It's a greek dish. I've actually never had it. I didn't make it authentic, it has meat, tomato sauce, and eggplant as the main ingredients.

I'll let you know how it turns out.

Hi Everyone! I threw my back out - ouch! I did not weigh in this morning, because I was in pain and forgot. Will try to weigh in tomorrow.

Moozie - You Go!!!! Nothing like hitting a milestone. Many more to come, I'm sure.

wvuchick - I love mousakka!!!! Yummy. Hope you had an easy time finishing your fast.

Esmi - good luck on your fast too.

Princess - I dream of being a size 8 - Congrats!

Carolr - I agree with pattygirl, I think we have a flexible, easy going group here. We are all actively supporting each other's IF journey.

Pattygirl - Congrats on the 2 lbs. It's nice when we're back to ticker weight after a little bump up.

Have a great evening everyone who's stateside and a great day, for those of you on the other side of the pond (I'm assuming you'll be reading this on Tues am)! I love that!

Hi I am curious about IF, once you reach your goal weight, how do you maintain?? Can you stop the 24 hour fast and just eat less everyday or...? Thanks

Hi Everyone! I weighed in this morning. Up 2lbs from my vacation. Not too bad. There would have been a time when I was up much more.

RoayalAthena - I think that most people that do IF do it as a lifestyle. I'm not at my goal weight, but from what I've read your body drops to it's desired weight and stays there. Most IF people advocate it as a permanent lifestyle because there are so many health benefits beyond weight loss. Of course, it's an individual thing and you may need to play with it to see what happens. I plan to stay with Fast-5 for life, but drop my weekly 24 hour fast, but that's just what I'm thinking for now. Go online at Fast-5 and Eat Stop Eat web pages and you can read much more about Intermittent Fasting.

Welcome! I hope you consider it.

@Moozie huge congrats! Way to go!!

@Italiannie great work on only putting on 2lbs. Being on holiday is very hard on weight loss, I think you did great! That 2lbs will be gone before you know it with IF.

Sorry I am not replying to everyone individually, but I have read all of your posts and everyone seems to be doing great

I have been getting back on track this week, I did a 16 hour fast yesterday and a 19 hour today. I broke my fast on a pastrami salad sandwich on granary bread, some baked crisps and an eat natural bar. Tonights tea after the gym is oven baked chicken leg, homemade wedges and either salad or veg.
I am also quitting smoking this week so am finding it hard not to pick at food in the evenings. Luckily there is nothing in the house to pick at really so I can hopefully avoid doing too much damage!

Moozie - Great job on the loss and getting to Onederland!

Patty - my first major goal is to get to Onederland too. We are very close.

Italiannie - I hope you feel better soon. My first attempt at Moussaka was just ok, but not bad for my first time. I did have an easy time with my fast, thank you. And don't worry about the gain, it will be gone in a week with IF!

Royal Athena - I do ESE which is fasting for 24 hours, I do 2 days a week. I am hoping when I get to maintenance, I will just fast one day a week, although I really enjoy fasting so maybe I'll still do two and just eat more when not fasting.

Rosey - good luck with the smoking. You are going to feel so much better.

well I officially weighed in this morning. I lost 3.6 lbs this week. The .7 I gained on vacay and another 2.9. I'm pretty happy about that!!!!

Hope everyone has a great day!

RoyalAthena - I am new to IF althought when I heard about it and researched it I realized that when left alone that this is the way I "naturally" eat. I am presently doing a daily 16 hr fast with an 8 hr eating window. I would advise like some of the others do that it is important to research the different ways of IF and find the one that you can make a lifestyle for you. Some do it with calorie counting, low carbing and I do it with WW counting points. And then some do it without counting anything. I hope to get to that point so I can combine it with Intuitive Eating (IE) because what I love about IE & IF is that I don't have to think about food all the time and the benefits are absolutely a big plus especially at my age. However I know me well enough to know I can't trust me to do that as of yet. Good luck on your journey whatever you decide.

wvuchick - Congretulations on the 3.6 lbs gone and for getting closer to that great Onderland.

Rosey85 - Good for you getting back OP and for giving up the smoking. Good luck and try to remember how good you will feel as I know doing both at the same time isn't always easy. I like the fact that you plan your meals ahead of time. I'm doing that right now too. I do it because I want to know how things affect my blood sugar.

Italiannie - I'm contemplating the Fast-5 eventually, but think I have to ease into it if I can ever do it. There was a time when I was doing Carbohydrate Addict's Diet when I could get by with only one meal a day, so I think a 5 hr window would be great, just have to get my mind around it. I'm sure that 2 lb gain is only a temporary thing and will be gone very soon. Hope your back is feeling better today.

Well, I messed up last night. I was getting ready for bed when DH came in and said that DSIL is off work today. Hubby's DD, her hubby and 4 kids live with us. When he is off work, I don't have to get up so early as he takes care of the almost 2 yr old DGS and gets the kids and wife off to school. I stayed up with DH watching tv and ended up eating a snack outside of my eating window so my fasting time this week is going to be shorter today. But I WILL be back on my 8/16 plan today!!!

Question??? Has anyone else found that on IF when you eat more than you planned or should have or when you eat past your "window" that it causes the fasting time to be a little bit of a struggle because you feel hungry sooner? Haven't experienced it so far, but did experience it Sunday when we went out to eat and I ended up eating earlier so had to stop my 8 hrs earlier. I got hungry sooner Monday.

Hope one day to get to a size 8 or 6. I'd be happy to stop there. Seem a little more attainable now.

thank you! I am truly happy myself.

But how to explain it? I am tiny (short and thin bones). And the size 8 is huge. I think I need to be size 4 to look not over-weighted.

O that sounds yummy wvuchick! and way to go on your big loss..whoohoo!

Congratulations Moozie on getting under 200lbs and losing 12 lbs thats so great.

Italiannie Im so sorry you hurt your back. I hope you feel better soon. And not bad on your back from vacation weight, in no time you will take that off.

Welcome RoyalAthena, I wish I was at my goal weight so I could tell you what I did to maintain but hopefully soon I will know. I do a combo of fast 5 most days and add in ese once or twice a week and Im hoping to just keep doing that once Im at goal weight, probably more of Fast 5 once Im there, we'll see
It looks like you have lost a lot of weight already, congrats.
How did you lose all that weight?

Pattygirl63, Ive also had days where instead of sticking to a 5hr window I go 5 and a half or 6 and then get back on a 24hr fast, something like that,,and there are some days but not all the time where I feel hungrier earlier..Like for instance, getting back on my IF eating after vacation yesterday I did feel the hunger.
I have been reading the IF forum and its very interesting but I dont know too much about it. Could you give me some more info, thanx

Rosey85 good luck on quitting smoking, thats so great.

I just read this forum and the IF under Support groups. And then I googled everything I could find about IF, Step Fast Step and anything else I could find and read it. I really don't know much more than what I've read on line and here on 3fc.
