mmmm, green peppers are great! Love them raw too. I was looking into cutting them out (and other 'night shade' vegetables) because the nightshade family are associated with join pain which bugs me a lot, especially around the time I started eating tonnes of green peppers. Well, I ate one for the first time the other day and it gave me a terrible stomach ache. Boo! Not exactly a controlled experiment but I have gone off them a bit now

AnaBee, that sucks! I didn't know that about nightshade vegetables.

I'm 193.8 today 3 lbs lost since I started Atkins! I love this diet so much!

You are doing great, Stephanie! It's very inspiring. I was down to 181.6 this morning, down from Sunday's (and the past year) high of 184.6. So I feel more positive.

Yeah, sucks about those veggies! My mum has always avoided tomatoes because of her arthritis. She really notices the difference. It's one of those things I plan to trial properly but can't quite bring myself to commit to 100%. Seems like there's already so many things I don't eat

You guys are doing great .. But oh AnaBee ugh on peppers - I actually would be afraid to give up tomatoes and peppers because I'm afraid I would feel better and I love them so lol

Has anyone made MIM's ... I've been looking at recipes - if they are any good it would be a great way to add more fiber (AnaBee stay far away if it will effect your tummy)

I also have to lay out my supplements for the week I didn't do it while I was sick and I can feel a difference ... Tomorrows project....

Guys, I am so excited about all the new people in our part of the forum lately! Not that I don't like you guys I'm on a lot while I feed or rock my daughter and I like how busy it's been.

I tend to do this though, I get really into something and spend my spare time on a forum relating to it. Like the paranormal forum, BlackBerry forum, pregnancy forum, 3FC when I'm losing weight... haha.

I'm starting to exercise more. I can't wait for the snow to go away so I can get active. I lifted weights today and did the plank. I'm not as strong as I used to be :S

Rho, I"m back on the MIMs. My tummy got used to them and I've found they make an awesome "I got home really late and am too tired to cook" meal. Or breakfast. It probably helps that I found a different brand of ground flax that doesn't taste quite as good. It makes them slightly less "moreish".

They are so easy and you can't really go wrong. I use all different amounts of flax (1/4 cup, half cup, sometimes I measure in grams), one egg, 1-2 sachets of splenda (depending if I'm going more for sweet or for bread), cinnamon and baking powder. If the egg doesn't make it moist enough, I add water and or some coconut oil. Then I microwave for 1 min 20secs, but sometimes I do another 20 -30 seconds if it's still too wet-looking. The stop/start doesn't seem to harm it.

Stephanie, I agree, busy is good! And I do the same, I post all over the place on different topics :-)

Whoo hoo! 193.0 today! Have I mentioned that I love Atkins? Haha

Still on plan, no cheating I lifted some weights yesterday which felt good, gonna do that more today. I might have to dig out my weight lifting books from last year, maybe do New Rules of Lifting for Women again.

Hope everyone is doing well as well I've never tried the MIM's, might have to if it's an easy quick thing. It'd be nice to have some more options.

Edit to add: The scale actually said 192.8, but I didn't believe it so I got on it like three more times and then it kept saying 193.0 so I'm going with that

I liked the MIM I also like the added fiber and flax at that it was a nice treat last night - like a dessert. I found a bunch of variations on the original recipe that will be fun to try over time.

I swear sometimes my body goes into lockdown as the end of a challenge comes along - I will lose in ounces I bet...

Finally starting to feel really better - now I can start adding up my steps again - and next week I start back at the Rec. Center on the track. And I can start getting back to my cleaning/organizing little by little... I do the Flylady method but not exactly (I can't follow anything exactly it seems) and it is helping yay!

This is the year of changes for me all done in tiny steps ...

191.6! I thought I'd have a gain or not lose very much today because I was weight lifting yesterday (water retention) and because I was on the higher end of carbs and calories (19.5 net carbs, always under 20 but I got close to going over!).

I'm feeling so good about myself Now if only my daughter wasn't being so fussy lately, I could start 30 Day Shred again. I think it's the 6th week growth spurt since she will be six weeks tomorrow.

Hope everyone else is doing well!

Just got caught up. it's great to read along on Our Low Carb Adventure and Welcome to Bucka!

I've taken off all but two pounds of the weight I gained during the last stint staying at the hospital with Gramps . . . he's still in there and we will be going back over my 3 day weekend so trying to get my "mind right" before the trip. The poor dear is really failing and it's just hard seeing my DH dealing with the inevitable loss of his Dad.

Haven't got back on Induction but for the most part back on track . . . think the weight is coming off due the grueling schedule (12 and 14 hours I've been on) with so much walkingwalking . . . trying to look on the bright side lol.

So glad you're better rho and love reading the recipe and food ideas steph and anaB . . . cya all in the Wee . . . off to add my Mr. Sneaky's

aud, I'm sorry to hear about your FIL. Sticking to plan is never easy when there are stresses like that going on in your life. It's nice of you to be there for your husband though.

I'm thinking of having a little cheat tonight... well kind of a cheat. I know no alcohol is allowed on induction but last time after a week of being on induction I was able to have rye and diet coke without stalling or gaining once in awhile. Since I've been good I'm thinking of having a drink or two tonight since it's my weekend. (Well my husbands weekend, so he's doing the night time feedings tonight!)

Anyone else drink on induction?

Hey all! TGIF, it's been quite a week! I'm about to have lunch (tuna & salad)

Aud, I'm sorry about your DH and FIL. That must be really tough. I'm glad you're still on track.

Gotta love flylady rho. I'm trying to keep my sink shined.

Rye and diet coke sounds like a good choice if you want to drink. I don't think that's any carbs?

I have been trying to give up dairy for ages and I finally feel comfortable trying. I'm going to keep it simple, make each meal approx 4 ounces meat (or 2 eggs), induction veges with lunch and dinner and fat to make up the calories. I had two fried eggs this morning with some butter and that's kept me going from 6am to now (1.30pm) with just 3 macadamia nuts mid morning. Hopefully I'll be back in ketosis soon, I checked and I haven't been since my stupid eating last week.

AnaBee, that's the sucky thing about cheating on Atkins. If you cheat once, sometimes your derailed for a week or so.

I think Atkins has made me a light weight. Normally I can have a few doubles and then I get tipsy, I had one and I feel super tipsy! At least it will be better for me in the long run. The way I understand it is you are supposed to avoid alcohol on induction because your body will burn that before it burns fat so you lose slower.

I've been good with my carbs and calories today so hopefully it doesn't do too much damage!

I've "done Atkins" super successfully 3X's (is that an oxymoron here at 243lbs lol) . . . lost huge amounts of weight and felt great. All 3X's I drank alcohol . . . even in induction and din't stall. (low carb beer) Not much of a drinker anymore, but like with most things just would try and see?

When I was about 45 (I'm 51) had to give up green peppers And I loved them so . . . fresh, stuffed, steamed - however. I started getting the worst heartburn evAH . . . even now if theres even a tiny bit of one mixed in something I suffer.

Weird.

Haven't exactly been back on track anaB, but getting there. Today was a "clean eating day" (night) so hopeful I can make challenge goal by Wednesday. It really is great to come here and be motivated by all of you and the challenge.

It is nice having everyone to talk to

191.2 today, I still lost but not as much. I guess the alcohol might be to blame? haha. Just something to keep in mind. I'm logging everything so I can look back and see what effected my weight.

Husbands home today, so I made bacon and eggs for breakfast! It was yummy
