I'm trying to send it back east, out into the Atlantic where it can't hurt anyone! Doesn't look like I'll have much luck, tho...

Thanks for the welcomes!

Hopefully all will be better in a week. I weighed this morning and haven't lost anything since Monday. I feel like I am eating way to much and having to shove food down my throat. I want to be on the GREEN menu!!!!

MSM/glucosamine/chondroitin, from what I have read and my chiropractor tells me, all do real well at working on preventing further damage to, and protecting the joints.

Is MRC selling it for another reason?

At my center they said that it would help with sagging skin. In the research I have done online I don't see anything about it. The only thing that I can figure out is that they are trying to make some sort of correlation between new skin cells and sagging skin.

Wow am I glad for this board today!!

For the couple of people who posted about fatigue, nausea, etc. - I'm glad to know I'm not alone. I've been dragging all day, and this morning the thought of HNS and daily meal plan almost made me gag! Guess by Day 4 my body has figured out that I'm serious about the change. :) I stuck with it today - I'm determined to make this plan work for me.

SchoonCR - thanks for your reply to the fatigue post. It's helpful to understand what is going on - and to know that it's an expected part of this. (and that it's temporary!)

I'm hanging on by a thread right now....EVERYTHING in the pantry looks delicious! Luckily it'll be bedtime soon and tomorrow is a new day. Looking at all of your pics and seeing how successful this can be is inspiring.

Thanks to all of you!!

I'm with you on the food. My problem last night was that nothing on plan sounded good so I just ate to get it done. I am on day 5 of my plan and I could not bring myself to eat the total quantity of veggies for supper last night. I know I need to stick to the plan and I will. I need to keep trying all the great menu ideas on this board and ask for support. Right now, I'm struggling with knowing how much of something to cook so it equals the correct amount to eat. My fridge seems to be collecting the little portions that I over cooked. Guess i'll need to throw them all in a pan and make some kind of meal out of them to use them up!!

Today is a new day though!!!

2kiddos and Rdy2lose, I am starting day 4 and have already been through the gag phase. I dont know if the food is just too bland or what, but it is too much at lunch and dinner. I've started steaming veggies so that I only have to eat 4 oz instead of 8 raw. That worked a little. I guess I need something to give the food flavor. It also doesn't help that I am really picky with veggies.

I thought I was the lone veggie lover around here. I can never get enough. I have huge, plastic serving bowls that I use as my salad bowls. When I'm not OP, I'll fill it to the top & eat every last bite. I only really care for the ones on the list anyway, so all the no-no's have never been a problem. Oh, except carrots--I can eat bags of those babies :dizzy:

pbolton1 08-28-2008 10:35 AM

Thanks & ticker ?

Thanks to everyone here for being so supportive. You have kept me honest & kept OP. I am finally down a pound--up three yesterday & down four today. I feel & look different, so I know it's not just weird fluctuations. I really hate scales, but sometimes they are necessary.

Now, can somebody tell me if there is a way to redo my ticker without totally starting over? I remember having trouble with that a few years ago when I use these tickers on another forum. There has got to be a way??

Finz 08-28-2008 11:06 AM

Went to WI this morning and was down 4 lbs!!! :cb::cb::cb:
I signed the 75 lb board and now am only 2 lbs away from the 80 lb board. It's exciting to start to get so close to my goal :D I haven't had a big drop like this in ages--I've just been kind of plodding slowly along--so it was a real thrill to see a substantial drop. Looking forward to measurements next week!

Cucumbers! It's pretty easy to get 8 oz of salad when there's a lot of cucumber in it.

silverbelle 08-28-2008 11:08 AM

Ah yes, cucumbers are one of those veggies that I don't eat unless I HAVE to. :o, I guess I need to start buying them...yuck

I like having leftovers, makes the next couple of nights easy! I go ahead & weigh them out after I eat so I can grab a container know already there's 4 oz of cooked veggies in there.
Also, the leftover cooked veggies make a nice soup with the chicken boullion HNS & 4 oz of leftover cooked (or canned) chicken. Almost your entire meal in one bowl. (Add bread for dinner or fruit for lunch - once you're on the green menu, that is...)

Try the long "English" ones - they're "burpless". And spiff them up - sprinkle a little vinegar, salt, pepper & splenda on them. I can't get enough of them like that. Slice green onions are good with them too, and grape tomatoes once you get to the green menu.

I have to say, tho - for those who are really picky on veggies - this program must seem like a HUGE struggle. I can't imagine trying to do it not liking veggies. Then again, I'll bet some people find they like veggies more than they thought they did.

And for whoever was finding their food to be bland - seasonings! Mrs Dash has several different varieties of salt-free seasonings. Use them! Spice that food up.

That is exactly how I felt! I love veggies and I still think sometimes I may eat a few too many. But I also dealt with the constant hunger. This board got really tired of me saying I was hungry all the time and my center couldn't figure out why i was either. I found that if I drank a diet sprite with a fiber fill, it helped a bit. Still hungry when I am not at work though.

I also found that a nice sized garden tomato is pretty much 8 oz.
