Tuscany - thanks and you are doing great LovelyLeah - congrats on your wedding. You look beautiful in your wedding dress. So sorry to hear about the hives.
Trixie: I haven't tried to jumpstart a new program. I am eating too much. I eat whole foods, no fast food at all--haven't had it in yrs. I cook alot, but I eat too many cals & I can't out-exercise too many cals. I think I'm still in the mindset that I am lifting enough to support the cals I'm eating, but I reverted back to lifting body weight on squats and lunges and 55lbs on the bench. 1700-2000 cals doesn't support this. I'll get disciplined when I can get outdoors and have to wear running skirts and cry b/c I look wretched in them!
At least you're eating healthy foods! I'm sorry if you feel frustrated by the calorie situation, right now. I felt frustrated by myself in a similar predicament a while back, when I was training for my last half marathon. I gained weight. It shocked me unpleasantly. I knew that I was running a ton and thought that I should lose weight, but I found that my calories were above what I was burning. Anyway, you'll get it all sorted out in good time.
I think I need to grease the scales…they seem to be stuck!

K9Owner: If you’re able to lift weights properly and regularly, then you will look fantastic when you ultimately do lose weight…lean and muscular! Have you tried reducing your calories over the entire day but eating a high protein meal right before your workout to give you some extra energy? As for flooding, I hope your house is water free. Having dealt with a flooded basement last year, I know that water issues are horrible to deal with.
TooManyDimples: I share your pain. Your scales are stuck like mine.
Leah: Glad to hear you continue to lose weight despite the prednisone. That is odd, but I wouldn’t complain either.
flower: You’re almost at goal…way to go!
TrixieCat: Oh, how I wish I could run a marathon, but those days are long behind me.
Thanks everyone with the tips/encouragement with calorie cycling. I think it works and I was actually doing it without knowing it back in June when I started losing. Only recently when I started counting calories did I stop doing it....I thought I had to be low every day.

Nici I feel your pain! Hang in there......lemon water works wonders. I eat some good fat/protein in small amounts when I get weird out-of-control hunger flashes....nuts or cheese. It keeps me in control.
Merowi I joined mid-March too. No worries, we aren't strict here. The more the merrier!

I'm not really tracking my food but I am switching to healthier options to bulk out my meals. Like this week strawberries were on sale (plus, since my husband works for Target we get 30% of produce) so I've been putting a ton of strawberries in my yogurt and packing them as my "sweet" snack. I sauteed a bunch of peppers and onions fajita-style and I've been adding them into other dishes to bulk them out. I'm also eating based on my activity level for the day. Yesterday was my day off and I sat and crafted all day; I didn't even make it to a 1,000 steps. So didn't eat much because I wasn't hungry and my body didn't need much fuel. Today I'll eat a lot more because I work and I routinely do 13k-15k steps while I'm there. So far this seems to be working.
