Made it home, we had a nice weekend. Bowled 9 games (3 of them over my average, 3 of 2-5 pins under my average and the other 3 well 10 pins or more under my average) My average by the way is 130 so I am not a super great bowler by all means.

Holly sounds like you had a great ride with Pickles and DH

We made it to the Abate Swap Meet and Bike Show, I found a new jacket to go with my new bike. YOu know my Yamaha is White/Orange so my jacket was also White with orange stripe, it just did not go with the new Red Bike. Anyways it was a long day after the swap meet we went back to motel and sat in Hot tub for a bit then I was in bed by 10 it was a long day but fun day.

As far as exercise all the bowling and walking was the extent of my exercise this weekend but I will be back on track next week. I am going to visit the Doc tomorrow since Jan 1st I have really not lost anything but the only change was I started the Depo shot and they said could gain up to 25 pounds but I really haven't gained but that could be because of the exercise and eating for the most part OP. I don't think the shot is going to be worth it for me, I do not want to maintain at this weight.......
I will see what DOC has to say about it.

Tammy sounds like you had a good day with the boys even if you couldn 't go to the museum.

Well I will check back in later have a great night

hey ladies, how are you? I am good.

CC: I bet you are rockin' that white and orange jacket. As far as the depo shots, I don't blame you for wanting to have it changed, but think of where you would be if you had not exercised and ate OP. You and Holly kinda have the same thing going..... thank goodness for maintaining instead of gaining.

Holly: Glad you finally got to ride with pickles and DH. I bet it was good for the soul- huh?

I am still doing pretty badly on the weekends. I am still going to win the bet.... but I am just messing with those couple of pounds. I have a friend that is going to have lapband done in about 10 days..... so in my demented mind, I thought if she could do shakes for 15 days I could do it for 3. So (you all, the lap band friend, and my DF are the only ones who know), I am going to do a 3 day "fast-- of sort". It is going to be hard, but I know I can do it....... this will take me to the AM we leave for N.O. I want to be in onderland by then. After that, I am hoping to get back on track like I was. I know this may not be the most popular idea....... but I am doing it.

I went to the Sauna today. My back has been sore. I thought since I was not going to work and walking on the treadmill desk then I would do Leslie Sansone's Walk and Jog. I liked doing it, but this is the 2nd time I have done it and ended up with an aching/stiff back. I think it is b/c I am running in place on concrete? Who knows. Anway the sauna took away most of the pain.

Talk to you ladies later. I have to finish a few things before I commence in my brain rot show "Rock of Love Bus". Not sure why I watch the stupid show, but I am sucked into it.

Good morning chicks Ladyrider, you go right ahead with a 'sort of' fast, I know you would recognize any danger signs and stop before it became a problem. I would like to see Rock of Love Bus (or is it Rock of Bus Love ?) at least once, every one needs some fun trashy entertainment

ChopperChick, glad you found a new jacket to match your bike and glad you had fun bowling. I haven't bowled in 20 years i think, I always liked it even if I sucked at it

We're having steady soft rain, which is great for nature, great for washing crud off the roads, great for getting rid of snow, but the landscape is just about at it's ugliest. If you want to see Vermont at it's very worst, come on up right now But it's got to get ugly before it can get green and beautiful.

work is....aaahhhghghghgh!!! A woman yesterday sent her 10 year old son to the store to buy her a six-pack. Yes. She thought that was OK. Where are people's heads?!? And my boss told my co-worker that the co-worker's sister smells bad. Well, she does, but I dont think that's appropriate for the boss to say. He actually should be known as Mr. Inappropriate 17 more days til I'm outta there

This morning I did Day 4 Level 2 of 30DS, and then I did a Gilad tape, 40 minutes of strength. You would think that I would, in the moment of scarfing a cookie in the afternoon, recall my sweaty workout that morning??

okay, I need to have something for breakfast and then get ready for the ol grind. Have a nice Monday, everyone!

Holly, you would think on my weekend binges I would remember all of the time on the treadmill desk and the kettlenetics working so hard --- and stop eating.... but noooooooo. Not me. Gotta do it the hard way.

I will stop the "sort of fast" if I get to feeling bad. I think it is doable though. My friend having the lap band has been on it solid for 7 days. I will get to have fruit, so I am going to use them as a snack. Of course, even though I never used to be a coffee drinker--- I am not giving up my morning cup for ANYTHING! I gave up cream and I drink it black with Equal--- that is as much as I give. I have not had my shake yet...... but will in just a few. Btw, I went to a chain health food store and the meal replacement shakes they have are not much better than SlimFast........ But almost 3X the price.

CC: Bowling, I can only do that with the bumpers up lol........ My boys like to bowl, but I suck.

My younger son is going to do the kettlenetics with me b/c he thinks it is a breeze. He even decided he was going to go with a 20 pound weight..... whereas the 4lb kicks my butt.

I am thinking my "Flirty Girl Fitness" should be here sometime this week. I cannot wait!

Y'all have a good Monday.

Hello Ladies, well it is Monday and I sure can tell, but the weather well we are in Blizzard watch right now then turning to Blizzard Warning this evening with like I believe 6 inches of snow and 60+ mile/hr winds- Oh Yay

Well the DR did some tests today but he says it is probably from the shot, I would be gaining if I wasn't so active but the 2 are off setting each other,
he said he will get back to me when test results come back in. I am due to get my next shot April 6th but I think I am going to pass and maybe look into a Tubal, I know I will not have any other children as mine are grown and I want to be selfish and not have to stay home......
I guess I will see what test results bring?

Holly you are getting really close to be done with winter job- that is great.
Summer Job here I come

Tonight we have to take DS (youngest) a new car well not brand new but new to him, it is a 2000 Lincoln Town Car- Bought it for $500 bucks, yes it was a steal but DH works for a Ford Dealership so sometimes we can get a really good deal. DS not to happy about 4 doors but is liking that it has sun roof and all. I just told him he better take what he can afford

Exercise well I am going to get off here and try to get D1 Level 2 done today so I am a little behind you Holly but I am plugging away

A few years ago a co-worker had the lap band done she was looking great but after we all got laid off I did not see her again for a couple of years then ran into her and yes the dreaded gain weight back boy did she ever....

I think I need to do a "sorta fast" thing to maybe jump start something here, I don't know it is just getting very frustrating and to know that riding season is really right around the corner..

Holly your current boss he does sound like he is rude and inappropriate, how the heck does he keep his business going????

Ok well enough of my sob stories today, better get to exercising
Have a Great Night

CC: At the risk of sounding selfish, I am with you with the thoughts of having more children. I am 35 (I started VERY young) and I would be in the fetal position rocking and crying hysterically if I found out I was pregnant-- my oldest is 19 and youngest is 15. Which in turn would not be fair to any baby...... Maybe you can look into that new procedure? I cannot remember the name of it...... but it is not a tubal, but you are supposed to never have kids. The doctor does it in his office. Something like ESSURE or something? I maybe totally off the name. I bet once you come of the b/c shots you will be like Holly and the pounds will fly off as much as you work out. Can you imagine what you would be if you had not had the exercise to "bail you out"? I know I could not have made it this far with no exercise. I know as dedicated and hard working as you are you will make it. You two have worked your butts off (literally). Sorry for the blizzard. It was 74 here today..... I did not ride though. I have looked on the forecast and it is supposed to rain on the way to N.O. Which will be my first rain trip.... but I gotta sometime.

Holly, I have wondered too how your boss manages a business with his sorry attitude..... he obviously has no customer service skills.

Mandy..... are you okay?

I sure hope this girl does not gain her lap band weight back. She is on the very high side of 300 and not very tall. Bless her heart.

I am not digging the "sort of fast". I am hungry..... but not unbearable. I am drinking my supper now and then I am going to have an apple. Boy...... these scales better move off that 2XX number........ I gave up Colton's for lunch and had to see it on the break room table where everyone else ate it. The shakes are really not bad..... I am doing the Cappuccino Delight....... it is really pretty good. I thought about putting it in ice and making it a "Frappuccino". Don't want to get too creative with it b/c it is not a permanent lifestyle.

I am going to get off here. My walking partner just bailed on me so I think I am going to let Jake take me for another drag today (he saw a rabbit this AM and drug me home).

Good morning chicks!

ChopperChick, OMG a blizzard watch, I did see that on the news and wondered if it was in your area, ugh!!!! (I will not complain about our overnight dusting then!) I hope it melts SOON for ya.

Yes, I wonder almost everyday how my boss can manage to stay in business. Did I tel you when someone came in to protest having their sandwich made with TWO crusts (ends, heels) of bread, the first thing he said to her was 'do you know how much I pay for a loaf of bread?' yeah. I think his wife has family money, and that's how they keep going.

I do not think for a second that you should say the word 'selfish' about being finished with two boys, sweetheart! Oh gosh Ladyrider, I was in that fetal postition briefly when I first learned of our second boy, 6 1/2 years after the first I hope you come up with a solution that is best for you, CChick.

I am glad to hear that the modified fast is going OK for you LRider. Wish I had that commitment, even for a few days! And you are right about our exercise 'saving' us. And thank you again for your belief in me

That's a shame that rain is in the forecast for your N.O. trip. You've probably already read of, and heard all kinds of advice, but I will just go ahead and give you more, lol. Just overall decreased speed (if I normally go 55 on dry pavement, I'll go barely 50 in rain) and increased time to go around curves ( I stay more upright instead of leaning into the curve) and increased time to brake.

Remember that gently, gently applying brakes intermittantly will heat them and help to dry them off. Something to rememer if you are doing a long stretch of road, but then know that your exit is coming up. Signal ahead of time, and do your gently intermittant braking, so by the time your're on the exit ramp brakes will be not be wet when you need to stop. I only repeat this because of a scary slide into an intersection once with this very same situation. And Ive had lots and lots of times when I didn't think to dry my brakes, and things were fine. Just a precaution.

Once I was frustrated with my clear sunglasses getting so fogged on the inside in heavy rain, and I remember what divers do, I didn't spit into them but I licked them (just on the inside) and that helped for a few miles.

Rain will make you feel cooler so make sure you have enough layers. And an extra or even third pair of gloves, packed away dryly, will be welcome if your first pair get soaked.

Oh, this is bad news, our son sent an email to dh yesterday, that son discovered $700 missing from his bank account!! He is of course working with his credit union (where he has his account) to investigate. Scary stuff!!

Yes, Mandy, hi! and Gina!! ANd Jill!

I haven't exercised yet, so I better do that. Check in with ya later! ( I have off today)

Well so far just rain but the blizzard is coming late morning, so I am going to hang around my home town today instead of traveling, I don't want to be stuck out of town..... Again me being selfish

Ahh I would say someone has to have something because there is no way with attitude like your bosses that his business should still be afloat????
Which is still probably good for you because then you have a winter job to go to when summer job is over

Tammy I agree a 100% with Holly's suggestion on riding in the rain actually I haven't rode in the rain with my new bike yet and I believe it will be quite different with that little front tire... Just take it easy and the braking is very important especially if coming up to a stop

Holly sorry to hear about son's account you know alot of that is going on right now, I just don't understand some people. A convient store got robbed about 50 miles away by a women and gun point, not my store thank goodness, but nontheless it was a robbery still haven't found the women and she left on foot???

I plan on getting alot of exercise in today since I will be home much of the day. I think I may try the slim fast shakes once I have missed the shot to see if it will jumpstart weightloss for me again. I have one more week so we will see

Holly do you have anything planned for your day off?

Holly, I hate to hear about your son's money. That is horrible. I hope it works out and he gets it returned (if the bank covers stuff like that). $700 is a big chunk to us working folks.

CC, If you drink coffee the cappaccino delight is pretty good . I have not ventured out yet. I did cheat and weigh this AM..... I was down 1 pound. I know it is not a "true pound" but I am glad to get some of my weekend binge off. I am thinking of replacing one meal a day with the slim fast when I am off this 3 day thing. It is not bad and I am going to try to keep my calories at 1200-1300.

Thank you both for the advise. I have only been riding for 2.5 years and never ridden in the pouring rain-- so I appreciate all the advise I can get. I am still in my "break in" period on my Harley so I am having to "feather" the brakes, so I am kinda used to easing on them. We are still planning to ride so keep your fingers crossed.

I am actually looking forward to this trip b/c of the weight loss. I have been to several different places on business including Naples, FL, Houston, TX, Dallas, TX, Washington DC, and I was too fat to enjoy what their cities had to offer. I am from a small town and I don't get to see many sites..... and I was too fat to walk and explore those cities. This time I am going to walk on the waterfront..... and our hotel has a rooftop heated pool. I am going to swim in that pool! I am excited. I am not swimsuit model material, but I am much more fit and much more healthier! I am excited.

I hope everyone else is doing well.

I am going to get back to work.

Tammy

good morning again Just finished doing the Shred, and I might do something else this afternoon.

CChick, that is scary about the store near-by being held by gunpoint! and the person escaped on foot

My son is telling me that the issue was an item, about $140, charged 5 times, from a company in Australia he's never done business with. The credit union thank goodness has said that he will not be liable for the charges. Now though the investigation on how it happened, contact the police to make an official report (because it's over $500, it's a felony) yadda yadda Stuff that he shouldn't have to go through, but has too.

CChick, not much planned today. Oh, I do have to make some cupcakes for a party this Saturday, as it's a biker bikers' party they will be pink boobie cupcakes And I am making the ultimate gesture of making them from scratch, so I do need to buy flour, sugar and butter, and confec. sugar. They will be fun to decorate To save time I should make them today and freeze them. Also need to air out our sleeping bags, we are spending the night at the friend's house so we don't have to drive home.

Ladyrider, congrats at down a pound! I know how psyched you'll be when you get to Onederland And how excited you are at being at major cities and being able to enjoy them.

Holly they sure do sound like really good cupcakes and from scratch Oh ya party well I am sure we will see a new avatar here after the party?? Glad to hear your son will get his money back but ya have to go through all the formalities first.

And yes the lady walked away from the store, I would have at least jumped in my car and followed -of course not to closely since there was a gun involved-- but still hung back a block you could have at least seen where she went ??? I question that as well, but then I am daring that way

Tammy you will have a blast just make sure that you enjoy and don't tense up on the bike to make your shoulders start hurting....
I do not drink coffee so I will probably just buy the double chocolate ones, thanks for the info though. Swimming on rooftop would be so cool, make sure to take some pics and post them when you get back Congrats on the pound lost as well

Well the snow is coming down now, so as long as the wind doesn't pick up like the forecast shows we are in good shape, the snow will melt quickly. However I am sure the wind will pick up this is SD and wind blows all the time

Talk to you later

Mandy, glad you had a good weekend. I think almost everyone has a rough time with eating on the weekends. They blow.

CC, I just found out you can go to the SF website and get coupons off for the first few batches you buy. It adds up to be $20 off if you do it for a month. Not bad. Sorry you are having bad weather. That blows.

I was going to post my new avitar pic after I hit the 199 mark, but I may wait for a "good pic" from N.O. to do that with. We will see.

Holly, have fun with the cupcakes..... they sound like they are a blast!

Talk to you later!

chicks, I was just going back into last year's threads (I wanted to find my groove, when I was perfect on plan!) and I came across this funny funny story, one day that I was riding to work, it was mid-April of last year - ---

I stopped at a gas station to get a water on the way to work yesterday. There was a mom who just pulled in, said "nice day for a ride" to me, and went into the store. Her two kids were car-seated in the back seat; a boy about 8, and a girl maybe 6.

Little girl - "Hi!"

Boy - "Hi!"

Me - hey there! Hi.

Boy - "I like your motorcycle!"

me - thank you!

Little girl - "What's your name?"

me - Holly

Little girl - "What?"

Boy - "I want to get a dirt bike."

me - That would be pretty cool, wouldn't it!

Little girl - "Where are you going?"

me - I'm going to my job now.

Little girl (pointing at bike) "ON THAT?!"

me - Yup! It's alot more fun than my car.

Boy - "You got a CAR too?!?"

me - (Laughing hard now) Yes, I do.

Boy - You're real lucky to have a motorcycle AND a car.

me - Yes, well, when you're a grown-up, you work jobs, and then you can buy fun things. Well, I have to go to work now. Bye guys!

Kids - (waving frantically) BYE!!!
