Those are a definite NO.

Not enough protein to count as a "packet" food replacement (should be at least 12g protein per serving), and does NOT meet the 0/0/0 rule to count as an extra.

Hi all sofar so good on day 1 of IP Protocol using WS products. I as wondering how many pickels /what kind can I eat if I am hungry because I do not eat lettuce. Also do not have WF salad dressing but I have Wishbone Salad Spritzer Dressing is that OK? Also, is Crystal Light Allowed or is just Lime and Lemom in the water?

Thanks so much , 7 weeks and 5 days to go .,..lol

This is one of my favorites- I think it's really good and it travels nicely (no need for a shaker, just a water bottle). The orange flavor is okay but not as good, and I thought the lemon was horrific- and I usually love lemon. My husband didn't mind it, but I could barely choke it down.

I agree - the grape is the best flavor I have found! Rainbow made it into jello, so I am going to try that tonight!

I'm not familiar with Wishbone Salad Spritzer Dressing. Is it 0 carb/0 fats/0 sugar? That's what the WF dressings are, and why they're allowed.

As to Crystal Light, I think I remember that it's 0carb/fat/sugar, but can't remember whether or not it has aspartame? Most IP coaches recommend we not use products that contain aspartame, as it causes many people to have cravings.

I wasn't aware that tomatoes were ok in small qtys...that is good as I have missed them in Salads. I don't think I will eat a cup at a time...rather use them as a small addition to the salad. The more stuff in the salad the better it tends to be!

I just placed my Nashua order Sunday night. I have phased out all the IP products I had stashed with my last order from Nashua. As of the end of the week, I'll be 100% alternative. I'm excited about the new things I have coming in to try, based on the Alternative Reviews thread..priceless information there, thanks to all who contributed. In my order, I saw a product I had not seen before, Parisien Toast..link attached. 10 carbs, 5 fiber..making it unrestricted and 15g protein. I'm looking forward to trying it. Has anyone else tried it or see anything in the info that would cause it to be not allowed?

i didn't order them again....as an open bag just about insures an eaten bag!! hahaha

I'll be curious to hear what you think. Sounds tasty with some puréed veggie soup!

I'll second Rainbow - the toast is good (although it's a little dry). I've used it for egg salad and with tuna. You could use it with soup or make bruschetta with it.

Pickles (according to the Protocol sheet) should be measured like veggies and counted in your daily veggies. I know that some coaches say that pickles can be unlimited but that is not in line with the protocol as written. Lettuce is the only thing that is "truly" unlimited. You can also have 2 egg whites every day as a "freebie" because nutritionally that amount meets the 0/0/0 rule.

I looked up the nutritional information on the Wishbone spritzers, all 3 of the flavors have small amounts of fat, carbs and sugars so those would not be recommended. You can actually make some good homemade vinagrettes using your daily oil requirement, seasonings and a little lemon or lime juice.

Crystal light has aspartame which isn't recommended, but in the beginning my coach was OK with us using it in moderation in order to help us make sure we got in all our water. I started out using it, then would use 1/2 the amount in my bottled water, then eventually cut it out completely. If you can find Mio water flavoring, that one uses a different sweetener and is a little better.

Personally I wouldn’t worry about the Wishbone spritzers, but that’s me.* I am a rebel.* And I really dislike the WF dressings.* Lime juice is good though and OP.* That and your EVOO and you’ve got a tasty salad!* And chemical free!
*
I have so much of that grape drink and I don’t care for it.* But your posts reminded me that I wanted to try it diluted in 32 oz. of water, and this morning I drank that during my workout, and I enjoyed it that way.* Thanks for the reminder!* *

I have used alternatives while I was all the Phases - along with the Ideal Protein products - as to use he IP products all the time was very costly. I am a petite women and a senior (age 70) and lost 2 pounds a week - I reached my goal and am currently on Phase 4 (Maintenance) and I still on occasion use the alternative products - especially the protein drink before bed. I have had no problems whatsoever - and lost the two pounds a week supplementing the IP products with the alternatives suggested on this site.

Thanks rainbow and losinglawyer for your input on the toast. It comes tomorrow, and will be the first thing I open. I'll take a look and decide what to do with it..half the bag, not the whole bag. I'll have to keep reminding myself, lol.
