I wasn't sure how this day was going to work out since DH had to have an endoscopy. Girl in doc's office had told me it would take 4 hrs and we had to be there at 11:30 so I wasn't sure how I would handle eating. I got took boiled eggs and veggies, water and tea with me. Turned out to take only 2 hours but still didn't get around to eating until 3:30. I ended up with a 17 hour fast and 5 hour eating window. It seems to be easy for me to do the 17/5 so I think I will continue using it. My FBS is good doing this, but I do need to clean up my eating and eat healthier.

Catch y'all tomorrow.

Hi all I am getting ready to do another 24 hour tomorrow. I am trying to get back on track with the 16/8 as well. I have been doing okay but I know my weight loss is better when I stick to exercising and low carb. I am getting back on track this week.

MellyMe I am glad you are feeling better.

Esmi Happy Birthday!

Thistoo I'm sure you will make it. You can do it.

Sum38 I know the feeling of too much gluten. I hope you feel better after your fast.

To those I missed good luck on your fasts.

I had a pretty bad night Saturday, so I decided to try doing a 19/5 fast yesterday and today. I'm still adjusting, but I think it could be something that I can do for a long time, mixing it with ESE - as long as I get to tweak the eating window here and there to accommodate life .

I will do a 24hr fast tomorrow. Mizzthingaling we can do this!

I fasted the full 24 hours but then my choice of dinner was poor. Nachos

Now the fun begins; Ovulation is here and scale jumped to 150, dutifully. I can feel my cravings starting as well. -- This month will be my "test" month what comes to IF. I am doing 19 fast with 5 hour eating window today. I made a meal plan, and I am hoping to stick to it. Getting old sucks , and the hormonal fluctuations are just the worst. Next two weeks will be trying times for me.... I would like to sail thru PMS period under 150 pounds... If I manage to stay below 150 I will consider it as a victory -- Someone please come and tape my mouth shut for 19 hours at a time

Happy belated birthday esmi!

Glad to see everyone is doing well with their fasts.

I didn't do so well this week. Had a gain of .3 lbs. Not at all happy, but I was not good at all on Saturday so I plan to be a good girl this week and hopefully make up for it.

Have a great day today everyone.

Indeed it does.

My weight has been so weird this week; I feel a little like a yoyo. So far it's gone 200.8, 202.2, 200.6, 201.8. I'm hoping I follow the pattern tomorrow and hit at least 200.4 for my 'official' weigh-in, but time will tell. Tomorrow is also a fast day, so if it's not down Wednesday morning it likely will be on Thursday.

I'm working on bracing myself to see a number that starts with '1' and then bounce back up into the 200s again. You'd think I'd be used to all this bouncing around by now, but the psychology of onederland really messes with my head.

Hi everyone,

I've just started IF and this thread seems really active, so do you mind if I jump in? My weight is currently in the normal range but I've struggled with binging and overeating all my life. I feel like IF might be helpful.

1 oz feta cheese
1/2 avocado

around 500 calories

snack
gala apple with 1 table spoon of melted peanut butter drizzled over and some almond slivers

welcome noobies.

Started another 24 hour fast last night. Only 24 hours since I ended my last one, but that is just what works for me this week.

esmi134 I hope your fast is going well today!!

I unfortunately broke my 24hr fast at the 16th hour. Unlike last week, today I just didn't have the mental preparation. So I ended up doing a 16/8 sort of thing today, and I want to re-do tomorrow for my 24hr fast. I think my problem was yesterday I didn't feel "satisfied" with my dinner, so all day today I felt deprived.

Question - when do you find is the best time to do a 24 hour fast? Like on a weekend, at work during the week..on a day where you don't work out?

I've done one on the weekend and 2 on days I work 5-9. I'm not feeling any loss of energy though. Not even any hungrier than I am on lots of days when I'm counting calories.
