I was pretty good foodwise, but didn't get my regular exercise in yesterday and had a decadent dinner last night-- back to 123 this morning after seeing 118 briefly last week. I'll be working hard this week to get back down again.
Weekend was indulgent, but somehow weighed in at 131.5 today. I tried on a gorgeous lovely dress in a size 4 at a Quebecois designer blowout sale, and it almost fit - was slightly tight across the hips but loose in the waist! I thought a lot about being a 14 year old not fitting into junior XL t-shirts at JCPenney and felt thankful that I have learned to take better care of myself.
Entered my mom and I into a newspaper contest to be "models" at the Tulip Fest luncheon, and I guess (judging by the competition) not many people submitted stories: http://blog.timesunion.com/kristi/vo...23/#more-47523

I just voted for you and your beautiful mom. Good luck and beautiful story!
Becky - I'm so glad that Carmina Burana went well!
Krampus - I'm going to vote for you guys right now!
I had an indulgent and lazy weekend, too. I didn't feel well all day yesterday, so I spent most of the day in the bed.
Funny condom story here, too - my mom worked at a drugstore when I was in junior high. I later worked at the same drugstore with the same managers when I was in high school. When my mom was working there a man came in one day and asked my mom for rubbers. My mom was what some might call naive. She took him to look at rain boots. According to the folks that were telling me the story he looked at her kind of crazy and said very loudly "I don't need to cover my feet, I need to cover my d*** lady!" She took him to the right place in the store and her coworkers teased her about it for years.
Ha ha ha! Shannon that's too funny. Thank you for the votes. Our relationship is pretty unremarkable, but I see nothing wrong with being proud of a stable and healthy relationship between mother and daughter.
Becky, sounds like your DS had a great performance! As for the 3lb gain, did you maybe accidentally have one of the artificial colors you are sensitive to?
Speaking of condoms AND hormones, I felt pretty silly when I went to the grocery yesterday and bought condoms, pregnancy tests, and maxi pads all at the same time. All your reproductive needs in one stop! In any case I took the pregnancy test this morning and it was negative, so I suppose the half day "period" was actually my period for this month. All the other PMS-y symptoms vanished over the weekend and I feel back to normal now anyway.
In other news, I ate too much junk food this weekend. I suppose the one thing you can say in my favor is that I didn't drink any alcohol. But I'm not sure that makes up for the pie and cookies. Then today at work they gave us pizza and cake for lunch to celebrate a coworker's 15 year anniversary with the company. I'm trying to motivate myself to go run sometime this afternoon. It's like all my motivation to exercise vanished when the temperature dropped again!

Another vote for you & your mom, Krampus. I didn't know you were also a birder.
We're approaching warbler season and I'm not going to let an Upstate spring go to waste. I'll be out there looking this coming weekend, getting "warbler neck."
In other news, down 1.9 pounds this morning from what I was on Friday, but still not to where i was on my ticker. We'll see how this sojourn in Pennsylvania Dutch country affects my eating. It's the land of hard physical farm labor and carbs ... egg noodles, dumplings, fritters, pie, home-made bread, pretzels, all kinds of cookies of German descent, and the fabled seven sweets & sours, and oh yeah, ham and bacon. I'll avoid the food and admire the quilts.
My Chico baby has cancer. Specifically sarcoma--malignant. Pathology didn't say whether it is synovial cell sarcoma (the better of the two) or hystiocytic (sp?) cell sarcoma (nasty). Next step is chest x-rays to determine if it has spread to his chest and then schedule amputation of his leg, shoulder and shoulder blade.
