Well, I started shopping for summer clothes yesterday. It was utterly overwhelming and frustrating--but for good reasons!

In the past, I either went shopping on a mission (needing a couple specific items, so it was easy to ignore eveyrthing else around me), or I was always relegated to one section (plus sizes!) because of my weight. Yesterday, because I'm a size 16 now, I could bounce between plus and misses. Not such a big deal, until I went into Younkers, which has about 10 different areas for Misses alone, and I only had general things in mind (nice t-shirts, etc.). SENSORY OVERLOAD! I was exhausted. I bought a couple things at JCPenneys, then got too overwhelmed and had them put my items on hold in Younkers.

Also, when did stuff get so expensive, even when on sale/clearance!!?? I don't have much of a budget (we're spending so much money getting our house ready to sell right now), so that was frustrating, too--needing lots of stuff, but not having much $$ for it.

I also went over to a friend's house to watch a new bollywood movie. She made me Indian food for dinner (didn't realize I was still dieting--she thought I was on maintenance). I had brought a bar. I knew I couldn't handle smelling the yummy, homemade food (she's Indian, so it was the REAL stuff) all evening, even after eating the bar, so rather than end up eating both, I just had the Indian food for dinner. I was so proud of myself, though! I measured out the grilled chicken tikka so I got just the right amount, I only had 1 samosa, about 1/8 cup rice, and about 2 tbsp of the palak paneer. I did really good! I wanted to go back for tons more, but I told myself that what I ate was a treat already. I just logged dinner onto livestrong.com a few minutes ago, and even with the Indian food and the added starch (for stabilization) at lunch, I was able to stay below my MRC allotted calories for the day!

I'm not sure if it will affect my weigh-in on Tuesday, but we'll see. Even if it does, that was a HUGE NSV for me!

I agree, since starting the program this has been an issue for myself...and I suffer from IBS so it is 10x worse than usual....Miralax every couple of days works wonders for me!!

Great solution, teacherlady.

I plan to do this in NYC next month although I'm going to let my teens eat everything they want.

I know what you mean about shopping. Last month I bought some cargo pants that were on sale and they're already too loose now. I hate to buy more now but whenever I haul myself out of my car, I have to catch my pants from slipping. I just don't want to buy clothes until I hit goal, although I did buy myself a beautiful silk blouse that's one size too small now (18) and I intend to fit into it next month.

I've had two "weak" weigh-ins in a row so I expect a good one this Tuesday.

Jen, I am sorry about your grandfather. Sometimes there are things in life that take precedence over others. You're back on track now. You'll do great from here on.

Dawn, welcome. This is a great place for support.

You made good choices for the situation at hand, and you see how disciplined you have become, as you did not go back for tons more. That in itself is a milestone.. When I eat out I always take a fat and carb blocker, do you do that?

Well, go figure, as of this morning I'm back down to 177.0 which is what I was at during my last weigh in. Thank goodness!!!

Phew! Definitely worked off the Indian food from last night with all my activity today!

I took mom to Younkers this morning so she could do some shopping and I could pick up the items I left on hold. After I dropped her off, I went to the gym and did my cardio workout. THEN I went home and started organizing and sorting stuff into tubs and boxes, as we had my husband's brother and some of his friends come over to help us move a bunch of stuff to our storage unit (we desperately needed to do that to make the house seem roomier so we can put it on the market).

Been on my feet since 10:30 am, and walking, running, or carrying stuff all day.

Patzi--I don't take the fat/carb blockers. I haven't bought any, and one of my consultants told me she didn't think it was as effective as some of the other supplements (like phentatrim). Crap! THat just reminded me that I"ve been so busy today that I forgot to take my phentatrim with lunch and dinner today! Oh well.

Good luck and let us know how your weigh in went and be proud you are making good choices.

Thanks for the suggestion. I will go back and find out what the MetaSlim is.

Weighed in yesterday and went down a pound... so I'm down 43. I hope there are more results by the end of this week, but honestly, I'm on my monthly again so this may be why I keep stalling. Any suggestions... please, give. Thanks!

Congrats on the loss. My counselors always tell me to take a B6 supplement to help with water retention. It seems to work so far.

That's really great! Have you heard of the law of diminishing returns with food? The first few bites of anything are the most delicious and satisfying, then our taste buds start losing sensitivity to it. Many of us overeat because we're trying to recapture that great taste of the first few bites. Good job!

Haha! I hadn't heard of that, but it makes a LOT of sense. Especially with spicy foods--because after a while, it's difficult to taste much of anything then.

I feel like I've lost 10lbs since Friday! Going from being severely constipated to being severely NOT! Ohhhh Boy!

Anyway - going into the center for the PiYo class tonight, so figured I might as well get a WI. I will be at the center every night this week for classes.. They are having some good ones... Increase your weight loss, Staying motivated and Road Ready. I'll need the Road Ready one, since I'll be traveling next Monday.

Hope everyone has a great week!
