Joy-Thank you SO much! I plan on going to pay less tomorrow and stocking up...getting so tired of chicken! The taco sald sounds delicious.
I'm thinking of trying the replacement shakes this week, has anyone used them? Are they like a slim-fast? I weigh in tomorrow, hoping to be down 3 pounds! Its been a good non-cheating week for me, so I'm hopeful. I went to Golden Corral today and had lunch, just had a salad with tomatoes, grilled chicken and used a light amount of cheese with cantelope on the side. It was wonderful, but I'm having horrible food guilt over eating out! I feel like I cheated yet...I cant figure out how. I haven't gotten eating out on the plan down yet. :-/
I have to say, everytime I start to feel unmotivated or wanting to cheat, coming to this board is a definete motivater for me, thank you all for sharing!
I love the replacement shakes that are pre mixed, very yummy.
Changed my picture, the other one I looked too tired, it was depressing me every time I saw it.
I totally did not feel "picked on". I read so many of these posts and I don't ever respond but I am talking now because I am trying so hard to get through this. You are so right about a lifestyle change. I do believe this is it for me BUT (and there is always a but) it takes time to get away from all of those bad habbits that got me here in the first place!
TGIF! Good thing I'm broke this week because last night I dealt with some serious cravings, I wanted something from sonic so bad!! The sad thing is I think I didn't cave because I'm broke, lol..it was kinda depressing me to feel such an overwhelming craving (TOM on the horizon) but instead I had tilapia for dinner and once I ate it slowly dissapeared. I know I've been 100% on this plan so far, almost one month in but honestly looking at the months ahead I don't know if I'll always be 100%, days like yesterday were really tough both physically and emotionally.
Sherral, how much do the shakes cost or can you get them for the 5 for 50 etc, so are they 12 bucks a box too? My husband may be needing them soon, he's a truck driver and it's hard for him to make his mrc meals on the road so even if it's only 3 meals a week he can replace it would sure help him, plus the counselors said there was a cookie recipe he could make with them so he could just make the cookies over the weekend when he's home and then munch on them for dinner etc.. sounded like a good idea for me! I know last night I would have preferred a shake. Just nothing (but bad stuff) sounded good for dinner and nutrabars don't replace dinner so I was stuck.
Well I hope everyone has a great OP friday! Hang in there!

You're so right. We get in bad habits of behavior AND thinking! Hang in there - you will do great! One day at a time, one bite at a time.

They are $16. very pricey and I am going to look for something to replace them a little cheaper at Walmart.
Hang in there Spryng, I know how those HUNGRY days can be.
Does anyone else look at Friday a little different? Weekends are so much harder to manage food wise. My husband wants me to lose but he also wants an eating partner. I am on about day 100 on program so weekends have gotten a little easier.

I have used the shakes from time to time. They are pretty thick and filling, but not good enough to rate the price (seems like a box was over $20), however, if you do the metaquick, they are necessary. You may find some shakes cheaper at dietdirect.com, but typically I don't see that big of a difference in prices. If you check that, make sure you do a close comparison from the nutrition label to know it is similar.
for the shakes how many comes in a box?? I heard the premixed are more expensive, the lady at my center said to buy the powder kind and mix ourselves to save money etc.. so we may look into them tomorrow.
Sherral, yes fridays are different around here too. Pre-mrc friday's through sun were my binge days. I'd start with lunch break on friday's and just keep eating until sunday (we ate out everyday of those 3 days it seemed) now we haven't ate out in a month and not only is it saving us money but it's getting routine now. Weekends used to be so hard for me but since my dh is doing the plan with me it's much easier. Can't wait to hear about your weigh in today!! Hope it's a great one!

I use the powder kind -- there are 7 in a box. I thought they were pricey at first, too, but if you break it down from $14/box, you're really only paying $2 for each shake, which is about the same as what I'd spend if I was making a meal at home.
Tips: They're best when pretty cold, or else you start to notice an aftertaste. Use cold water (I use refrigerated water). Some people have said they come out chunky for them, but I blend mine in my Magic Bullet blender cup for about 30 secs, making sure that the powder is closest to the blender blades (it mixes better that way) before I start blending. Then I add 1 ice cube (just to make it colder, yum) and blend a few more seconds. Thick, but smooth and creamy.

I weigh in on Fridays, too. I struggle with Fridays/weekends; after I weigh in, if I've lost pretty well, I always feel like I "deserve" to splurge a little at dinner that night. I'm really trying to break myself of the habit of thinking that way.
Weekends, I'm out of my routine and struggle to drink all my water and keep from snacking. At the office, I keep a bottle of water on my desk, and have a schedule for when I need to have a certain number of ounces finished (20 oz by lunch, 20-40 more oz in the afternoon before I leave) which helps to keep me on track. On Saturdays and Sundays, I wake up late, don't pay attention to the time, and don't remember to keep pacing myself with the water. AND, I usually wander into the kitchen and find trouble. We don't have a lot of snacky stuff that I like (husband has different tastes) but I've been on a salty popcorn & chip craving lately (which is weird--I usually don't care about chips or popcorn, just love my sweets).
My consultation was on Monday this week so I began the pre-conditioning menu immediately. I also started the following supplements: Multi-vitamin and Fish Oil 1 daily (both from Sam's), MRC-6 (2) before breakfast, lunch & dinner and Enhancer (2) before breakfast & lunch (both from MRC).
I go back for the food class tomorrow (Saturday) morning.
I am trying to stay strictly to the menu but I am on the road all the time for work. Its difficult to control what restaurants put on your food even if you are very specific ordering.
I have read a few posts on the thread. Everyone seems so supportive and wonderful.

My center told me to make a list of 5-10 non-food rewards. Some big, some small. Use these when you feel like you deserve something for being good. I use things like pedicures and new eyeshadow (those are some of my big items...b/c they cost $$) and a footrub from my husband (who agreed to treat me!) and a hot bubble bath as some of my small items.
The non food rewards help us get our mind out of the habit of using food in that way.
How do you stay motivated. I start out great and it seems as if I crash before reaching my goal
I've said it before and I'll say it again - I don't depend on motivation. Motivation is an emotion and emotions come and go. This is just my life. It's what I do. As for weekends, breaking the binging habit was the hardest part of the transition, but when I did it, I had a real emotional breakthrough. I don't need food and wine to wind down anymore! They are crutches! You kinda have to go cold turkey.
