dla, I'm so sad that I won't see you at the center. We moved to Crete last fall...aka some of the stress...and so I am going to the Lincoln center now. I thought I could do the Omaha center since I was still working in Omaha, but it just didn't work. Anyway, I made the decision this spring to take a job closer to crete and now I don't really go to Omaha at all
Those prices seem about right for the initial. I paid $298 the first time for 17 weeks.
The special is only to resign. It seems that most of the centers run incentive aka discounted programs for those who have done the program before and need to lose again. Usually it runs about $99 for 10 weeks and $149 for 17 weeks to resign. But they will sometimes have "specials" on those prices. I think the initial prices are pretty standard. Does that help??
Thank you, yes it does help. I am in the process of joining, but just can't figure out when it is good for me in between vacations and holidays. I was going to go in today and spoke to Jeannie, and during my consultation, she set me up for the 24 weeks, but money is the thing right now, and she said I could join for 17 weeks at $298 and then sign up for 17 at $79 or 24 at $99 which I am so confused because by doing the 17 and the 24 later is so much the same price except more weeks....I think maybe I misunderstood her.
It really might be less if you sign up for the 17 now and then more later...the first time you sign you are paying a lot of fees and stuff that you don't pay when you resign. Good luck!!!

Are you at the Lincoln center?
Yes, I am at the Lincoln center. I have been having a heck of a time figuring out the right time to join. If I don't do it tomorrow, then I will probably wait until after I come back from vacation in mid-July. I just figure being on vacation, I will miss many of the classes, and if I'm going to pay this much, i want to use it as much as possible. lol Who did you like at the Lincoln center? I met with Jeannie, but she is not there tomorrow, so I'd like to stick with her to get me started.
I've been OP for 57 days and have lost 27 pounds and 36.5 inches. Just had to share because I was pretty happy. I guess I was hoping for mroe inches lost, only 4 more inches in 4 weeks? That seems hard for me to believe. I'm guessing my inch loss will slow down. I lost 19 in 2 weeks, then 32.5 at 4 weeks and now 4 more. I'm just thankful that I'm continuing to lose!
Wow! Great job!
Have you had a chance to read the paper towel theory on weight loss? It is posted on one of the major MRC threads, but I'm not sure which. Basically it refers to the speed with which your roll of paper towels gets smaller. When the roll is new and you remove a sheet, it is hard to tell. When you have used up a lot of the roll and you remove a sheet, it makes a much more noticeable difference. The article compares weight loss to that roll of paper towels--hence when you get closer to goal, there should be less weight between dress sizes, etc. Poor explanation--I'll try to locate the real deal for you.

Thank you. I would appreciate that. That sounds interesting.

This was my daily mantra when I first started losing and no one really said anything for about the first 25 pounds!
Also the flight of stairs one is my other favorite--if you stumble or falter on a step, do you throw yourself down the flight of stairs, or do you grab onto the railing and get your footing right and keep on climbing!
I work at a camp for kids in the foster care system with a history of abuse or neglect. They are kids that wouldn't be able to go to any other kind of camp. It is exhausting, emotionally draining and rewarding all rolled into one. This was a co-ed camp for 7 -11 year olds. In the middle of July I will do a similar one for 12 - 15 year old girls. The older girls is an emotionally TOUGH camp.
Denise (namaste) you look amazing... I've got to tell you I still make your salsa all the time and people always love it and want the recipe. Not bad for "diet" food
Thank you! I feel great!!!!
I'm so glad you like the salsa; it's just the best isn't it.... I love that stuff.
I want the salsa recipe. Is it on the recipe thread? Thanks.
Sure thing.... It is on the recipe thread along with a GREAT taco casserole recipe (you should really try) but here you go just in case:
4-6 fresh tomatoes
1/2 cup cilantro
2-4 jalapenos
1 fresh garlic clove
3-4 green onions
Blend ingredients in a blender or food processor. For chuckier salsa, pulse 2-5 times. For smoother salsa, blend until you get the desired consistency. Measure before eating to ensure the right serving size.

Thanks for the paper towel theory! I've never read that before but it's a great analogy!!! One I will have to remember when I get discouraged.
And BTW, I thought your explanation was great...or else we think alike b/c I understood it perfectly

Great explaination. Works with toilet paper as well! Now I understand why the nervousness in people as well. When you are down to the last few sheet of TP, they are more precious as well!
Yum, Denise, thank you. (I posted to you on the 200+ thread, then realized you might not see it, so apologies If I am repeating myself) What is considered a serving, and how do you log it? I am a little confused with condiments. I think I would be very happy to sit down with an 8-oz bowl-full and lick it clean and call it "raw vegetable".....but seriously doubt that is the intent! LOL
I can't wait to try this. Gonna pick some cilantro from the garden, and buy some tomatoes today. Thanks.
Welcome back! Hope to see you sometime at the Lincoln center. I was just there at WI today. I'm down 20 pounds in 50 days and I have another 28 to go! Best of luck to you.

Great job! You are I are very close in timing and progress, but I've only lost 31.5 inches. So even though you only lost 4 from the last measurement, you're still going so well!
I started about a week before you. I'm going on vacation for over a week, and I'm very afraid I won't lose anything then. I'm not worried about big splurges and really gaining, but just having to eat out so many meals can't be good! I'm close to 1/2 way to my goal, but I'm expecting things to slow down even more. I hope not.... I haven't weighed anywhere close to my goal in so many years that in a way it doesn't even seem possible. But then, I haven't stuck to a diet and exercise program like this before either!
