Had a great fast yesterday. I don't think I even got hungry during the day. Wasn't until I got home that I even wanted to eat. And it paid off, I'm down 1.8 lbs this week so far, my official weigh in isn't until Tuesday. Now if I can just not screw it up this weekend.
Have a great Friday everyone! Been one long work week for me, will be glad when it is over!
Good job on your fast yesterday wvuchick and your weight loss!!
I ended up doing a 19/5 yesterday, ate 3 times (but I made a choice to eat everything I did and didnt feel bad about it afterwards)..i was full..today i am shooting for a 24hr fast.
I also ended up doing Zumba 2 times this week, normally I dont work out and have just been focusing on my eating.
I really want to have a successful IF weekend, whichever way it goes..
Good luck to everyone
What type of IF are you doing? ESE How long have you been doing it? 12/7/11 Are you trying to get cut or lose weight? Lose weight If lose weight, how much have you lost? 23 lbs. And for fun, where are you from? Sugar Land, TX
Great job wvuchick! I am sure you will continue to make great choices this weekend, and lose even more by your official weigh-in!
I'm a bit frustrated this morning because though I ended my 24 hr fast yesterday and felt like I made good choices for the meals I ate after, I haven't lost a single pound today. I'm not discouraged, but it would be nice to see some manifestation of my efforts on that scale...
So last night I was doing well. I ate from 10am-4pm and then around 8pm I started having bad stomach pains and my body was craving carbs so I ate a handful of pretzels. Next morning I weigh a pound less. Not complaining at all.
Hi everyone -- well my family left and after about 10 fun-filled days of visiting and eating, I was only up 1lb .... I am extremely pleased because typically after 10 days of visiting, going out to eat almost daily, snacking etc I could have easily packed on 5 or more lbs (yikes). I tried to keep up with my Fast-5 but some days were better than others. Then I had my period at the same time and ugh, water retention and cravings etc. So *only* a 1lb gain is a victory to me.
I was a bit worried I'd have trouble getting back in the swing of things but I caught a nasty chest cold the day my family left so I had absolutely no desire to eat whatsoever. I guess that is the silver lining to the illness lol So, I've been basically fasting for 3 days straight, having a window in the evenings to try to get in at least 800-1000 calories of healthy food. Typically I would never go that low in calories for the day at my size but like I said I have had ZERO desire to eat with this upper respiratory infection!
I'm on the mend now thank God, so tomorrow is weigh in. Hopefully I will have lost that pesky pound and another or two along with it.
Now that things have settled down I'm hoping to be more active again in the group

Reason: To clarify :)
Hi Everyone!
35x35 - A one pound vacation gain is a huge victory.
wvuchick - Ditto what everyone else is saying! Congrats on the 1.8!
Auquatears - IF is often two steps forward, one step back. Stick with the process and the results will come.
Vanity9 - Way to go on the 1 lb.
Esmi - Good luck on your fast.
High Five to Everyone Else!!!!!
I took off my 2lb vacation gain. Slow going, but in the right direction. I find if I lay back a bit on the carbs and keep with my schedule, I can expect a pound or so per week - of course slight vacation gain and taking that off made me lose about 3 weeks, but that's life.
I start my weekly 24 hour fast tonight.
What type of IF are you doing? I do Fast-5, usually with one 24 fast per week
How long have you been doing it? 12/13/11
Are you trying to get cut or lose weight? Lose weight
If lose weight, how much have you lost? 14 lbs
And for fun, where are you from? Upstate NY - Albany area
Sum - IF definitely gets easier (fuller faster, food tastes better, feeling of hunger replaced by feeling of "lightness"). Great job on all of your walking. Nothing like fresh air and healthy eating to make a person feel good.
I was thinking today....
With IF, I generally feel like I've had a successful day, even if I've eaten something that wouldn't traditionally be considered "on plan." It just works for me. I do focus on healthy choices, and not over eating, and that is all I need to do to be successful - other than maintain my eating windows.
On a more traditional plan, my weight loss would have been quicker, but I rarely last more than three weeks and I probably would be back where I started by now.
I spent years waking up in the morning on a diet and go to bed at night a failure - years. So bad for the spirit. It's amazing how we can punish ourselves. It's no way to live.
I'm so much happier this way.
Is anyone else feeling more successful with IF, even if the loss isn't quick?
Italiannie I agree. I am happier on IP. It was the only thing that broke my plateau. I actually lose about the same as I was on other plans. If I stick to low carb/paleo during my eating window I can do a pound every 1-2 days. Exercising during my fast helps as well.
People have been noticing my losses. That is fun but I a still trying to be good during my window. I am thinking of doing the 5hr window until next month. I have a business event and I would love to look nice in picture.
Mizz - I know there are several versions of paleo out there. Do you omit potatoes, legumes and things like that? How often, or do you eat fruits? I think I may need to tweak my choices a bit.
Holy mackarel I am down over 4lbs!! I am so incredibly pleased. Yay for IF! I've always been a believer in calorie cycling as well, but coupling that with something like Fast 5 and the occasional 24 hour fast is really working for me.
Italiannie - I completely agree about the way we punish ourselves. I did the same thing, especially on the eat-every-3-hours type diets. I would feel like a failure for overeating. When I did a version of Fast-5 (before knowing what it was) I felt like a failure for eating "wrong" because I was "supposed" to be eating every 3 hours. It's so dumb. I'm happy where I am and with what I'm doing now. IF is so flexible to me
