OH GLORIOUS DAY!!!

I woke up, peed, took my clothes off, stepped on the scale...and saw a number I haven't seen in more than 2 years...I'M IN THE 160s, BABY! Okay, okay, it was 169.8 and not a number I'm likely to see at the center for several days (since I don't strip down there), but I am ecstatic.

bighog-160's...oh, I can't wait! I'm 172.6 this morning...pretty much where I've been at the lowest weight in my life...I saw 169 one day just before getting pregnant with my first. So when I hit 169...oh man, party that day Not a food party mind you...diet rite with an HNS is more my style these days Congrats on making it there!

Thanks, Jen and Patzi for the encouragement. Yes, it was a feeling of accomplishment to not cheat on Thanksgiving.

Lisa--thanks for posting the stabilization menu. I wondered what it would look like when I got to that point.

Those of you on stabilization and maintenance give me hope!

Well I am new to the forum and have used this website/blog to get additional information about stuff to try and what other people are saying about it. I have been on the program for about 4 weeks, so far about 8 lbs down and several more to go. The weight is not what bothers me, since weight can be deceiving. I am having a hard time useing the drinks so I purchase a whey protein and it put in Crystal light, sugar free Koolaid, ect. I am welcome other other ideas as well.

The dreaded weigh in after holiday and being off for 7 days - and i lost .5 lb! i was so happy because i had prob. gained 3 lbs and lost that before weigh in!! and that's after drinking water this am during sales meeting and then popping in for weigh in. she did my body composition too and i've lost more fat and it did show water weight. i asked for a copy of the weigh in ticket that shows results and realized they have me at 5'7" (i'm 5'8") and on the ticket said goal wt was 147 which it's actually 163. actually i'm very comfortable at 168 - i'm pretty dang happy with what i lost too! The Size 0 counselor couldn't figure out why i was so happy maybe because she's a Size 0. just saying. :-)
some things i realized thanks to now using the online journal at LIVESTRONG.COM (thank you Teacherlady!!!) it calculates percentages of protein, carbs and fat. (for MRC - heard from two sources) the plan is 60% protein, 20% carb, 20% fat. so what i realized is when i deviate from the Plan, i don't lose and now i can tell which of the foods are putting me over (especially for carbs). The protein bars are higher carb and i need to stick to the HNSs and just one creamy (not a creamy and bar ! like i sometimes do - jacked the carbs up) the lite wheat bread is lower carb compared to the oatmeal, etc. So i'm still learning. and good to see which protein powders may have higher carb, sodium, etc.
Another thing i did was look back at the weeks that i had a successful weight loss so now realized i forgot about cottage cheese and strawberries for lunch, things like that....
Will have to say, the Syntrax Chocolate Truffle is a terrific food find! (thanks, Rocki) and is good hot too. just stir w/ fork so it's not clumpy.
Sorry for the book but had a lot to say! ok have to jump on my bike!

Giggles...
From experience, I would bring up tot he Center you are having a problem with drinks vs. you trying to substute something on the diet. They will help you make a substitution if need be or arrange your diet so that it fits your needs. At the beginning, I could not take any of the powdered drinks, and that is what I bought. I would be so sick after digesting them, and the center told me to try the gel as that did not have the same type of artificial sugar in it that I was allergic to.

Hope this helps. Congrats on your weight loss. That is a decent weight loss for the weeks you mentioned..

Wishing you the best on your new challenge.

Big Dog...

I can't find the message, but please tell me what was said about the quick reply. Can we use it or not? I know it was mentioned, but don't recall.

Thanks

I am told that when you eat a high salty meal, it shows up on the scale right away...if it is a high carb/fatty meal, it takes a couple of days to show up...and it will show up as a gain. The days in between that you have been OP will help bring the weight back down quickly, so try not to get too discouraged.

Yes. Use Post Reply. However, if you want to respond to another post and have already hit enter, use the EDIT function at the bottom of your post and add the information. This thread is becoming unwieldy with post after post. (See your last two posts which could have been one.)

I was down 1lb today at my WI and am VERY happy with that Between Thanksgiving, a wedding, and birthdays, I am beyond thrilled!!! My goal was to maintain...

I am 5 lbs away from signing that 50lb board, and that is when I will start stabilization, if not a little before since I could still lose on Stabilization I am told. I can't believe I am so close!!

Anyways...wanted to share! Thanks to you all for continued support on this board...it is awesome

Great news, Tamikl! Your hard work has paid off!

I made MRC's BBQ Chicken sandwich recipe. It was okay. I also made...gah...I forgot what they're called. They're supposed to be mock mashed potatoes made with cauliflower. It was too watery and bland. South Beach diet has a really good recipe, but I'm not sure if it's MRC-friendly. I'll have to dig it up.

I just looked it up...it has an ounce of half & half to 4 cups of cauliflower. That seems pretty minute.

Also, I am craving coffee in the afternoons SO bad! We have a Keurig but no decaf K cups. That is on my must purchase list.

I'm also starting to think about exercise. When I went to WI yesterday, the counselor asked about my plans because she said it's a huge part of maintenance. I love running, just not on the treadmill (which I do own) and not out in the cold (so like now-March.) I have some really good Beach Body programs...I think I am going to start with Insanity after Christmas. I'll probably die, lol.
