  • Quote: Thanks everyone for your welcome and your help with HNS flavors. Now I have another question. I track what I eat on a website that includes all of the nutritional information. I think I ate everything I was supposed to eat today, but my calories only came to 520. That is very low. Is that about right for day 1? The breakdown of protein, carbs and fat was correct at about 60%/20%/20%, so I think I did everything right. If that is correct, does the number of calories go up after day 4? (I have 30 pounds to lose.)
I had no idea that it was that low...what is the website that you are tracking on? I know that the first 3 days was tough for me. Days 4 through 10 a little easier and then I felt like I had so much more freedom after day 11. Check out the recipe blog for new ideas to keep you out of a rut of eating the same thing all the time.

I too have about 30-35 pounds total to lose. Maybe we can stay in touch and keep each other on track. I have lost around 10 and I am hoping to lose another 10 before vacation in mid July! We're going to my mother's on the Texas coast (bathing suit...) and I haven't seen her since Christmas and have not told her that i was on this program, just want to surprise everyone.
  • Hi everyone, Well I had a busy weekend with a lot of company. I am very proud of myself, I stayed OP. Hope the scale shows a loss tomorrow at WI.
    Good Luck to everyone.
  • Quote: Does anyone else have trouble with leg cramps at night? I have had cramps almost every night since getting on program. If you have had them, did you figure out how to handle them? Any help would be appreciated...ouch!
Have you tried Liquid Minerals? I get mine at Sam's and--knock on wood--I haven't had leg cramps yet this go around. Also, I'm not sure if this is compliant with the plan, but my dad drinks diet tonic water for his leg cramps. You might also be able to pick up some quinine at the local health food store.

    Welcome Ali!
  • Well I did day 2 today and it was a little better. I was pretty hungry around 3pm so I think tomorrow I will drink a HNS at that time to curb the appetite. I have WI tomorrow and have a couple of questions for them. Like how many flaxseed oil do I need to take in a day? But I am really excited and ready to be healthy!
  • Janet congrats on the size 16's!!! That is so awesome.
  • Traysmama, hello! You are suppose to take 2 flax with every meal for a total of 6 per day. I've read from some others on here that may take more but everything I have read in my paperwork says 6. Good luck at WI tomorrow!

Don't forget to add in your protein drinks. You can get the info on the box. Good Luck!
  • Noahsmama, thanks for the info. I am very excited about my first WI! Well I hope everyone has a wonderful day and I am so thankful I have found this website!
  • Starting again
Hi all! I have not been on here in a while, I have been off plan for over a month. In reality it has been hard for me to stick with this plan since I started, but I know this is a great plan. I just get really side tracked alot since my family and I are very social people (going out to dinner drinks etc.) But, here I am again determined to make it work this time. Wish me luck!!!

Thanks for the info. I'll have to try that!

Welcome! I get hungry around that time too and a HNS holds me until dinner. It sounds like you are on the right track!

Welcome! I know what you mean about eating out. It does get easier once you get done with the pre-conditioning menus to eat out. I'm really looking forward to that because we like to eat out too. It will work though so hang in there!

WTG vabbus. The weekends are hard for me too and I feel good about myself when I stay OP. Surely your hard work will pay off!
  • khunter - the website I use to log my food and exercise is on livestrong.com. Under "diet and nutrition" click on "daily plate". They have loads of foods in the database, including HNS, and you write in what you ate and it calculates the nutrional content. It allows you to change the portion size. I find that it helps and is a lot more detailed than the food diary I got from my center. Ali
  • Morning all,

Well, it's actually afternoon now, but I'm just getting around to checking the boards, LOL! Had a good weekend with the program and scale is happily moving downward again.

Stuck in grad school - OMG - I just bought a pair of the curvy fit from Eddie Bauer this weekend too and I love them. Finally!!!!

Question for everyone - do you guys take anything for a calcium supp? I'm a little concerned about being over 40 and not getting a ton of dairy in our diets right now (I'm on green menu). Suggestions? Am I worrying over nothing?

One more question - is hot sauce ok? I've been bored out of my mind with eggs and someone suggested a squirt of hot sauce...hmmmm??

    Have a great day everyone!

    Lori-
I started taking a calcium supplement in May. I had blood work drawn, doctor said I was anemic-put me on iron, and said I should have the dex--know that probably isn't right correct spelling, but it is the test for bone density. Have got other 'lady' issues I have to get resolved first. I started taking Caltrate, because I was too pushed for time to hit the health food store for a product called "Bone up".
My mom had some issues as she was lactose intolerant and raising 6 kids took a toll on her body, so I am going to choose to be pro-active about it.

I am all about a squirt of hot sauce to spice things up!
