That was the motivation I needed! That will hep me stay 100% OP now! My next weigh in is Monday so I am a little nervous since it will be 2 days shy of a week but they are rearranging all their appts to Monday now. In the meantime, I am doing the happy dance!:dizzy:

Anyone else weigh in today?

I weighed-in today and lost 5 pounds! That's a total of 16 since 5/1! I can't believe it. This is going almost too well. However, I agree that the consistent losses help so much to stay OP! It's going to be a great week! :crossed:

That is still awesome! The smaller we are, the harder to lose it! 7.6 lbs is a GREAT number! keep it up!

Nevermind! I'm still breastfeeding, though my baby's on solids 3x a day + snacks, she still feeds quite often. I've been trying to wean her, but she doesn't really like formula. I guess I'll just try to eat healthier until she's weaned and then maybe I'll have changed my mind about a coach.

Hi Havestar! I was in the same position you are now eating lots and lots of sugar and tried to get myself in very restricted diets but didn't work:( so I started Dr Oz 2 weeks weight loss diet, and after that 1 month of the zone diet, the zone really really helped me to cut the sugar cravings (they were really bad) as it balance protein carbs and fats, Now I'm on my first week with IP and very happy! but I don't think I would have made it when I still had the sugar addiction.... Hope this helps you!!

Bummed....finished week 3 and was proud of myself. Stayed on plan except eating a little extra a few days cause I worked out. Took a pilates class. Got my vitamins in. Drank water. Went to the grocery store and wanted so bad to stroll the chip/cookie isle and make myself sick on a whole package of my favorite. But didn't

And the scale hasn't moved in a week. Bummed.
I lost 9 pounds in my first 2 weeks, but I really need to see results every week or I have a hard time staying motivated. This diet is NOT easy, the only reason I do it is because of the results.

I lost 11 lbs the first week. My coach is out of town so I didn't weigh this week. My scale is different so I'm not sure what I lost. I am like you, I need to see results. However, we have to realize that it WILL come off if we follow the plan. It has too. That's where patience (which I lack) comes in!!

I know from my own experience that my body tends to hold on to weight then drop a bunch at once. It can be frustrating!! I've read posts on here where people say the same thing. Hang in there- you will lose!!!! :carrot::carrot:

Hang in there. I agree it is frustrating not to see a loss this time but the next time it might be a big loss.

Any loss is a good loss no matte how big or small. WI was today, another 2.4 pounds gone. That makes 16.1 pounds and 13.75 total inches in one month.

Haven t posted in some weeks. Still op and haven t cheated. First two weeks lost 12 lbs. the las three only 2.6,.6 and 1.6!
Frustrating seeing how I m 100percent on plan. I m 80 pounds overweight so I hve tons more to lose. Trying not to get discouraged started jogging this week maybe that will help.

I can sympathize with you. I had my second WI today, it's my third week but my coach was out of town last week. I lost 11lbs the first week and 5.6 lbs this time. So a total of 16.6 lbs in three weeks. That's actually pretty good. I am telling myself that I did not put this on over night and it won't come off overnight either. I am losing inches too. I now fit in an XL shirt!! Down from 1XL. So that's good!! :)

lisa32989 06-06-2014 12:28 PM

Mae5: Actually, adding exercise can temporarily stall or increase weight. It causes inflammation in the muscles. I'm not saying exercise isn't good, it is great for fitness. Diet is what effects weight loss the most.

You have a had a loss every week. They won't all be big! You've still lost almost 5 lbs in the last 3 weeks. Another week will put you over 5 for the month. On some diets we're lucky if we lose a half lb per week. Remember, those first 2 weeks is mostly water. After that is fat.

I'm betting your measurements have changed!

Mae5 06-06-2014 12:34 PM

I did lose an inch in my hips this week. My coach suggested I start exercising to increase my metabolism. I m nervous about it too because I feel my boday may go into starvation mode. I measure my veggies and tsp of olive oil every day. I bake or boil my natural protein etc
Maybe I should drink more water?? I feel as it is I m floating away haha. But maybe more water would help? Or less?

Are you adding an extra packet or egg or something after your jogging?

If you are using the lowest possible fat content natural protein you might want to up your olive oil to 2 tsp - your body needs the fat to operate. I would also mix it up on the protein - chicken, beef, pork, etc.

If I'm reading correctly, you've been on IP for 5 weeks and have lost more than 16 pounds? That's better than 3 pounds a week - that's fantastic!

shelleyo17 06-06-2014 05:07 PM

I was told by my coach that if I exercise or do anything more strenuous than normal (or if I ever feel light headed) that I should just eat a hard boiled egg...which I do. It has helped all the way around...and my skel musc has increased as well. That seems to work for me.

kcandponies - It can be so frustrating to be on the program and not have the weight reflect how hard you worked! Last week, I was perfect, and I mean to the letter perfect. I lost 1 pound. Yes, one pound is in the right direction but I would be lying if I said I was not a wee bit disappointed.

But, I know where I am going and what I want to achieve. I look at my old photos and know I do not ever want to go back there again. So, I dig way down to find motivation on whatever level I can. I know giving up is not an option so that makes it easier because there is nothing to return to - not on option.

One of the books I read using that expression to remember where we are going - not an option, things like cookies, etc.

Hang in there and we can see how next week goes for each of us. I get more and more stubborn when crossed so maybe it will be BIG!

You've already heard about how exercise can cause a stall due to swelling. I know pilates is a hard workout. My muscles are sore for days after I "scoop" my abs. Those hip exercises... aaaahhh I can hardly walk. It "looks" so gentle, but Pilates is WORK!

Rayze 06-06-2014 08:56 PM

A 1 lb loss for me this week too. I'm blaming TOM! Focused and staying OP. Looking forward to the next weigh in!

dnthomas83 06-09-2014 12:41 PM

3 lbs lost, need to increase veggies

3rd week and I lost 3 lbs exactly....I was really nervous because I have had some rough nights as a nurse, I went beyond **** and back fri night into saturday morning. I was so proud of myself because I didn't turn to food for comfort like I was really wanting to but in 48 hours only consumed 1 packet of ideal protein and one source of protein....so i was happy with my loss, esp since last week I last 1.8lbs...

Trying to keep motivation up but I am getting impatient with myself once again...I want to be at my goal!!!

I know I will get there. My biggest challenge is getting my veggies in because my husband hates veggies so I am clueless besides my boring salads! Suggestions??

lisa32989 06-09-2014 01:06 PM

For veggie ideas: Check out the fun with veggie purees thread.

You can find it on the first post of the Daily Chat thread everyday.
There are also many recipe threads.

Another good place to look/read-over is the What Are You Eating Today thread. You can see what others are doing.

A super-simple way to do veggies is to roast them. Many are better roasted than cooking other ways.

Additionally, cauliflower is my go-to. You can mash it like mashed potatoes, you can shred it & make cauliflower "rice". Heck, you can even make "pancakes" or tortillas out of it! go here Cauliflower pancakes for those ideas.

Mitsu23 06-09-2014 02:03 PM

Congratulations to everyone!!
It's so exciting seeing the pounds and the inches drop. Remember if you don't lose one week or lose just a little it doesn't mean the diet isn't working. I have had the scale only move slightly too and for me it was hormones and I had a cold....I was devistated and wanted to quit on the spot. The following week I lost. Take it a day at a time...that's all we can do!

HeatherFeather54 06-09-2014 06:31 PM

Hello, I just had my 2nd weigh in and my weight loss has already stalled. The first week I lost 5 lbs and have stayed 100% on plan, so I am feeling a bit discouraged. I appreciate reading this thread and knowing that others experience this too and to hang in there, but it is disappointing. I think I need to start walking more and get my metabolism up. Any other tips would be appreciated!

Hi SuzieQ - exercise other than gentle walking when you first start IP is not really recommended. This plan just doesn't have enough calories to support heavy exercise. Gentle walking is fine, anything that gets your heart rate up you should probably wait (I think I went 4 months before doing anything other than slow treadmill).

There's lots of reasons your weight could stay stagnant for a week - TOM, time of day, constipation, water weight etc. Hang in there, it will come off! Make sure you're getting all your water, salt and supplements in and you are good to go.

Hang in there! I am on week 4, I lost 11 lbs the first week, my coach was out of town my second week so I didn't have an official WI, so when I weighed my third week I had "only" lost 5 lbs. I was discouraged, I know crazy!! But according to my scale I have already lost another 2 lbs since Friday. My official WI is this Friday. So, it all evens out!! just hang in there! Like everyone says, some weeks you'll see big losses and some weeks little, or maybe none, but the weight IS coming off and you are losing!! We give the scale too much power.

You got this!!

Nicole12 06-10-2014 10:51 AM

I too had a "slower" week with a 2 lb loss. My coach said you can have some slower weeks but then can get another bigger one. I am now just a few lbs away from the 100's and cant wait. My home scale says I have lost more than 20 lbs since I started May 5th but on the coaches scale I am a pound away from that milestone :-)

NSV has been "shopping" in my own closet for clothes I have not worn in a long time. I think I have an entire new wardrobe in there, which will be great until I get to my ideal weight and go on a shopping spree.

I hope everyone has a great week.

Mekusmomma 06-10-2014 11:01 AM

May 8 starter - so far down ~9 lbs :)

I'm excited to be on a plan. My job is sedentary and I don't have a bunch of time to work out. It feels good to lose the inches too:) Finding very creative ways to make my veggies, and loving this part.

My favorite IP recipe doctoring up the packets? Using the chocolate drink mix to make two waffles (not as dense waffles as regular waffles, but I feel like I'm having chocolate every morning :). I'm a cake lover.

WI 1: -2.8 (was doing some things wrong)
WI 2: -0.3 (TOM)
WI 3: -5.9
WI 4: 0.0 (spotting, lowered thyroid hormone)
