Hey everybody...just wanted to stop by and say hello and I was afraid to weigh yesterday but I did go to a class at my center. The counselor talked about the inner child and how you have to deal with her so she is not always sabotaging you. and ask yourself ..What are you angry at? I have found myself journaling on that this morning and it seems to be helping...I wanted to thank everyone for the encouragement and support.it means so much to share this journey with such wonderful people...I will report when I allow myself to go and weigh...back on OP...Have a good day..Deborah

Hey Meemo! The game was fun, but it sure was hot!! My little Makay was stripped down to her little diaper by the end of the day . I can't wait for some cooler weather. I am like you and glad that we are #2 now. This weekend against South Carolina should be our first test. It is ridiculous how tough our schedule is, but maybe we will make it all the way one game at a time!!

2kiddos: I have a quick two-day flight to Washington DC in a couple of weeks, where my community foundation is taking 212 World War II Veterans to see the WWII memorial, and where I have no control over what I'll be eating (box lunch from Arby's, breakfast/dinner pre-ordered and catered at the hotel, etc.). As there is literally no way to carry anything other than HNS (we are limited to a backpack with one change of clothing), I asked the MRC staff for suggestions to stay OP. It pretty much boils down to using the HNS to fill in the gaps if there is too much time between meals, plus taking the fat/carb blocker along, drinking lots and lots of water, and then making the best choices you can without feeling guilty. I will make sure I have two of the MRC bars as backup. I took a California trip back in June and carried the powdered HNS and the MRC bars. The bar was a lifesaver on the trip out, as we were on the plane from 10:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., so it was lunch. It worked for me.

tvmitche: Welcome back! Bite the bullet and get back on track. Who knows how much you can lose by your birthday, but you can sure aim for that 30 lbs.

Shenanigan, Silverbelle, kclewis5606: great job on the losses!

Rocki: I checked with my daughter, who is a size 0-2 and she suggested The Limited, Express, NY and Company, Dave & Barry's (carries Sarah Jessica Parker's line), Charlotte Russe and Forever 21. Good luck! (I couldn't help but laugh at SchoonCR's reply about not being a female.)

I do think that 30 pounds is achieveable by some time in December.

ABSOLUTELY!!!

Just make small goals for yourself! 30lbs in the next 12 weeks. 2.5lbs a week. Just make it a goal to stay OP as much as you can, and excercise when you can (even MORE if you cannot stay OP), and aim for 2-3lbs a week.

Small steps lead to big gains!

At WI today I was down 1lb, which I am OK with, since I have been hitting the weights pretty hard, and more salt than I should have in the last day or so. Now 2lbs from my original goal weight.

I guess many people would be ticked at me for complaining about being a size 2. I just know there's a lot of support here. I guess when I was a size 14/16 I would have hated me! I know it sounds stupid and some of you are sitting there saying "Is she F-ing kidding me", but it's an issue for anyone who gets down to a certain weight and is short and can't find clothes anymore. I'm 36 years old, not 20 and I don't always want to dress sleezy (sometimes, but not always). So, I like to shop @ regular stores, not always junior stores, kwim?

However, Judy, I will try those stores that you mentioned b/c I know some of them have nice WOMAN'S clothes. I love NY&Co and have a GC for that store, but some of the 2s there are even loose. I weigh 128 lbs for crying out loud. It's not like I weigh 105! I could understand then. I weighed 114 in 1992 and was wearing a 4. 16 years later I'm 12 lbs more and 1 size smaller! Doesn't really make sense, esp since I've had 2 children and my whole middle area is distorted.

Whatever. Just ignore me I guess. I'm still like the rest of you. I've struggled with a weight problem for years and have finally got it under control. You all know how hard it is. Hopefully you will ALL (esp SchoonCR) be in a size 2 someday and you'll understand.

[INSERT CRUDE JOKE OF CHOICE HERE] about me being in a size 2.

I will suffice to say that I was in a size 2 when I was 9.

Awesome problem to have looking for smaller clothes. I have about 8 pairs of shorts, 5 pairs of pants that I have bought in the last 3 years since I started getting fat... All laid out to goto Goodwill. Sad because I apparently had good taste in bigger clothes, so its all nice Tommy Bahama/Polo stuff.

I bet they repeat that advice on the 6:30 news tomorrow morning so that everyone who didn't throw off their jammies and rush to the gas station tonight does it first thing in the morning. How irresponsible! Remember the toilet paper shortage Johnny Carson accidentally caused a long time ago? Well, I don't either, but I did learn about it in my history class.
They aren't kidding tho - having gone through Hurricane Ivan there were gas shortages here for awhile after. Of course, it can become a self-fulfilling prophecy, but everyone here now knows to fill the tanks if there's a hurricane coming.

1) Has anyone ever taken HNS with them when they travel? I don't like to check my luggage. Since the HNS are technically "liquid" I'm concerned about being able to take enough for 4 days. Anyone have any experience there?
2) Bars....do you guys recommend them? I'm worried about being able to find the right OP foods for every meal....especially the ones where I'm stuck in the airport. I haven't tried any of the bars yet. Do you guys think they're a good thing to have on hand for travel? Any favorite flavors?
3) Long days - a couple of my days will be loooonnnggg! (Monday for instance I'll be up by about 2:00am to make my 6am flight. My day won't end before 11pm or so that night.) I know we're supposed to do try to eat about every 4-5 hours - but there aren't enough meals and HNS in one day (I can have 4 HNS/day) to spread over that many hours. Any suggestions for how best to handle? Are there OP snacks that I should try to work in?

Sorry such a long post with so many questions. The travel is just throwing me for a loop. I'm afraid it will derail me, and I'd like to plan for success if I can. I traveled during pre-conditioning and ended up off plan - I'd like to avoid that if I can this time.

TIA for all the help!
When I flew I took powdered HNS, not the concentrates. Took it out of the boxes & I don't remember exactly how I packed them, probably in a zip-lock bag. Took my Tupperware shaker thingie to shake them up. I looked like a druggie with all my vitamins & herbs in baggies too. I took some bars for breakfasts - hotel continental breakfasts aren't usually real MRC friendly. Sometimes you can find a fast-food salad in the airports (depending on the airport) - might not be perfect but you do the best you can.

Drink lots of water, especially on the plane. An extra B-6 to help with water retention. Pick up some of the soy crispy HNS - great snack for the plane when everyone else is having peanuts or crackers.

And ask at your center - they usually have good advice for weird situations. But the bottom line is that you do the best you can, and don't beat yourself up if you can't be perfectly on plan.

I'm only mentioning that so you know what I weigh and how it should correlate a little better to sizing. Anyway. I've been buying new clothes along the way and was excited to see the sizes going from 14 to 12 to 10 to 8, etc...Well, I did a lot of shopping @ NY&Co in July and had to buy mostly size 2 pants and shorts. I know I really should be able to wear a size 6 (well, the old 6). I then got some new jeans @ Old Navy and had to buy size 4s (the jeans seemed to run smaller than the shorts). I got some 4s @ Gap too. As I got smaller I needed to buy more smaller jeans @ Old Navy (I like their jeans and they're reasonably priced). Well, I bought 2 pair of size 2 jeans last week (in Vegas). I guess after one wearing they stretch and now the size 2s are even baggy (while I'm still trying to wear the 4s b/c they're only 6 weeks old). I know this sounds stupid to those of you in size 14s or bigger or even 8 or 10 (I've been there too). However, it's really frustrating b/c at this point there won't be any WOMAN's place for me to shop when I lose the 10 more lbs I'd like to lose. I should be able to weigh 115 for my height and build. I don't know if ON has size 0 or 00, but seriously, it would probably be and "old" size 4.

Off my soapbox, but it's ticking me off. My best friend said "stop whining b/c you got so thin you have to buy smaller clothes, go shop at The Children's Place" . UGH! I want adult clothes that fit ADULTS properly. She's glad b/c the vanity sizing allows her to wear 6s and 8s when she should be in a 10 (she recently lost almost 60 lbs and was wearing 16s I think).
The good news is that ON jeans DO come in size 0, and maybe even 00 (not sure).

Yep - I remember some really hot days at the stadium - got myself in a little trouble one time drinking too much & not eating enough on one of those hot days. Not pretty - 35 years ago and I still can't drink bourbon!

I know, but I don't think announcing that gas shortages are coming (which is basically what they did) is the appropriate way to handle something like that because it induces panic buying and encourages price gouging. Couldn't it just be rolled in with general hurricane preparedness tips? Everyone who is halfway thinking should go get gasoline along with their water, duct tape, and cans of pork & beans. Today it looks like the storm is going elsewhere, so maybe folks here will stay calm a few more days.

But, off that soapbox...I just came from Target where I found a cute black dress for $24 and did not step on a grungy pin/small nail. I wanted to see if they carried Cortitrim/-slim, but they didn't...only Relacore, which happens to be on sale until 9/22. The pharmacist actually recommended starting with the exact same Mega Green T w/ Hoodia that Crystal & Donuts were talking about earlier in the summer, which is about 25% of the price of the Relacore. He said that it was a very effective supplement when taken as directed (and when the dieter does their part), and went on to say that if the Mega Green T did not help, the Relacore probably wouldn't help either. Just passing the information along.

Hi there! Your baby girl is soo cute...how old is she? I have a 14 month old baby boy...he's is ALL boy and into EVERYTHING these days...but so much fun! Love him to pieces...

Anywho: I was down 1 whole lb at WI today...big whoop...I guess I was hoping for more, despite the salt problem. Overall the picture is still good...I'm down 6 so trying not to get annoyed. It took me longer than a week to pack it on..only fair it should take longer than a week to get it off...but it was MUCH more fun putting it on! LOL...I just keep dreaming of those smaller sizes and actually feeling cute again!
