Sorry it was a rough weekend - teacherlady already gave you some great advice but thought I would add my 2 cents . . . You absolutely have to have at least the minimum HSNs. . . they may seem expensive, but they are worth the cost (especially if you buy them in bulk (10 at a time for $100). I have also found that most of the time if I really want something badly enough I can find a way to save for it. . . (we really have very few needs and if you are going to do this program you need at least the minimum number of HNS).

Your attitude will determine your success. For example I was also able to eat out this weekend at Perkins for breakfast (first time in months Hubbie and I ate out). I don't know your plan so I don't know what you are allowed to have for breakfast however, I was able to stay on plan. I requested an 3 egg white omelt (though I could have gotten a 2-egg omlet) with the varous veggies I am allowed to have, the fruit cup instead of the potatoes and I did eat a couple of bites of dry whole wheat toast which I put some of the eggs on. I took in a pomagranet supplement and mixed it with my water and enjoyed a wonderful meal out with my hubbie.

The main difference I see between our 2 experiences is all in the attitude. You sound like you felt deprived, instead of being proud of yourself for making the choice to fuel your body properly. You seemed to focus on the food and not the opportunity to spend time out with friends or family.

As for the rest of it - have you checked in with your doctor recently? Does the center know about the the lack of energy and missing period? I have been a litlte hungry at times but I have been full of energy since starting this program and if anything my monthly cycles have become more regular so I would let the center know and perhaps have your homone levels checked by your dotor - especially your thyroid levels as these symptoms sound a lot like how I felt when my thyroid was messed up.

This plan is not for every one, but I really believe that you have to have the right attitude if you are going to succeed at any weightloss program. Focus on what you can have and the positive effects these choices are having on your body. It sounds to me like you did a good job with the choices you had, you should be proud of yourself for that. What would you have ordered 6 months ago?

Hello...

I weighed in today and lost .1 pound, a seed, but I will take it.. So my maintenance is going along nicely.. If you recall I gained for two weeks, but only by 1/4 and 1/2, so this loss was nice.

This past week, I added some avocado, nuts , and whole wheat pasta and some onions.. As before, whatever the allowed amount is, I ate 1/2. I did notice when I ate the whole wheat pasta, the morning after I was up 1 lb.on my scale, so will watch that. I did have as a treat a small square of baked oatmeal with some blueberries, eaten with an HNS.

Hope everyone has a great weigh in week.

Woohoo! I weighed in today and got my 3 free weeks since I lost weight. That is a miracle in itself considering I spent a considerable amount of time in the ER this weekend with my hubby because he came down with food poisoning Friday.

Sorry to hear about your struggles. Teacherlady & Mariah gave some great advice. I know, before I started the program, I didn't think I was going to be able to afford it. I was doing just the minimum HNS but since I have so much weight to lose, the center asked if I could do 4 HNS. I thought I was going to have a stroke. But I have budgeted for it. I put my Netflix account on hold for 6months, which is saving me $11/month and my grocery bills aren't as expensive as they were before, so I use that extra money to buy the HNS. If there is anything you can cancel or put on hold to help out, then I would try that.

Eating out is tough but don't be ashamed or afraid to order something that isn't on the menu. At perkins - they have eggs, so ask for your egg whites. As for Old Chicago, which was one of my favorite places to eat when I lived in KS. They have chicken wraps and chicken fettucini alfredo - so just ask for a plain chicken breast. I always tell the server that I'm on a very special diet and so far, I haven't had any issues. The server at RockIt Bar & Grill, in Chicago, thought I brought in alcohol because I had my HNS mixed in a water bottle, she told me I couldn't do that. I explained to her it was my protein drink for a special diet and she was fine with that.
And Mariah is correct.. it's all about attitude.

I hope we've helped in some way. I know everyones experiences/situations are different but we share a lot of the same speed bumps.

Definitely talk to your center! If you don't share this with them, they will never know and they won't be able to help you.

After my 6lb loss last week, I didn't think I was going to lose much between Saturday & today but had to go in to get my extra week. We didn't have that if you lose then you get 2 more deal)... which bites because I actually lost 2lbs! Hoping to have my name on that 50lb board next week!

Aside from the wonderful advice you've been given so far, I would add that most restaurants are accomadating with special requests. They do this beause they want your business back. I'm an ultra picky eater. I often order things that are not on the menu. The plainer, the better in my book. Almost every restuarant (with the exception of one) I have been to (and I go to alot of them) bend over backwards to give me something that I know is on plan. Just ask the waitress for what you want and you must might be surprised.

Patzi, I am glad this is going so well for you. The pasta weight gain was probably just from your body holding on to carbs the next day. I wouldn't really worry too much about this, but you do what you need to do.
Good luck to you!
