good evening everyone, things going ok here. Hubby and I rode to a local bike night up the road last night, I haven't ridden in a few weeks so it was nice to get out for a bit. I got a new (new to be) piece of workout equipment yesterday, a punching bag!! I love it, I can't use it for very long but I am sure the stamina will build. I did 2 5 to 10 min sessions and my arms feel like jello...lol

I hope everyone has a great weekend

Mandy, glad you got to get out. Hope you got rid of some stress.
The punching bag sounds really cool. I wanted to get kick boxing lessons (not that it is the same as a punching bag) for my birthday but I found out there were not any classes offered in my area. Let me know if you are sore tomorrow....... And, is it a bag that hangs from the ceiling or is it one that is held by a water/sand thing at the bottom?

Holly, I am so sorry you are sick. I hope you get better quickly.

CC- hope your day was not too bad at work.

its the one on the stand with sand/water in the bottom.I got off someone on Craig's list for 25.00. I am sore but not where I thought I would be, my shoulder blades and the base of my neck are killing me...lol I can feel a little in my arms and legs but its not painful

Holly I hope you are feeling better, when is your last day at work?

Well Hello fellow rider chickies

Wow, Holly that is really close to home, that is just so weird....
Well we decided on this first ride as a whole group or those that were at the meeting and we had I believe it was 32 people present. Our weekly rides I think I will send out an email to all and have them reply then I will pick the one that was sent to me the most and if everyone sends a different place then in a hat they go and we get to have a drawing....

Holly hope you are feeling better today

Mandy that is great that you got to get out and take a ride, and the punching bag those are work and will work you.... My youngest is a boxer and we have the big punching bag and the little jabby one to, I only worked on them when he was in training and that was to help him out more than for me. $25 bucks tghat is way cheap we paid hundreds for his a few years ago. So what a steal you got

So now I need to fess up, I didn't exercise yesterday or today, I just feel lazy and I cannot break it. URGH so instead here I sit on the computer but home alone so I am watching (finally) Saw V noone else watches horror but me so I have to wait till everyone else is busy and gone from home, and tonight is it. Right off the bat it was bloody and gory, my kind of movie

I am excited though our really good friends got approved today for a loan so we get to go shopping tomorrow for them both new motocycles- YAY-
So needless to say tomorrow wil be an off eating day but I will do my best to not go to far overboard.... Having Easter Egg Hunt in the morning for the kids at our Eagles Club, I volunteered to help out, it is so fun watching the kiddies hunt for eggs and finding their prizes and candy inside

Ok well I probably talked enough so have a Great Night!!!

Well, CC: I am with you. I did not exercise much except the small walk I took Jake on..... well, really he took me on. I ate fish and half a burger-- (we split all the food now). I am going tomorrow to have the 1000 mile service on my bike..... of course, I have to go next door to the Side Car Cafe and have the homemade Kettle Chips.....mmmmmm BUT, my plan is to get right back on Monday even though I won the bet. I want the other 20 pounds and I NEVER want to go back to the 200s. I will haveto do some walking tomorrow or something.

Mandy, nothing helps stress like a ride.

Holly, I hate you are still sick.

I will talk to you guys later.

Ohhh Kettle Chips are so good and this is the true say for them "You just can't stop at 1" shoot or 20 for that matter

Easter Egg Hunt went great, now we will be leaving for Sioux Falls in about 20 minutes to shop and go out for lunch, I am thinking we are going to sports bar and nothing healthy there

Wel have a great day talk to you later

Sorry - been AWOL for a few days - hubby is job-hunting at the moment - so I seem to spend every free moment on the PC sending out Resumes and trawling around all the job sites! Stressful time at the moment for me - with hubby's contract being canceled, and my eldest spending a night in jail (he is at Uni overseas) - I'm proud to say I got through this whole horrible week without binging once I did have a glass of wine in a bubble bath on Wednesday, but I guess I could have demolished the entire "snack cupboard" instead lol.

Had an awesome 100 Mi ride yesterday. Ride my Rocker C - Pebbles. A couple of you asked which bike I like the best. I LOVE the Rocker because she is MY bike - ie was chosen by me and bought for me - the rest of the bikes have been more "joint" purchases. The Rocker is a little b!tch to ride tho - she has a looong front rake and a huge 240 rear tire, so she hates going around corners!!! But I forgive her, cos she looks so pretty lol.

I must say for ease of riding and handling, the Fat Boy is awesome - such a low centre of gravity, and the foot boards make it really comfy. For acceleration and braking the V-Rod is great (especially as it has better brakes than the Rocker and the Fat Boy.

I took my first ride on the new 09 V-Max last weekend and was blown away in every regard - comfort, acceleration, braking - plus the attention which the bike attracts. Still running her in, so haven't experienced even a tiny bit of what this machine is capable of.

The KTM RC8 is a sexy superbike - planning on doing a track day as soon as my leathers fit lol....

Anyway I've rambled enough - just really glad that I managed to get through this week without comfort-eating - that's a HUGE acheivement for me - due in large part to getting great support from everyone here.

Ride Safe!

good evening chicks! those were great descriptions of your different rides, Julie

Are your arms now not jello-y feeling, Mandy that's a real workout! My last full day at the ick place is Wednesday!!!!!!!!

CChick, nice that you volunteered for the Easter hunt

Hi Tammy! always funny to hear you speak of your dog taking you for a walk, LOL!

today I finally feel better. Unless I have a setback in the night, I will work out tomorrow. I haven't since MOnday!!argh!! Now I am going to delay taking measurements a week, I was going to on the 16th (cause that would have been 30 days from starting The Shred) but now I'll wait a week.

Oh jeez...when I was washing my bike last week, I noticed cracks in my tires, near the rim. The tread is fine. They're only 1 1/2 years old, I'm not sure how many miles..I know I need new fork seals, and an oil change, so I took it to the mechanic today to get his opinion on the tires. He definitely agreed with me, they don't look safe. We took digital pics and he is going to contact Avon, because the cracking is not normal wear. Maybe they'll pro-rate some $$$ off new tires.

I have to work tomorrow but only from 11:30 to 2:30. Then just back here. I remember years past when I worked in a very nice pastry shop, and would have tons of orders for Easter. It's nice to not have to go through that stress anymore.

have a nice night chicks!

see how old the tire actually is, look at the tire code.

Born on date, and wear's the tread?

Other useful information on the tire's sidewall includes its manufacturing date. Look on the side for a raised block with four digits; it's usually next to the U.S. DOT tire identification number. The first two indicate the week of its manufacture, and the last two are for the year. For example, 1702 would indicate the tire was manufactured in April, 2002. Prior to 2000, there were only three digits, with the last one indicating the year.

Some tires may have raised triangles, or the letters TWI, to show where the tire wear indicators are in the tread. When these marks are equal to the tread, it's time for new tires.

good morning and Happy Easter We have light snow flurries now  but the rest of the week looks GOOD, all sun through Thursday, and temps in the high 40's to low 50's!

Mandy, thank you for that tire info! I've emailed the guy who I got the tires from, to see if he can back up the sale with paperwork, and then we'll go from there.

We will have good riding weather here this week but I left my bike at the mechanic's, so I will be patient. It is a VERY GOOD incentive then for me to do yard work! I hope next week will be good outside weather also. And if it isn't , there are plenty of projects in here for me to do.

okay, the flurries stopped and the sun is shining. But still around 30 degrees. Have a nice day

Holly all I can say is you only 3 more days after today then you are outta there
Hope you are feeling better today

Sorry to hear about tires Holly, good thing you checked them out and took them to your repair man to verify. So new tires will be on your list soon.
Mandy what knowledge you have about tires, I was asking my husband and of course he knew but he does work for a Ford Dealership so probably should know that stuff....

Julie nice descriptions of your rides..... A friend of ours sold his fatboy and bought a Rocker C, he is not sure that he is liking it all that well, he says it feels alot smaller than his fatboy..... I hear ya about the rake, those right hand turns still get me everytime with my chopper.

Well yesterday we took our friends motorcycle shopping and he is buying a Honda Valkyrie, it is yellow very nice, DH had one a few years ago and the one thing he misses about that is all the power it had. She didn't really find one she liked all that great so asked if she could buy my VStar, since we are really good friends I am going to sell it to her that way it will still be around. So after Tuesday we should be down to just 2 motorcycles but one good thing is they are all paid for so that is money in the bank- YAY

Well we went to Valentinos for lunch it is a pizza buffet restaurant, I am sure I ate way to much but back to exercising on Monday, I will probably start level 2 over again since I have been so lazy lately

Well everyone enjoy their Easter

First of all ladies, I hope everyone had a Happy Easter! I know that Captain of the ship and his family are having the best Easter EVER! I am thankful for his life being sparred.

Julie, glad to hear from you again. Sorry to hear your husband is out of work. I hope he gets work soon.

Mandy, wow, I am impressed with the tire thing..... I am sure your husband is proud of you!

Holly, I am glad you are feeling better, don't worry you will get back on the exercise "bus". Look at Mandy, she is boxing the stuff out of stuff AND this is the LAST week for you to work where you are! I bet you can get those 5 pounds off.

CC, the sports bar is a killer to eat from...... but like Holly you will get back with the exercise and get back the way you were.

I have come to the conclusion that I am going to "need" to give up my Sunday AM breakfasts at Cracker Barrel with the bikers for a little bit..... it seems to be triggering an eating frenzy on Sunday's. So, here I am at almost 8 on Sunday night....... I have eaten the whole house and then some...... so I am going back to the Slim Fast tomorrow.

I have got to get..... it is the Rock of Love season Finale....... Talk to you tomorrow.

Hi Chopperchick and everyone else I just did Day 1 of Level 3. I am glad I did it, but yes it was difficult. This was the longest stretch of days missed (6!!!) but I just couldn't before today.

I think what I need to do to bust the end of this cold out is to drink a ton of healthy liquids (water, weak tea)

Hope everyone has a good day!!
