Biggest hurdle: Overcoming my bad habits and emotional eating. I have just this week realized I don't even like the crappy food I eat as much as I like healthy food. But I have such a habit of stuffing my emotions and filling in my stress with bad food that I just need to find better coping behaviors.
What's different: One of my biggest things was joining here. I know that was what was missing in my first weight loss journey. This is a perfect way for me to get that support, because I don't feel comfortable talking about my issues face to face, and I like that this board is available 24/7.
Anything else: When I was in good shape I loved to run, so my goal is to run a marathon, with my ultimate goal being to do a triathalon. I'm also trying to learn Spanish and preparing for graduate school. I would someday like to travel with either doctors without borders or cross cultural solutions to underserved nations. I love kids!! If I'm not married in a few years I will begin adoption proceedings to adopt a baby from Guatemala. Look forward to getting to know you girls!!

What is different this time in your weight loss efforts than in the past: I am trying to make life-long changes, not just lose weight then return to my normal habits. This time, i am easing myself into a healthier lifestyle. I found that if I jumped in headfirst, it became very overwhelming and I'd quit, and then eat more b/c of feelign guilty.

What is different this time in your weight loss efforts than in the past: I'm actually trying to lose it a healthy way. No more eating almost nothing for an entire day. No more exercising without eating right or eating right without exercising. Also, I'm actually leaving behind my feelings of denial that I once had.

What is different this time in your weight loss efforts than in the past: I have never really tried dieting in the past, wasn't really that serious. I was 7 months pregnant when my husband and I met and the more kids I had the more post baby weight I gained. I am miserable, no energy, depressed and I have no like for sex anymore and it does weigh on a marriage, my poor husband. I have PTLS, Post Tubal Ligation Syndrome, I really don't know if this has to do with anything, but I have been told it does contribute to weight gain and helps to make you unenergetic. I think it's just something to use as an excuse though. I refuse to use it.

Starting Date of Weightloss Journey: The first "start" was about 3 years ago, I was at an all time high of 226 pounds....I got down to 165 but then gained it back. I started again June 2004, lost some then just couldn't keep it off, I wasn't giving it my all. I started trying again but not as much as I could have still and by this June was at about 200 pounds. I fluctuated so much. Today I am more dedicated than ever and will not stop. I refuse to be lazy. I'm currently 1 pound under my lowest weight loss as an adult. . So I'm really excited and can't wait to break through to the 150's...last time I saw those was when I was 17, before I was ever pregnant.

Biggest hurdle to overcome in weightloss: Having tempting foods around since I do have 3 kids and they love their snacks! Emotional eating, eating out of plain ole boredom.
Following any specific plan: My "own" diet. Portion control. No fried foods, no fast food, very, very little junk or candy-only as an occasional treat. Just eating healthier foods, lots more fruits and veggies and tons of water. Still can't give up my Mountain Dew--which I know in itself would kick this weightloss up, but I LOVE my DEW.
What is different this time in your weight loss efforts than in the past: I just basically chewed myself out and said look, you're not lazy. Never have been and you aren't going to be lazy about this. It was just a concious choice to get up off my butt and exercise. I watch Oprah, Dr.Phil...alot of those shows on weight loss added to my "want" to do it more. And I am tired of seeing chicks lookin good walking through the mall and here I am carrying excess weight because of my own actions and inactions.
