What's the longest you've gone without going off plan? A month, two, three? I think it would be interesting to see everyone's responses. Also, anyone up for a little "no cheat" competition?
I haven't been off plan since I started - 19 days now. I'm going to make it as long as I can....there's no way I'll make it as long as some on the board have!
I'm proud to say I haven't ever eaten off plan.... however, there have been a couple of occasions where I have skipped a meal (can be considered off plan, I guess). I just can't do the blt's (bite lick taste) because for me, it's just too slippery of a slope.... also, I haven't ever found something that is more important than my freedoms.
Wow! That's so great! I really like the idea of the freedom list you shared in another post. I bet it really does help keep things in perspective. I'm going to make my own freedoms list.
I'm so glad you said that because my knees were hurting, and I woke up with a wicked leg cramp last night. But I'm past all that now, and it's just my back. I think I'm going to spend some time on the heating pad this evening. I went straight to Target after class and bought the thickest yoga mat they had. Apparently the normal ones are a 3 and this one is a 5, whatever that means. I haven't used it yet, but it is definitely bulkier and a little heavier. When you use two mats, do you stack them directly on top of one another? The instructor had two criss-crossed like an X, and I couldn't tell if that was so she could work toward different parts of the room, or if she was supporting the middle of her back as well. I appreciate your time estimate (knowing that it is a give & take time frame) and will give it at least another month.
That's a great idea! I've only had one massage, and it was wonderful!
I did yoga regularly for about 6-8 months late last year/early this year. I LOVE it. I'm looking for a class now that will fit my schedule. Stick with it, as you get used to the poses and your flexibility increases the pain will go away.
Just back from WI and I was down 2 lbs so got to sign the 80 lb board **YEA** Had another talk about contract dates, etc. My contract ends next month just after the Oct stab class so I will be going to stab in November. I'm glad because it gives me some extra weeks to stay OP and (hopefully) continue to lose. I'm so thrilled that I am so close to my goal weight!
I did buy some powdered HNS today in anticipation of vacation. I am going to WI before we leave next Friday. We're going to Colorado and I can't wait to get into some cooler weather!
I just need to brag a little....I just had my 1st WI yesterday (after preconditioning), and am down 5 lbs for the week, and 7 lbs for the two weeks!!!!
I'm on the blue menu, and moving to green for the duration on Sunday. I can't wait to check out the creamy HNS!!

I had an NSV today. I had a meeting in the snack bar with a professor I've known forever and interact with on a regular basis. While I was waiting for him to get there, I was reading a textbook and resting my head on my hand. When he arrived, I didn't notice him and he plopped all his stuff down at another table because he didn't recognize me! Usually I'd chalk this up to an arterial flow problem or just being an absent-minded professor, but he said he saw me but that my face was so thin that he didn't recognize me. Cool, huh? I honestly think my body must have changed with just one yoga session because he's not the only person I've seen on a regular basis that has said that I have started looking very different in the last couple of days.
That was a huge boost, but I think I'm stress eating now. I got plenty of water and gasoline last night before the storm turned toward us again, but this morning I was called upon to make a batch of salsa for a hurricane party tomorrow. The evacuation traffic is HORRIBLE, and of course the supermarkets are a zoo. I promptly came home with my tomatoes and ate almost an entire rotisserie chicken. The only solace I can take in this unfortunate turn of events is that 1) it could be hormone-driven and 2) it was mostly lean protein. Otherwise, I feel as though I could be mooo-ing soon.

He had that deer in the headlights look, and I almost felt sorry for him. But I did give him a bit of a warning as I started to unbutton my slacks that I had my exercise shorts on and he had seen me in those before. Come to think of it, that may have actually scared him even more, as that is when I got the "headlights" look.

I went to WI today and was down 1 lb. I have been averaging 3 lbs per week until now. This gives me just 1.5 this week. On the upside, I did get to sign the 10 lb board today!!! I am heading out of town for the weekend to visit my sister which will really be my first trial on the program. I think the situation is such that I can stay on plan which is my goal but it will take some determination and planning ahead.
my b-day is the 28th..my husband's is the 10th (same as yours)...i am turning 40...and i want soooo bad to lose a bunch by then..i just went and weighed today..up 3 pounds...but i had been off for a few weeks...my determination is back now...yeah..we can track each other to lose by our birthdays.

I do want to say it took 50 years...ugh...hate to admit it...but yep..50 to find Yoga! It has been instrumental in my flexibiltiy! I soooooooo wish I had started it at 30...actually...my biggest motivation is my 4 year old grandson. Go figure...make sense Meemo and GMAof4?...His preschool does Yoga for 30 min....Every Day!!!! Hmmm maybe I should have started at 4. I am starting it with my Kinders! ...Okay...so Grad....let's see what the input is...
I do TOTALLY understand - I've been saying recently I've GOT to start doing yoga or Pilates or get back to my favorite, Callanetics. It's kind of a combination of yoga & Pilates & other exercises. My flexibility has gone way downhill recently.
I have to have an outpatient procedure done next Tues and I am forbidden to take any of my supplements. It is a cyst on my face (ew!) so I think he afraid for infection/bleeding. Anyway, the center has NO idea how this will affect my loss, except to say it will slow it down. Well, 1.5 pounds a week is already pretty slow. Anyway, anyone else know how I should combat this? The center could give me no help. I found that strange since there has surely been a client who has to have a surgical procedure in all of their years of in business!
Ask them to put you on medical hold for however long you can't take your supplements.
I think we might need a Sticky thread for all things supplements and Herbs, it may be easier for us all to find that info.
Anyone know how to do that?
