on the car and had a nice ride home! I have been doing good staying OP and I have gotten right back into my excersise, last night I did arm weights and my elliptical. I only did 23 minutes on it though cause I had up't the resistance and I went at a faster speed, whhheeew, that thing can kick your butt feels good after though, so its all worth it! I am proud of myself for finally "seeing the light"....I have done great the last 2 weeks and it is paying off, I weighed in yesterday morning and I am down 2 lbs, YAY for me .....it does give you more incentive to want to keep it up and stay OP when you look and you have lost, well it does for me anyways .
It is another beautiful day today, high in the 70's, so I think I will go for a nice walk tonight after work then do my ellitical! Have to enjoy it now, they said we'll be cooling off back down into the mid 50's come thursday, figures!!! I knew it was to good to be true
Well you all have a great day and stay OP!!!

    Lori
