Hi Khunter,
Thought I would give you my input on buying herbs... I have taken the MRC6, enhancer, flax, MV, cortitrim since start of plan. Recently I have run out of MRC6 and cut back to only 3 a day and will soon d/c this. 2 mo. ago I ran out of the Enhancer and had no plans of buying more mostly b/c it was costly ($99/mo). Not long after stopping this I began to hit long plateaus that would last 1.5 to 2 weeks and when I would finally lose something, it would be 1.5 or 2.5 lbs. I basically lost maybe 8 lbs in a 6 week period. I was getting frustrated. I could not understand what had changed, I was OP and had even started exercising cardio 3 x a week. If anything will make you fall off plan it's working your butt off to lose, being perfectly OP and suddenly not losing!! Finally, feeling desperate, I decided to give the Enhancer a try again and lost 3.5 lbs the 1st week back on it. I continued it and lost another 3.5 the next week. This week (3rd week back on it) I lost 3 lbs despite the fact that I had a big splurge Saturday of Memorial Weekend eating dessert, a biscuit and a pack of reeses peanut butter cups (Lord, Don't even ask me why! Overboard, I know). Anyways, I initially gained 1 lb but dropped 3 by this past Saturday at WI. Honestly, the Enhancer is worth every penny to me at this point. I have not seen the effect of stopping MRC6 yet but I'll update you as I experiment with dropping this one in the next few weeks. I have been using CT since start and my hubby noticed I lost weight around my middle and hips unlike previous times I've dieted - usually I lose from the head down w/hips being the last place to go. I can only attribute this difference it to the Cortitrim at this point. Hope this helps you decide.

What is the 'enhancer' that you referred to? Is that similar to All Day Weight Loss or Phentatrim?

I dropped the cortitrim a month ago and am trying the much more reasonably priced Relacor from Walmart, $24.00 - I hope it works...as my middle and hips have had the most inch lost overall. I am out of my 16's and in my 12's and some 10's - you know the pants stuck way back of the closet that hasn't seen the day of light for a million years....my wardrobe is increasing weekly as I pull out clothes that haven't fit for ages...I wear classics - basic slacks and blouses so I do not have to worry about being out of style

Hi Ladies,
Fairly new to the site but have posted on the 200 thread. Started MRC three weeks ago, have lost 7 lbs and feel great about that. Just had some bad news though, I am a travel nurse and my current contract ends June 6. I just found out that I do not have another contract coming up so by next week I will be unemployed. I am trying to run around putting in applications, setting up interviews and generally my stress level has gone through the ceiling. Add to that, I am a single parent of three teenage boys and my middle one has gotten into some legal trouble. He is 18 and is developmentally delayed.
I wanted to go off plan the other day and took the boys out for ice cream at Cold Stone Creamery. Last minute I decided to order a fruit smoothie with splenda instead. That was close, still off plan but a better choice. The center suggested to max out on my Cortitrim. Started that but that won't help the stress. All my other coping mechanisms are gone, a frufru alcoholic drink, a fatty meal out with friends, and want to not spend money on other non food things like a pedicure or massage. All that said, what do you suggest to deal with the stress?

Lori,

Go for a drive, talk a walk, watch a movie, or visit some friends. I know this is a stressful time for you, but don't let it sabotage this one thing that you can do for your health. Take it day by day. Post here a lot or read some other weight loss forums here to keep you inspired.

Nursing jobs can pop up unexpectedly. If you have a good reputation where you currently work, maybe the manager can recommed you for another unit.

Don't give up on anything. You'll get a job soon and the legal troubles will soon be part of the past.

If you're a nurse and the a single mother of three teenage boys you must have developed some great coping mechanisms by now.

Just think of the best way personally for you to use something besides eating off the MRC diet.

Good luck, Lori.

Stay strong I know you can do it. Just think if you give into temptation and lose control of the one thing you're in control of right now (your weight) it's going to further agitate your situation. Prepare your meals ahead of time, take a mini cooler in your car with you to interviews...even if you think you will make it home in time for your next meal. Keep your food on you. If you're out going location to location and forgot your food stop at a grocery store and have the deli slice you a quarter pound of chicken breast. I just did this yesterday. I thought I would be home in time for dinner but couldn't make it so I got some turkey breast from a deli, a container of pre cut celery sticks a box of melba and was all set to eat on plan. A frufru drink will taste good in the moment, a dinner out will be yummy while you eat it...but the weight you gain will stick with you and will more than negate the positive feelings you felt in the moment giving in.

You are a strong beautiful woman and can make it through this. You've raised 3 teenage boys and that's proof enough for me that you can make it through this.

Yes, it is supposed to be like the all day weight loss but instead of taking a bunch of pills all day, you only take 2 in am and 2 in pm and get better results. It is supposed to be alot more powerful than Phentatrim or All day weight loss per the counselor at my center. The Metabolic Enhancer is touted for increasing your metabolism by "33%". I really did think that was a bunch of bologna at 1st but have since changed my tune. My center no longer sells all day weight loss and says the Phentatrim is for those with medical conditions prohibiting use of a more powerful product (palpitations, heart conditions etc).

Hey Lori,
3 things I would recommend: 1. Exercise - absolutely free and good for you as well. 2. Breathing - when times get tough, take a moment to just breath and talk yourself right through it. Sit down in a meditative type pose and just breath calmly, letting go of all the stress and anxiety 3. Pray. Know that it will get better, accept what you cannot change and keep your cool. Stay steady and consistent and it will all work out. If you just keep doing what you have been doing up to now w/o changing a thing you will make it through this rough patch and find the other side again soon. You're a tough lady raising 3 boys alone, I know you can get through this and stay on course with your weight loss all the while. We're here for you.

Thank you!!!!!!!!
You all are great and right! Your support brought tears to my eyes. We are all strong and beautiful. I am taking this as a challenge to reform not only my eating habits but my thoughts as well. Normally I would have taken a vacation from whatever diet I am on and justify it. Now is the time for more healthy choices and develop some healthy coping mechanisms. On the way to my WI I turned up the radio and sang loudly (and badly ). Decided to celebrate all good things that are present in my life. On the way home I celebrated a 2 pound weight loss. One more pound and will celebrate my first 10 pound loss.
Off to bed and then work. Sending all wishes for big losses this week.

So I have been sick with what feels like the start of an upper respitory infection... and one of the worst parts (besides feeling like I cant breathe) is that all my food tastes bad.

I am eating lunch right now and my broccolli tastes like it has rotted or something. It is hard to get my food down right now and there is a rice crispy treat taunting me in the kitchen .... not that it would taste good anyways *or thats what I keep telling myself*

anyways, I had to vent somewhere

Lori I'so glad that you have put a positive spin on your current challenge. I, lke you, would probably have used food as my outlet during you current situation and it's finding other things to substitute for that. Congrats on losing 2 pounds!! I'll be thinking about you and look forward to hearing from you on here!

I haven't been sick while on program yet (knock on wood) but I can only imagine if that happens. This is a great place to vent and hopefully receive the much needed support that you need right now. So hopefully you have resisted the urge to go eat that rice cripsy treat and just keep going! You'll be proud when you do resist those urges. Even the small things are BIG rewards for us.

I am also new to MRC and am have started preconditioning today. Over the years I've done a lot of different programs, but sadly am at my highest weight ever; 190 lbs. I am exhausted all the time and my joints hurt. I'm too young to feel this way and know that I need to get the weight off. I have horible sugar cravings so cleaned out my refridgerator and cupboards this weekend.

My goal for June is to simply stick with the program. To be able to get through a month without cheating would be HUGE for me.

You can do it MissZsaZsa I have my fingers crossed for you. Every day won't be easy but I can tell you that the easy days WAY out weight the harder moments. This is the right plan for success if you stick to it...it REALLY works!!
