Hi there, I am a newbie and started May 6th. I know a bunch of people at work who have been on this and had good results! No headaches, ok with the food. Had first WI today and was down 3 lbs, which I think is pretty good for being on Day 4. Looking forward to hearing the everyone else's progress!

💖Lycheeta great start. It is the perfect plan it forces us to stay on track because a little bit of cheating ruins it quickly....it is All-In or Nothing! :smug:

HI,

My husband and I started IP on May 1st. So far I'm down 15 llbs so far! I'm so excited...but I want more more more! LOL Good luck ladies

Rayze 05-09-2014 10:38 PM

End of day 2...so far so good! I have pretty simple tastes, so the simplicity of the real food is ok. I'm trying to ignore the metallic taste of most of the Ideal food. Focused on success!

Awesome I have a twin :P
How did your weigh in go? I actually had mine last night and I was down 8lbs! I know the first couple of weeks see a lot more loss but I'm still super excited as that's more than 10% of my goal in one week!

How is everyone else doing? My coach only measures inches every month so I think I'm going to measure myself and see how I progress week to week. I don't own a scale though so I hope if I stay OP each week I'll get a nice surprise at each weigh in :)

This is my first weekend on IP and I'm a little worried. Weekends have always been struggle for me because a I am at home more and tend to snack. Plus my sweet daughter (10 years old) told me she was going to bake me cookies for Mother's Day. I managed to convince her not to bake the cookies since I am trying to stick to the plan and improve my health. Also, we are eating at a family members house on Mother's Day but I think I will be ok. Any suggestions for making it through the weekends?

Have her shake you drink instead, pour it in a fancy glass for you. I'm going to have my older one do some of my veggie chopping for the week.

Try spacing out your IP and your veggies and your salad throughout the day so it feels more like snacking.

Day1-Down

Hi Everyone,
Well yesterday was Day1 for me. The first part of the day went great. I was thinking oh wow this is going to be easy. But then late afternoon came and things started happening. I got pretty crabby. Felt very light headed. For some reason I thought I'd go out and dink around on bikes with my 7 year old. She is just learning so I did a little ride with her. Course I had to stop I started feeling really really faint. I ended up eating two snacks yesterday. I pounded way more water then the min. So I feel good about that. Has anyone felt faint? Reading through this site has helped me keep myself busy. Plus very encouraging .

I know the Mother's Day thing is tough - my husband always takes me and his mom to an all you can eat buffet! *every year!)

So when he asked me this year what i wanted to do - is I said i don't want Mother's Day to revolve around food. Lets get the family (son JUST got home from college) and go for a long walk along a canal near our house. We can talk and catch up.

So tell your daughter you would really like to go for a walk? with her? and look for butterflies and buttercups? maybe make you a buttercup bouquet?

That is what we are doing.

But then bless his heart, my hubby then said - "but we do have to eat...."
So he is making salmon on the grill for dinner (instead of a restaurant buffet)

I think that works!!

Sooooo I started on Wednesday and have followed to a tee. I went to check in with my coach early and it haven't lost anything. Feeling a little discouraged. Anyone else experience this?? Did you finish the week with a weightloss?

So, you've been on the program for four days? You might be just getting into ketosis. Breathe ... relax ... let the program work. There's a reason the weigh-ins are weekly. Your weight will fluctuate throughout the week, but in the long-term (again, give it a few more days!), the trend will be down. Remember that any loss is a loss, and that a loss of 0 is a maintainance success.

momotrips3 05-10-2014 06:58 PM

I had my first weigh in and I lost 10 pounds! About half fat, half water or so says the fancy scale. I have never lost more than 8 on a first week of anything. I'm excited to keep going and see what happens! Of course, I could have the big loss then nothing, but it's still 10 gone! Amazing. I had almost given up on losing weight. I can't believe it worked so well so quickly!

HeatherFeather54 05-10-2014 08:52 PM

ketosis

Out of curiosity today I bought the ketosis strips and I am in the moderate range. Pretty stoked. I hope that means I will loose a pound a day.

Kat360 05-10-2014 10:41 PM

Doing a 360!

Today I went in for my first consult. Tomorrow May 11 will be my first day on the program and I:D am so excited!!!! I hope I will like the food and am going to keep an open mind on modifying it to my tastes so I will stay on track! Bring on the Ketosis! :D

HeatherFeather54 05-10-2014 10:52 PM

I like all the food but the Leek soup. The puddings are amazing!

Kat360 05-10-2014 10:58 PM

Hi Mae.

There is an app... I am not sure what it is called.. I searched for it awhile back on my android phone. There is a cost to it and I've heard mixed reviews about it. From reading the other threads, people seem to favor just using myfitnesspal or spark people.

I would STILL like to hear from a few of the others as to the date of your P1 sheet... unfortunately, not all coaches update their materials as quickly as others. So still curious if there is in fact a newer sheet. (Heard that from someone else on another forum, but was not able to get confirmation!)

My sheet also is December 2013. Hope that helps :)

WOW - Congrats on the loss :)

Scotian_Sweetie 05-11-2014 09:13 AM

So I think I jinxed myself in my last post. I started Tuesday and was feeling so energetic and really clear minded and positive. Then Friday afternoon a light to medium headache started. I got through the day fine but went to bed a bit early. Then Saturday came and I felt like I had the flu. Headache, tired, and just not feeling great. I tried to motor through, but by 8PM my headache was so bad I just went to bed. I read about the 'keto-flu' and am hoping that this is what it was. I woke up today (with 11 hours sleep in) and am feeling much better. I read that I might not be adding enough salt so am going to try to up that a little bit. Hopefully the fat burning is now on!

Lone Loser 05-11-2014 09:55 AM

Scotian Sweetie, it hit me on the third day too (the first time I tried IP). I was so sick, actually threw up -- sorry if that is TMI. I would suggest taking in the drinks and shakes . . . be gentle with yourself. My coach gave me soups and other things that just didn't sit well the first week or so. (Doing a reboot now -- and didn't get sick at all). The good thing is, after I went through the Keto-flu, I felt fantastic. Hope you feel better!

Maalaea 05-11-2014 10:53 AM

Hi everyone just started IP on Thursday (May 8th) been feeling great and dreading the "flu" everyone keeps talking about. I'm excited for my first weight in.

Thanks Scotian! Keeping fingers crossed it wasn't a fluke... I have felt really okay, just tired. I think you're right about the salt - get enough and you should not have headaches. I made the mistake of taking a "Non-Drowsy" Zyrtec because I think I overdosed on Vitamin D (IPVitamins and my own supplement) and was itchy... I've been woozy and "drunk" for almost 24 hours! Haha!:stars:

srbj 05-11-2014 07:56 PM

I survived the weekend! I actually felt like I did well. I guess I will find out tomorrow at my check-in. I have stayed away for the scale this week because once I step on it I will become obsessed with checking my weight.

GlitterSlayer 05-12-2014 12:10 PM

Well My weekend went perfect. I felt at my worst on day 2 which was Saturday. So I just took it easy. My family wanted to go to the drive in movies. Inside I was freaking out. I mean that is just pure torture. But it wasn't that hard. I took some IP pudding. Thought Id be ok with that. Found out real fast that I do not like the pudding. Or at least butterscotch. Anyways. I made it through that and Mothersday. WootWoot. Today marks day 4 and I am feeling so much better. I did step on the scale and found I have lost 4lbs. Water Im sure. Can't wait for my weigh in on Thursday.

Woohoo!!! First week was a success. I lost 7 pounds and 2.5 inches in my waist. I know not to expect that much every week but it sure felt good this week.

I am finding that the powders I have to mix I don't care for much... But the ready made drinks are awesome as far as protein drinks go... Can't wait to go get a double shot of espresso today over ice and then add my ready made vanilla !! Good luck on your first weigh in Glitterslayer :D

If you like mint, Metro mint water is really good mixed with the powders. Chocolate powder mixed w/choc mint water is really good. I wish there were more sugar-free, non-sparkling flavored waters. Starbucks Via coffee packets are good in the powders, too. (the pure coffee, sugar-free).

Also, Cappella Flavors (you can order online) has no sugar, non-sweetened flavor drops that are awesome! I have used them for years to flavor my water & coffee. Tons of flavors. I like Cherry Cola (tastes like carbonation, but not), Cake Batter, Peanut Butter, Creamcicle...

As for the soups, just pack them with vegetables & spices.

Have a good week!

GlitterSlayer 05-13-2014 10:38 AM

That sounds so yummy right now. I'll have to do that.
