Absolutely! That is what we are here for, to share the trials as well as the triumphs. When I couldn't get online, I felt like I was cut off from everyone that knew what I was going through. I am so glad I happened upon this site! Like it was meant to be.

Olive Garden went great! Had their salad and 1/2 a bread stick, and the mussels, which I didn't even finish. I'm working another night and the licorice and cookies are gone! It's my lucky day Hoping to WI Monday or Tuesday - I didn't make it in last week. Thanks for the support!

Treysmama - 7 lbs in a week! Nice!

I just found an interesting statistic: Researchers at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine compared solo dieters to teams of dieters. After 10 months, the latter were likelier to have maintained their loss (66 percent versus 24 percent). See? What we're doing here works!!

Kid's dad might come and pick them up, he isn't sure. Heard his gf's kids and grandkids in the background. WTF?

Wow, Jace1234! I am so sorry to hear about everything you are going through right now. When I feel overwhelmed or really anxious or stressed and realize that I am about to start stress eating, the best thing I can do is go take a walk. I have a 2-mile route that I take, and when I get home, I've usually forgotten what it was I was hungry for and I usually feel a little calmer. Hang in there!

That sounds like a victory to me! The last time I went to the Olive Garden, I ordered the Grilled Chicken Spiedini, which is basically grilled chicken with zucchini and squash. It was really tasty, and everyone at the table wondered why I wasn't eating pasta. Too big of a group to explain, but just goes to show you can eat reasonably well almost anywhere!

I totally concur with the Pitt researchers. This board has made all the difference for me.

Personal Update--Had a successful trip home. I slipped up a little at lunch today, but I consider that only a minor hiccough since all weekend I was able to keep my hands off the chips, dips, salsas and nuts that my dad snacks on constantly. (And yet, he does not have a weight problem!) Actually, I did most of the cooking Friday and Saturday, and everyone said they really enjoyed the meals. Equally successful is that I did a great job of getting my water in and staying hydrated. I'd give myself a B+ this weekend. Room for improvement, but it wasn't a train wreck.

For those who buy your products on-line, this week dietdirect has the gelatins on sale ... the strawberry banana, cherry and raspberry. They are the 60 calorie, no carb, 15 grams of protein -- the identical product. BariWise Gelatin is what it's called.

I'm plodding along slowly but surely ... my body is so mad at me, so it's taking it's time, but it will break through soon. I am hanging in there.

Great job on resisting the temptations!! I know what you mean about them "calling" for you. We constantly have people bringing in food...mostly donuts!! It is VERY hard to resist sometimes, but so far I have done it
Now, we are all going to lunch for a co-worker's last day...hopefully I can find something MRC friendly to eat. Wish me luck!

Hi All, my name is Alisha and was on MRC last summer and a member of the board. I had some personal stress happen and gained some of the weight back...so I am officially headed to MRC today to resign!! I've been thinking about it for a while and had asked for some advice here. Of course everyone was great and super supportive I just didn't get my act together. Anyway I have a 2pm appointment.

I'll let you all know how it goes later!

I'm so sorry for your loss, your sadness, your suffering.... all of it. You've taken a huge blow, but you're going to make it through. Just take baby steps through this.... one step at a time ok? And take care of yourself. Make sure you are getting sleep, getting time, getting emotional support. Journal if you can.... get all of those feelings out on paper, or with someone. Whatever works best for you. And try to make good food choices right now, because it will help you deal physically and emotionally much better than if you don't (in a totally healthy way.... you'll just "feel" better physically). Take time and sit with it all. Don't push it "all" away, and remember how very much you are loved.

Hi All,

Sounds like everyone did pretty well over the weekend...congratulations!!

I am happy to report that I am on day 7 and still holding strong and staying OP. I'm so excited because each day OP makes my resolve stronger.

I did have 4 strawberries yesterday in the car and 1 bite of carrot today while making a salad. Very minor off program deviations, but I want to stay mindful, otherwise its too easy to slip off in a big way.

3 more days than bye bye blue menu for ever and hello green
